On the LE issue Back in April and May I went to a specialist for the massages for 6 weeks and now so far have been able to keep the swelling at bay, I try to do approx 20 min or so of massages and breating exercises each night Although I admit I do skip every so often

Oh, I live you October women! What a wonderful spirit there is amongst us. I know most people would find it hard to understand how we could feel so close with only a few of us ever having met face to face, but we know what is real. I believe that it is our spirits or souls that have connected through our messages, our concerns, our caring, and our love for each other.
Guess what . . . Last week I received the pink yarn that I ordered for our Rock-tober socks. If you look at the front page of the breastcancer.com site here, there is some hot pink coloration on the page. That's pretty much the color that I have. The supplier calls it Petunia, and it does look like the color of pink petunias. So, I am starting the Roc-tober socks with the breast cancer ribbon logo running up the sides. I wish I had nothing else to do but knit so that I could have them all finished very quickly. As it is, well, I'll just promise to work on them every day and soon I'll be sending off matching socks to all that want them. So far, I believe that Laura, Tracy, & Debbie have claimed a pair. Kelly, did you say that you wanted some, also? What about you, Amy? I think someone else also wanted a pair but right now I can't recall. I'll look back through my e-mail.
Love you all,
Mary -
Ha! We have accessories (socks), clothing (T-shirts) and music (a CD)! Rock-Tober girls ROCK!!! Maybe a line of jewelry should be next..... LOL!!!
-
oooo....i want socks i wear a size 7 1/2 shoe and my feet are really narrow. i wish i could measure them, but i've packed my ruler
-
Mary-Anne, I can't have any more than 20 kids in my class. This is because we have a class size reduction law in California in K-3. There's a big difference between 20 and 30. Plus, experience and the right kind of planning helps make our day go smoothly. To me, that means nobody cried or got hurt.
Just finished helping Sean pack. Can't believe he's off to 6th grade camp tomorrow!! On the one hand I know he'll have a good time, on the other hand I am SOOOO worried he won't be able to keep up with the housekeeping, etc. It's gonna be a long week for me...
Mary, my shoe size is 6 and my feet are medium in width. I love socks. I remember always having them on during chemo last year. Thanks in advance! -
mary..I want socks!!! That is soooooooooo cool! (warm, actually!!! ) I wear a size 7
Tracy..that is beautiful what you wrote. I don't think there is much to add but I want to write too, so that maybe they would notice that more than one from this group wrote? Then we'd go in our socks and t-shirts!!!(maybe some pants, too! )
I want to make something for the Rock-tober girls too. Have been thinking about it. Eventually I'll let you know what it is going to be. Now I'm motivated so this is what I'll be working on!!!
Brenda...hope Sean manages well!!!!
Amy..hope you enjoyed watching the tennis. I'm sure you did! Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. -
Well last week I went to two doctors, one my primary pcp and then the oncologist- 2 different opinions-My primary suggests having a complete metastatic work-up, exrays, scans ect...My Oncologist says why go the the stress when there are no indications to do so, he believe unless he or I see, feel, or hear something different no reason to do it, What do you all think?
-
My onc told me that all I needed was the mammogram. When I told her that it was the ultrasound that detected a suspicious lump as opposed to what appeared to be a benign lump in the mammogram, she said to have the ultrasound as well. Except for that, she said that if there are no indications of any problems, then there is no need to go through further scans, as they tend to be stressful.
So, I agree...unless you know of other spots that need rechecking... -
Brenda - 20 in a clas , you must be joking! There are 38 in the class i work in, yes 38!
That includes 2 with autism , 2 classed as learning delayed, 1 on ritalin,2 with English as a second language and 1 with dyslexia 3 waiting to be tested. Add to that we are in a temporary classroom. Now see why i am glad that i only work till 11.30!!!!
Mark had a fantastic time at camp. ( dont think he changed clothes or used the soap ) and was chosen as Best Cub ( manners helpfulness etc) for the 3rd camp running. I was as proud as if he had won in the Olympics!!
By all accounts they spent the weekend eating bacon sandwiches, drinking fizzy pop and running riot in the woods - oh to be 9.
My friends mum was diagnosed with a brain tumour, just after my diagnosis.( previously had BC) She was given 6weeks without treatment and 6 months with. A year later , the tumour is shrinking, she can walk and use her arms and speach again. I know none of you know her but it is such good news i wanted to share!
DEbbie -
Debbie: Yes, that is good news. No matter what it is, as long as someone is living beyond the "prognosis" then it is a victory. We never know why, but perhaps there is still some gift for her to give - - even if it is the gift of love to her family and the opportunity for them to enlarge their souls through serving her and giving her happiness. as others have said, each day is a victory!

Rock-tober Girls Socks
Laura: tracing recd
Tracy:
Debbie: measurements recd
Kelly:
Amy: 7 ½, narrow
Brenda: 6, medium
Ravdeb (Debbie): 7, medium
So far, these are the poeple I have on the socks list. If I forgot you, it's not personal, I just don't have the memory I once did.
Tracy and Kelly: I apologize if I forgot your sizes. Let me know again, okay?
I have the socks with me, in my tote bag, and will work on them on my lunch hour today.
Mary -
I just talked to a friend here at work who will photograph the socks in progress and then I can send you some pics. I do not yet have a digital camera. Santa, are you listening?
Mary -
Debbie..that is wonderful news about your friend's mom!!! I honestly would never believe a doctor if he told me how long I was going to live. How could they possibly know? It's so obvious that your friend's mom has some stuff to take care of here before she leaves.
Wonderful news!!! Very exciting!
Oh boy you have a tough group to work with! Here most classrooms have 40 kids with one teacher. You only find smaller classes in private schools or schools on a kibbutz where they can choose who comes to their school.
Good luck with your students!
And that's just terrific that your son had a great time at camp!!! -
That's great, Mary!!! Can't wait to see the socks in progress
Have a great day, Ladies!!!! -
Mary, I am size 8 medium! I would love a pair of Roctober socks!
Tracy--you wrote that letter so beautifully. I hope we get picked so that way can all meet each other.
------
Well, we had to get out of the house. They started digging for the pool last week and Teryn and I didn't want to stay cooped up so went to Knott's Berry Farm Resort for the night. So we had an early breakfast, checked in to the hotel, swam and she rode her scooter around the courtyard and since we went with another family, my friend Teresa and I went to Knott's to ride some of the thrill rides while the kids played! $49 getaway on Sunday nights! -
First day of school. Not very clear. Photographer a bit shakey.
Fists up! -
Finally got my tshirt pics downloaded. -
You look FANTASTIC, Mary-Anne!
-
What great pictures!!! Kelly..are you ON that ride??? OMG!
Maryanne..what cute kids you have!
You look terrific! Very nice in that T-shirt! -
MaryAnne: Wonderful pictures! How nice to see your smiling face. Love the shirt!!! Want a pair of pink socks to wear with the shirt this winter? Send me your size. The pink of the socks yarn is the color of the pink writing on the shirts. Whoo-hoo! We are going to have color-coordinated outfits!!
Kelly: Great . . . got your sock size.
Mary -
Mary - I wear a size 8 1/2 - can't wait to add socks to my Rock-Tober Girls wardrobe!!!
MaryAnne - you look great! Your hair is about the same length as mine.
Debbie - great to hear about your friend. Dr.s don't always know what is going to happen. It is important to never give up!
Kelly - FUN!! Glad you had a good time!
Well, I found out today that my "soon to be EX" husband's girlfriend has moved in with him. I kind of suspected, but finding out for sure gave me a jolt and I have been crying all morning. I find it sad that 16 years of a realationship can be so easily replaced. I know that my life is so much better now--but it does hurt.
OK - everyone, flood the email box at Oprah.com!!!! They just have to understand how totally cool the Rock-Tober Girls are!!!!
I love you all, so good to know you are there. This is the first place I came when I was feeling a bit blue.... -
Hi I think I am missing from the birthday list - 13th June
Cheers Jill -
Tracy:
Sorry that you are hurting. I know you are better off than with someone who didn't appreciate you, but I completely understand. He will someday understand what a great woman he lost when you left him. Perhaps there is something / someone even better in your future. I hope that there is a new love for you if that is what you want.

Hello all,
Spend the last 15mins trying to work out how to post a picture. I hope this works.
Here are some photos of the fireworks which ended the Edinburgh Festival last week. The music was Romeo & Juliette and the display lasted about 45 minutes. AND /b] the weather was brilliant

MARYANNE -
It's so nice to finally see a photo of your little ones! You three look great!
And - of course...I love, love, love the photos of you wearing your shirt! You look FAB! I think it's finally time now for me to make a shirt for ME !
EVERYONE -
Hi y'all! Miss you...I am still very busy! Just can't keep up with things like the old Laura did. Gotta keep on truckin'! LOL
Will write more later.
Laura -
Thanks for the pics, Jill.
-
Debbie - It's always good to hear good news about cancer - from anybody. 38 kids? You must have other adults in your class then. I do have a couple of kids who need very special attention, and I'm with them till 2:10 PM. 11:30 sounds better. Okay, no trade. I'll keep my angels.
-
MaryAnne - great pictures!!
Debbie - RobinHood camp in Nottingham sounds like a BLAST!! OMG! John Michael started Cub Scouts for the first time this year and he loves it so far! Good news about your friend's mom, btw!!
Mary - I would love a pair of socks too! I'm a size 6 1/2 wide- would it help to give you exact measurements?
Jill - beautiful pictures!
BTW ladies - thank you for all your kind words regarding Kiersten - she'll be in another ballet class with "normal" (gasp) kids. She also started Brownies tonight - we are staying busy!
Love you all! -
Rosemarie, as we know so well, there is no such as normal. We are all unique. And G*d wouldn't want it any different.
