Darn! I missed Sue! Sweet dreams to you!
My procedure went fine--thanks, Lisa. I don't know anything yet. It will probably be the middle of next week before my doc gets the results. More waiting......so much fun!!!
I'm feeling a bit achy today and I'm tired because I couldn't sleep last night. Damn hot flashes and steroids!!
Love and hugs to all,
Karen

Hi Lisa , good luck to you Monday!
-
Lisa , if Olivia wants to , tell her to call me and let me know how things went when surgery is over. I know it is going to be fine. But I would like to get the thumbs up so to speak from her. Or , if she can come here and lets us know. You know how we all worry if we don't hear something. Hope you are cuddling with Oliver , he is gonna miss you , but when he sees you again , he just might pee cause hes' so glad to see you!lolxxxx
Karen , my fingers are crossed for good results. I know , I really hate the waiting game. Hope your feeling ok.xxxx
I'm tired tonight so I will say goodnight Lisa , Karen , Sue
, gb , Lucy , Ulla , Mia , Wren , Shirlann , Angie , Md mouse , Hawkwomen , Karyll , Auntie Em , Valsul , Cyndy , and anyone I forgot , Love you ladies. Talk to you all tomorrow. Sweet dreams. Melody
-
Lisa - please try and have Olivia call Melody, we need to hear that you did just fine!! Won't be the same around here without ya!!
Karen - the waiting is THE absolute worst part of the process. I feel for you, but know in my heart everything will be just fine.
Poor Sue, I wonder if she let Adam go yet??
Off to do some cleaning, bbl,

Hello Everyone....thinking of you ALL xxxx
Well its 17:30 ...just got in from work ... had a really stressy day ...big argument with the manager from the smaller shop..cos he kept phoning his colleague up..who was working at my shop ...and we were busy ..well I was getting really irate with the use of the phone ...and shouted.... now I feel bad....but I shouldnt??
I phoned Adam and asked him to come see me on Monday and not to come in for his shifts over the weekend.....
I hope you are all having a nice Saturday...I can't believe its February already...where does the time go...a whole month gone ...in a split second ....why is time going so quick...are we more aware of the shortness of life and time when we are dx with bootface....it is really scarey xxx
I am going to go for a coffee...oh yeah I forgot...we woke up to loads of snow today.....and I lost control of the car driving to work....what takes me an hour in rush hour I can do nine minutes on a Saturday ....well it was nice to see some snow...its going now ....not sure if it will come again
Lisa ...not long now and you will be as right as rain.... xxx
Karen....do you have to phone up for your results...I dont know whether they will phone or write to me...I am going for my CMF a week on Tuesday and its gettting in me face already grrrr
Much Love xxx

Thankyou for the advise Jane, it was really helpful,
I tried to text you the other day Sue to see if you were free for a chat? We'll have to have a natter some timeX

Hi sisters.
Just a quick hello from work. Mel, thanks for the pic...I will view it when I get home, since they are blocked from viewing here. Hopefully I can see it. I have your phone # in my cell. So either I will call you from the hospital, or I will have Olivia call or get on here and post.
Thanks for all the well wishes!! It makes me feel so cared for and loved! I actually feel more content about everything today. I am not sure why? Maybe because it's closer and I talked with my ps the other day.
My niece (whos is doing her residency as a doctor) is allowed to be in the operating room with me!! It will bring me allot of comfort to see her face before I go under!
My oldest daughter Danni was able to make it in from Chicago last night!! I love having her home! She will fly back tomorrow
. But it is good she is here, even if it is only 2 days. We are each other's strength. I feel bad, she broke up with her long time boyfriend. So (even though it's for the best) she is a little down. My g/f and I, however are playing match making..haha. Her son, who is really handsome and only 2 yrs older than Danni is going to meet up with her tonight to go out for a few drinks. Who knows..even if she ends up with a new friend. CAN YOU SAY..MATCH MAKER, MATCH MAKER..HAHA.
Well tonight, I am going to a friends house for a little celebration for her and a co-worker of hers. So I will eat, drink and be merry!! Last time for awhile. I have to stop all food and drink, except water at midnight! I will be starving tomorrow.
Love you all. I will check in tomorrow as well.
xoxo

Hi Lisa,
We'll all be thinking about you tomorrow. Another step you'll have out of the way on this journey!!!
Please let us know how you are doing when you feel up to it.
Mia

Thanks Mia.
The surgery is Monday morning at 7:30am, my time...39 hours to go!
Hey..have you scheduled that massage yet? I got a few during chemo..and let me tell you..that did wonders for me!!
-
Aw, Sue. I'm so sorry you've had a stressful day. I'm so glad you're ok. How scary that you lost control of your car. As for your outburst regarding that other store manager--he deserved it! He should know better than to keep the other guy from doing his job by calling him repeatedly. So sorry about Adam. I know you like him as a person, and he sounds like a sweet boy. He should take his job more seriously though. I don't envy you having to break the news to him on Monday. I'm sure he suspects what he's in for.
Lisa, how nice that your daughter is home. Sorry for her breakup--that's always hard, even when it's for the best. Maybe the set-up will work out. Did she have to be pursuaded to meet this guy for drinks? Has she met him before? It would be nice if they hit it off. Nothing wrong with a little match making!! I'm glad you're feeling more confident about the surgery. Have a wonderful time tonight!
Ulla, I'll take a look at the article after I fix the kids their lunch. I'm anxious to read it. Thanks for always sharing the info you find. Love you!!
Love and hugs to everyone. Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend.
Karen

Sorry Lisa...that's my chemo brain! I knew you were going on Monday (guessing not too many surgeons work on Sundays).
Kids were off school yesterday, so I keep thinking today is Sunday already.
I haven't booked the massage yet, but I found out that a local (and really NICE) spa offers free treatments to cancer patients on Wednesdays. Just need a note from the onc to say it's "ok" for the massage. Definately going to look at doing that next week!
I'll still be thinking of you tomorrow...getting ready...and on Monday, too!!! Lots of hugs!!!
Mia
-
Sue...I am glad you got snow...so sorry you had a scary moment with your car!
Karen, no..she has never met him. I showed her pictures. They have text each other. I think they are both fun and easy going people, they will enjoy each other's company. Plus..there will be other people there too! Not too sure about a fix up, since he lives in Cleveland and she lives in Chicago. Long distant relationships are hard. She knows..that is what she has had the last 2 yrs.
I will enjoy myself tonight. Going to have a few "knock ya naked Margarita's"!!
Love to all!
Lisa
-
Thanks Mia.
We have a non profit organization for Cancer patients. They offer all kind of services. Very nice. That is where I got my massages, and they were free. So nice. I would love to go back again later after my healing.
Our kids were off school on Friday too, due to weather. It does throw off your weekend.
-
Lisa, hope you have a great night out. Will be sending you lots of positive thoughts for Monday. How wonderful that your niece will be with you during your surgery! That is very special. It's so great that your dd could be with you for a couple of days but sad that she has broken up with her b/f. I hope she enjoys her outing with your friend's handsome son! No harm in a bit of match making - I think friends and family can often see possibilities and these often work out.
Sue, your busy and stressful day sounds exhausting. I am sure you are a very good boss and it sounds as though you have some very difficult situations to deal with. You had every right to yell! People who slacken off when there is so much to be done all around them make more work for everyone else. Probably a good thing to leave the Adam thing until Monday - surely he's expecting it! You can't choose the pub over work if want to keep your job!
Ulla - interesting article but not sure if I agree with it! No doubt there are many things in our environment that cause bootface - it's probably not one but many factors and it's very difficult to avoid all these toxins. I don't like it when they talk about personality types getting cancer or attitudes because it puts the blame right back on the patient. Of course we all have a responsibility to live as healthfully as possible but I know several people (myself included) who have had good diets, exercised and had positive attitudes and yet we still got it! I constantly see articles on studies that suggest that certain lifestyles, foods, etc cause bootface and they do probably all contribute...one of the latest causes was shiftwork - well, I worked nightshift for 2 years but a lot of other people I worked with are still fine so...who knows? Here's a link that I found: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080129/hl_nm/cancer_breast_personality_dc_2

Needless to say ..hes long gone LOL
sorry going now!!

Sue, your dad sounds like such a one-in-a-million, special parent. It's so great that you have him to talk to and love you. You must love him so much.
Glad you survived in your car. I have never driven in the snow and I am in no hurry to do so! My sister and I still laugh (with thankful relief!) about our wild trips in Canada with her son-in-law driving. He drives SO fast over the snow and ice and refuses to put the heater on! (He loves fresh air and says he feels sick if he gets too hot) So everyone in the car has to scrape the ice off the inside of the windows! Brrrrr!
My sister is arriving in 2 days time! She is staying for nearly a week and then flying out to Canada again for the birth of her latest niece - due about the 18th Feb. I wish I could go too but - no money and my wonky arm - I am in no hurry to fly and get all swollen again.
Hi Lucy, Mia and Karen and anyone else who here.
Jane. xxx
-
Lol! Sue - loved the part about that guy and his unconventional language! I would actually quite like somebody like that to serve me!
Massages - I love them. I think everyone should have them - regularly! If more people got massages there would be less war! Everybody would be so chilled out they would just want to be at peace with everyone! Hope you have a great one Mia. Isn't it great that they provide that service free!

Happy ground hogs day!

Enjoy your bath Sue - don't have it too hot or you might start swelling!
gb

Hi Melody! Is it ground hogs day? I loved that movie! What's the tradition - something about if the ground hog does something, it means that spring will come early?
Jane
-

Cya in bit xxx
-
OMG!!!! Love that movie! That was the funniest part too! Remember how Bill Murray's character said, "don't drive angry." to the groundhog? Too funny!!!
Happy Groundhog's Day!!
-
gb, if the groundhog sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter. Isn't that it? Or is it the other way around? I don't know what the outcome was today. Do you, Mel?
-
Punxsutawney Phil Expand
Here's another picture of Punxsutawney Phil. Ugly little bugger, isn't he? Look at those teeth!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was Bill Murray's name in the movie too, wasn't it (Phil)?
-
Ohhh, that' right - the ground hog's shadow - I think that's right about the 6 weeks of winter. You will all be seeing daffodils and green grass pushing through the snow soon! And I will be welcoming the dryer, cooler weather and will have more energy!
