    Beautiful Ferne!!!!

Marsha: I assure you, any dummy can do it! I use the pinkish color straight loom. Go buy it and give me a holler..biggest thing is the wrapping..got to use to strands of yarn together as one or it will be to loose..once you get it, you'll love it!

Hey Cheri: We've got another "challenged" one joining our elite group!!

    Love,

    Loom? Isn't that a bird?

ok, spelling police here marsha. the bird is a loon, not loom or are you going to use trying to be funny as an excuse like Cheri does??? LOL

KK is easy to use. I am the dummy to prove it.

To our Sweet, Lava Flowing, funny sisters.....Of course Vickie is going to post a picture of your first Square, Marsha. It's part of the initiation!
Liz is going to send you the directions with the loom or is it loon? You think you're confused now....wait until you see the one or two line directions!!
Wow Girls, we now have 4 talent deprived sisters! I new our popularity would catch on!!!!

Hey, I am not laughing at ANYBODY who's trying. It is just yarn, not brain surgery. Take as many do-overs as you want, practice does pay off. If you decide to rip apart one of the squares, just roll the yarn back up in a ball and let it "rest" to get the crinkles out.

Ferne, thanks for the great picture. You and the cats look totally relaxed. -- Donna in VA

www.joann.com has free shipping on orders of $35 or more through June 6 just to let y'all know. They have Knifty Knitter and other stuff as well.

I don't know if I dare to order more yarn.....I haven't used up everything from the Fall 2004 order. I guess that makes me a pack rat.

    Donna,
Go ahead an place the order. I have 20 Rubbermaid plastic totes (18 gal.) full of yarn and will still buy more yarn if I see something wonderful. Now I'm using it, but never shy away from buying more. Ok, my name Cherryl and I'm a yarn-a-holic!!

Does anyone need boxes to mail squares or postage for mailing the squares?
Please, please let me know so we can get you any supplies that are needed.

So, I go to the Rag Shop thinking I'll get some yarn in anticipation of the KK that Liz is sending. Well good lord, there were bin after bin of yarn! AND I saw a kk in there that looks totally intimidating! Anyhoo.....I'm looking (must have looked overwelmed) and this nice older lady says "Need some help?" so I tell her what I'm doing, and that I am a newbie and ask how much yarn it will take to make 7X9 squares and she goes off on, oh I don't know, blah, blah, blah. The only thing I caught was "It depends on if you knit loose or tight" Well, I'm thinking to myself, if I was a gamling woman, I'd lay odds on "loose" LOL. (?)

All ready to give it a try........Marsha

Marsha Marsha Marsha....go directly to Walmart...do not pass Go. Get any color of your choice in the Red Heart Supersaver brand at Walmart. Worsted weight. and you'll do fine. And its cheap too. I get the Supersaver skein for about $2. You will be able to get about 3 - 5 squares from each skein. So that's --

    Brand: Redheart Supersaver
    Weight: Worsted
    Price: $2 bucks

For the Knifty knitter, get 2 skeins in each color because you use 2 strands together for the loom to make it thick and fluffy.

Just take baby steps...don't get overwhelmed.

1st step -- get the yarn
2nd step -- get knifty knitter in the mail

Hey, Marsha, you can bring your nifty knitter when we get together in a few weeks. I usually knit with needles, but know the KK basics. We may be able to squeeze in a square or two between margaritas and the pool.

Oh Crummy Buttons!!!! Thought I was being sneaky by stealing Shirley's phrase while she was away...........and I got busted!

Marsha: Alwayshope is so right!! No knitting stores!! And Sheri's gonna help you out between drinks and pools....we definitely need pictures!

The Generosity here is overflowing! So many offers to help each other with supplies and such! Love ya girls!

Cherryl -- 18 bins, you are scary!!! I have * 1 * Rubbermaid flat blanket box and a Caron 1 lb of blue sitting on top of it so that is my "stash". BUT I also live about 3 miles from our local Michael's so I kind of tell myself I can always drive over there "tomorrow" and get something if I really want it. I think the Joann's prices are pretty good though and they have needles in sizes that Michael's does not carry.

Marsha dear do not be discouraged. Now you just have an excuse for more shopping!!

I'm determined to finish my wool squares project this week and get them mailed off to Kansas so I can resume afghan squares soon. -- Donna in VA
