Well, talk about being slow on the up take. I just went back to page one of this thread and noticed the web site for Warm Up America. I checked it out and low and behold found six or seven patterns for knitted blocks. I must be just plain dense sometimes. I'm on block five, but I'm going slowly. Have decided to learn to knit continental style. I think it might be easier on my finger joints. It appears that my gauge won't be as tight as before, either. I'll post again when I have enough to send. Then I'll need an address to mail them to.

Laura, continental style is the way to go. I was doing it english and 'throwing' the thread until I went to a local knit group and watched a lady doing the continental. So much easier and more efficient. Less hand movement involved and it goes twice as fast.

Well, I have been meaning to go read about some alternate methods of knitting and you inspired me to do it. I am a lefty and the Continental method is probably a natural for me. I was taught by a right-hander and currently "throw" the yarn. I am going to give the Continental a try. Thanks!!
By the way, here is a video that shows it really well.

    Vickie and Madison,

Been meaning to ask...........would you like me to send you some black yarn? I'd be happy to do so....you guys must be burning through it the way you're whipping these Afghans out. Just let me know what kind you are using and I'll pick up a few skeins for both of you!

Let's see.......Madison needs a home for her latest Afghan and Vickie has found a home for her latest!!!!!!Always exciting!!

Okay........Continental and English Knitting........well I'll be, Thought the only stitch I needed to know was the Knifty Knitter!!!!

Marsha and Margaret: Will send directions to you....I pm'd both of you.

    Hugs to all,
    Denise

I mailed her afghan today, priority-out-of-country...for delivery within 3-4 days.....

Is there anyone who can get in touch with her via any method other than this site? I do have a way to track the package....I just know she hasn't been on this site due to computer problems....AND worry she won't recognize the return address.....Thanks

I know Shel won't be surprised...but I didn't want to take a chance that a package going out of the country would not be accepted by the recipient.....
    We love ya Shel.

P.S. There is still a surprise afghan waiting to meet its owner...

    AND...

    Another will be mailed Friday....so

There are still some surprises yet to be had!!!!

I do love surprises and it's always such a wonderful surprise whenever I open a new package of squares. Nathaniel actually opens them all now as he loves to see all the colors and patterns.

Oh My Goodness, I can’t stop crying
I worked late, came home, opened a package
And in the package is an AFGHAN, for me, with
Wonderful, touching, awesome words from all of you.
    I don’t deserve this afghan, I can’t stop crying,
    THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!
I make the afghans because it means so much to those that
receive them…it is truly a labor of love and you have
just shown me what this special love really is..
I truly can not find the words to express my gratitude
and love for all of you. I feel so very blessed to know each of you.
    Hugs, Madison
