Consider it done, Susan! I do my best crocheting when I've been drinking! Of course, I don't think I've sent Vickie two squares that were the same size yet!

I'll see you at Pinkstock with my wine glasses in hand!

We may need to find a discount booze shop! LOL

Maybe we should hi-jack a wine delivery truck

I am SOOOOOO ready for pinkstock! Is it August yet?? I'll bring my hooks and will give lessons too. Does anyone have one of those hats that holds a drink and has a straw that comes right to your mouth? That we we could drink and make squares without stopping

Ok, I'm on a roll now. I have 4 squares finished. Some are more rectanglish than others. Does perfection count? I'm getting better as I go. Now I need some help. I just ate 3 reeces chocolate eggs from my kids baskets. I'm talking the big ones. 180 calories each. Ack!!!! Chocolate evil evil.............

Suzaner keep your hands on the yarn and you won't have room for the chocolate! Don't worry about perfection we leave that to Madison and Vickie they work wonders with what we send them!

I just wanted to share with you all about our Knifty Knitters. My dd loves hers and bought the whole set of looms. She got some patterns off the internet and she's never done anything with crafts at all. This afternoon she made the cutest little blue baby hat with pom pom on top. It's adorable. Now she's working on a Hobo Bag purse. She's doing it in all different colors. She just really took to this. I'm stumbling along trying to get rectangles right! lol I'm getting them done though, nobody has complained so I guess they're alright. Anyway, just wanted you all to know that there's lots of stuff to do with the looms.

Cheri; Your dd sounds like mine, she is very crafty and talented..but she can look at anything and make it! She must have gotten her talent from the Milk Man, cuz she sure didn't get it from me! I'm about ready to try my hand at felting purses. DD has made some wonderful ones, of course she isn't "hip" to the KK and insists on using actual Knitting needles!

Are you using 1 or 2 strands of yarn in the squares? I tried a baby blanket (previous post) with 1 strand and it was way to loose. I've always used 2 strands with the squares, but decided to try a couple with 1 strand..It was just to loose and flimsy..wondered if it was just me or if others had the same experience.

    Gotta go, Mom's waiting!

Thanks Puppy for the kind words. They're pretty much coming out about the same size anymore.

Denise, I wrap 3 times and just pull 2 over 1. I have pulled 3 over 1 if the yarn is really thin, but mostly just the 2 over 1. I never use just one strand, too thin.

My dd wants to know what "felting purses" are.

Vickie, did you recieve your box today? It should've came either yesterday or today.

Felting is when you intentionaly shrink a wook object until it is thick and felted...all the strands holding together. You can knit or weave the yarn, or you can start with just wool roving and wash it in hot water and rub it until it is the shape and size you want.

    here are some instructions...
    http://www.outbackfibers.com/info/feltinginst.htm

It is really fun to do. I have done purses, hats and slippers as well as some cool wrapped homemade soap. The wool was shrunk all the way around the soap and it was like using a barof soap with a washcloth attached...very cool gifts.

Thanks Deb. But why don't people just buy felt? Ya see, that's why I don't do crafts! lol I printed off the instructions from your web site and my dd and I laughed cos it might as well have been in Chinese. Amber read the directions and said she'd need a whole window treatment, shade, and screen. lol We have laughed alot over these instructions cos we don't understand even the common terms. But we appreciate the website. It brightened our day.

Question about knifty knitting. Do you all use the technique that cheri describes: pull 2 or 3 over 1. I pull two over two. I use two strands of yarn. One from the inside of the ball of yarn and one from the outside.

Also, any of you KKers have any other patterns? I am using the figure 8 always.

    xo

I pull 2 over 2 with the KK. I did get a book, (the one Deb told us about), and spent last weekend learning a couple new stitches. I like the stitch but don't like the way the cast on, bind off looks. Gotta practice.

Cheri: No words for you girl. You crack me up! Buying felt would be much easier........not practical, but easy!

Deb: Thanks for the site on felting. I'll have to check it out!

Ah-Oh. I just pull 2 over 1. Humm. So how many times do you all wrap? I wrap 3 times. Does that mean you wrap 4? And if so, why? Now I am all confused...AGAIN! Oh well, nobody's complaining yet, so I guess it must be alright?

    Hi Cheri,

I think 1 over 3 or 2 over 2 works just fine. It's the strands of yarn that makes the difference. (Learned the hard way..the directions with KK don't tell squat!)
Just use to skeins of yarn and hold them together and work as one strand. You are probably already doing this. I don't want to confuse anyone if they aren't already doing this. So you are only wrapping twice, but you have four stitches on the peg (cuz of the 2 strands of yarn), Pull 2 over 2, wrap one more time and keep on going!
Hey it works for me, but I'm not the sharpest needle in the craft box either!

    Hey Dear Cheri:

Have to tell you that I "shared" your felting tip with my DD last night..Haven't heard her laugh that hard in a long time! She said, "Mom it seems like you are best friends with these ladies, and all the fun you have on line makes me (dd) happy."
She's right, best friends with all of ya!

    Hi girls,

I'm running off to a dance competition (no, I'm not dancing, my daughter is!), but I had to tell Cheri how hard I laughed at the felt comment! I'm a lazy crafter too -- Martha Stewart never has to worry that I'll take her job.

I'm off to hang out with the psycho dance moms and do hair and makeup all day! Hope everyone has a great day!

    Love,
    Sue

I found some felting instructions that I do believe I could actually do. lol But I still don't get the whole point of it all. Here are instructions even I could do:

    Felting Instructions
Place washing machine on hot wash, with lowest level of water. When full, place purse and handle in (along with old bath towel) and agitate for 6 minutes. DO NOT LET THE WASHER START THE RINSE CYCLE.

Check size and condition of purse – if acceptable, let spin dry. You may need to shape somewhat during this process. If you would like a tighter felt, agitate another 6 minutes. Continue this process until you get the desired weave and size.

Remove from washer and shape purse for drying. You may have to give the flap section a couple of ‘firm tugs’ to block, but not too hard, the felting will tear if you pull too hard.

Place flat on towels for the drying process, which may take up to 24 hrs.

That really doesn't sound like alot of fun but apparently I'm too dumb to realize that it is. hahaha I'll be darned if I can understand it.
