Ok between mom sis and me I have 27 completed squares and I'll try to get them out this weekend when I can think straight. I split the colors between the two of you
-

Way to go Susan!!!!! Wait till you can recognise one of your squares in an afghan picture. It's very exciting. I may have to try the knifty knitter some time for a change.
I love this project!
Sue -
Yeah, woo hoo and a rooty toot toot! Susan is officially a Knifty Knitter!
Gotta share a "FYI" story....Only I could have managed this.
I have made so many squares that I decided to try my hand (and knifty knitter) on a small afghan for Granddaughter. I had little bits of different colors left over. But not enough of any one color. Soooo...............to make a long story short, I decided to use just ONE strand of thread on each square. WRONG! Way to stretchy and loose. As I was picking unraveled yarn out of my washing machine, I thought I'd better share my experience!
So, Moral of the story, for all of us Knifty Knitters out there....Make sure you use 2 strands of yarn.
Hey, live and learn, right!!
Hugs,
Denise -
I have just gone to town on knitting. I'm sitting here looking at all the pretty bright colors stacked up on my printer. They all look so 'springy'. I think I've got about 17 right now but will have more by monday when they're shipped out. These will go to Vickie cos I just sent out a whole bunch to Madison last week. I've got rolls of yarn everywhere. I change colors after each rectangle so it doesn't get so boring then I start back through. I even have Cammo yarn that my dd found. She made sock hats for her boys outta Cammo and they are sooo cute. I figure I'll save that yarn for fall and winter cos right now I am into Spring! This is so much fun.

Denise too funny about the washing machine. I tried using the KK with just one strand at first and that's why I didn't like it. I couldn't see how it was gonna stay together. I had yarn falling all over the place. then I saw where Jasmine said use two yarns and I was going great.
s. -
Susan.....Cheri............
I learned a new stitch!!!! You're right Susan, one strand doesn't get it. I think I forgot (nice grammar!) that Jasmine was Knifty Kniting too!
Robin: Did you get a Knifty Knitter yet?
Hugs,
Denise -
HELLO EVERYONE...haven't forgotten about any of you..still working on afghans..
I have received more squares in the mail....the next few afghans are going to be GORGEOUS!!! I have enough bordered for one entire afghan and will start putting it together tonight.
Thanks bunches, Hugs, Madison -
Hi Madison...I have one afghan ready to go out to EE and another one almost finished. I haven't checked in here either...sorry ladies...too busy crocheting!
Your the greatest.
Hugs
Vickie -
hehehehe....have some squares or something that resemble squares.....vicki...invite EE to pinkstock...hmmm...
MB -
Madison and Vickie,
I got 2 partial skeins of black yarn from my MIL. Would that be of use to you for edges or joining? Or should I go ahead and make some squares out of it?
Anne -
Hi ladies,
Can't wait to see the newest of Afghans! I haven't abandoned ship, I was working on a "project" for a bit. I have 12 or so squares here and will get back to the squares today! I've been working on a new stitch.....Stockinette, or something similar. I really like it but using 2 strands of yarn, like we do with KK was to stiff. The thing stood up all by itself! So, back to the regular stitch for a bit, and then I'll try a couple new ones again!
Hugs,
Denise -
FYI:: I just looked at the JoAnn's ad for the week. You can buy the SETs of either round looms or straight looms for $6 off. They aren't very expensive to start with so that is a really good buy!
I think JoAnn's is a franchise and is all over the place, but if not try the web site.
Hugs,

Hi girls. I have almost 25 squares done in bright, spring colors. I'll do a few more today and try and get them in tomorrows mail. These will go to Vickie because the last big box went to Madison.

Hello all,
Can I join this afghan train? I have read all the posts from the beginning and had a great time getting to know you all. Cheri, your persistence is commendable. Anyway, I just learned to crochet a little while ago. Tried my hand at knitting ,but it was too hard for me. Maybe a left-handed thing? I can't do anything too fancy, but rectangles I think I can manage. I just can't imagine the feeling the recipients must feel when they get one of these. I was at the Martha Stewart show last Oct when she did the special BC show. I now have a contact at her show and I think this is something Martha should know about? Anyway, I have 2 squares done and will get the addresses of where to send them when I have more. Keep up the good work ladies.
Suzanne -
Welcome Suzanne, the more the merrier!
Yeah I have my first set in the mail. sent 14 to Vickie and 14 to Madison! you should get them in a couple days, Hubby sent them priority mail today!
I have started on the next batch.
can't wait to see more picture of the next ones! -
Welcome Suzanne, you bet you can join in! I have really worked at this because it's such a good project. I have no crafting talent at all so it's really cool to see a pic of an afghan that I actually have rectangles in. It's a very good feeling. So welcome aboard!

anyway...Suzanne...hmmm...I could use some help getting information for pinkstock...if you would want to help me I would love it...martha and all...and check it out, if you live close...
bringing my crocheting to work tomorrow...this si way too fun...
hugs all

Hi ladies,
Im not going to be out of crocheting as long as I thought ...had surgery yesterday for that node.....it turned out that it wasnt a node at all but a scar tissue covered cyst....he did put a drain in though ....but I can deal with that considering what the other alternative could have been....the drain will be in until Monday so not too bad.
I plan to try and see how the crocheting goes here in a day or to, but I am having a hystorectomy the 18th and will be cooped up for a couple of weeks with that so can crochet to my hearts content...
If you ladies have more yarn you would like to share I would be happy to work it up.
Vickie & Madison...I have tons of squares made now and will try package them and get them off to you later this week....
Hugs
Jule -
Jule,
Yippee, Wonderful news! The drain stinks but I'm so happy to hear it was a cyst!
Sue -
Great news, Jule! Hope the drain comes out soon. In the meantime, don't get the yard tangled with it; that would hurt!
Anne -
Welcome Suzanne, glad you joined us. Please let us know when you want our addresses to mail squares. Vickie and I send PM's to everyone...
Jule, great news!!! -
Welcome Suzanne! It's so wonderful to see this project growing. As Madison says you can pm either of us and we will give you our address.
MB...if you crochet hearts I can just stitch them onto squares! That would be fun and cute too.
Jule...I have 15 bags of yarn!!! I will send you some this week...I have a couple of others I need to send yarn to also I just haven't had a chance.
I have the EE afhgan done (already posted a pic of that one)and another almost finished that I will post later this week.
You girls are the best
Hugs and love
Vickie -
Glad your hand is doing good, Jule! And a welcome to Suzanne! Trust me, talent is not needed. Before I became determined to do this...I had never bought a skein of yarn! Lost count as to the number of squares I have done, but that doesn't matter. In this project it is "the thought that counts!"
Madison and Vickie do a wonderful job putting these together for us! Love em, and all the helpers too!!
Hugs,
Denise -
Jpann, great news!!! so happy for you. crochet away!!!
suzanne, I'm left handed too. I learned how to single crochet but the double crochet made me crazy so now I'm a fan of the knifty knitter!! Welcome.
All Praise to Madison and Vickie. Our heroes!!!
And to Cheri who provides us with blew rinks. ooopps. wrong thread. forget that!
susan -
Hi girls,
I mailed each of you a package yesterday.
Hugs
Liz -
Vickie, I mailed you a package with 27 rectangles by 2 day express yesterday. So you should get them on thursday. Normally, I would've split them but I'd sent Madison a big box last time so this one went to Vickie. I'll split the next group.
