Denise, the afghan you see posted above absolutely wanted to be sent to our special person today.....it is in the mail already. We all sent hugs and love to this person. If you want to know where it is traveling...send me a PM.
Vickie, wow I agree with Denise, our traveling afghan - I would love to hear of its journey. I am so glad it finally arrived at their offices.
Okay, gotta work
Just came in from the Physical Terrorist
Server didn't back up last night....grrrrrr
Thank you all so much....
Started on a new afghan last night
Could not do any of this without all of your wonderful work
Love ya'll,
Madison -
Madison it is beautiful.
My daughter jasmine gets mine everytime she sits down and covers up with it,she says it is so warm and cozy she just loves it also.
I am 45 and have been hooking since i was 16 and plan on doing so until they lay me in the ground, then just put in some yarn and hooks so i can have sometime to do while waiting for the Lord to come.
Madison,i dont know you very well but I do know greatness when I see it and you and all the other ladies on here are great. -
Robin, I learned at a very early age too from my gm and my mom. Keep enjoying your afghan knowing Madison and Vickie infused all our love into it!
-
Hi all, well I guess I am a hooker. Hanging around Cheri finally got to me. Just don't let DH find out. BTW I finished another rectangle last night. I'm on fire!!!
denise, did you get the address list you were looking for? If you didn't pm me and I'll send you one. -
Susan, wow you finished another rectangle? Whew-weeee! You are smokin, girl! I just finished 3 since you've been here. I haven't been exactly the ball of fire you've been. But I'll get these finished up that I'm working on and shipped out of here then I can go back to the others. I just have 4 more to go before I mail them, but since I won't send em til Monday I'm gonna try to do 6. The last afghan that was mailed out to someone had some of my rectangles in it. Gee, made me feel so good...and so silly for not figuring this knitter or the crocheting out by now! And I worked steady at the crocheting. That is just sad. And hey, hey, hey what is this 'hanging out with Cheri' thing? I believe it was you that started that whole wild fling....never mind. OOOPS, almost said too much. Shhh

Working on some squares .
This is just too much fun!!! I can't let Suzola and Cheri have all the fun.
Cheri, Just sent you a PM -
finally!!! Madison and Vicki, you have squares on the way. I didn't weave in the ends. Wasn't sure how to do it. Sorry.
I love the latest. That heart square is to pickin cute. Who made that one? I wanna know how pretty please. -
Boo/Sue made the heart....she is gonna have to teach us.
I know Vickie said she has a heart in the afghan that she just completed.
Madison -
Yes, Boo/Sue love the heart. Wonder how you do that on a knifty knitter. LOL
-
Hey Susan,
That would be a good knifty knitter project. I nominate you to figure out the Heart and teach the rest of us!!!!
Hugs,
Denise -

Madison..another masterpiece...gracias
-
Ok...a picture of the newest afghan...
hope this isn't too big.
this is an afghan that we are planning on sending to Elizabeth Edwards. I am thinking that if any of you would like to include a personal message to her you can pm the message to me and I will print them all (I have some really pretty paper)and I will write a "cover letter" and include it all in the box.
Hope to mail it Monday as our Executive Director is calling his "connections" (he has many) to get her address and explain what we are doing without her knowing the surprise.
Hope this is ok with everyone.
Love and hugs
Vickie
I have another one layed out and started...I'm on a roll ladies!! You are the BEST!!! -
Madison...how are you taking your pictures so they look square? I've tried standing on the couch and taking a picture looking down on it...tried sitting at the end and snapping a pic...everything! What's the trick sweetie!
-
that is so cool to send an afghan to EE. I'll write a note.
-
Vickie,
Another beautiful job on the afghan. I love the idea of sending it to Eliabeth Edwards -- I'll send you a note for her.
Hugs,
Sue -
Beautiful, Vickie! Wow, 2 going out in one day...You girls are on a roll! I will pm you a short message to include to EE.
Hugs,
Denise -
I should have taken pictures of the squares I made cause I can't for the life of me remember what they looked like now! ROFL! The afgans are beautiful!
-
I'm getting the hang of this knifty knitter and it is pretty nifty. Squares stacked up all over the puter desk and skeins of yarn all stacked beside it. Could ship some off tomorrow but I don't have a box to put them in and if I wait until Monday then I'll have more to ship. This is rather enjoyable. I like that we're doing a good thing and having fun too.
I got my little task completed tonight Denise. And Jazmanian, I can halfway tell which ones are mine cos I still have part of the skeins staring at me. I switch back and forth colors so I don't end up sending a whole bunch just alike and then I have the rest later. -
Vickie, the afghan is beautiful. The heart square is perfect.
I place the afghan on the floor - stand away from it and take the picture. I also tried standing on the chair or sofa. I am 5'9" so maybe my height helped.
Love and Hugs, Madison -
Wow Vickie the afghan looks great. I hope we can get it to EE and that she will understand our show of support. I'll PM you a note for her. Are you signing our names or BC.org board names or just anonomous notes from us as a group? Not that it really matters to me, I'm just curious.
Oh ladies the heart squares are not very hard just kind of time consuming. That's why I have only made a few. I make the square out of single crochet and then crossstich the heart on. Working on some other picture ideas also.
Hugs,
Sue -
Will EE actually even see the afghan we send and know where it came from or did I miss a post? Will security even let it get to her, personally? Will she have so many other things from organizations and people that send her things that she doesn't ever even see this afghan? Just a thought. I mean these are important to us, but she's gonna have alot of stuff coming in. I just wondered if we'd lost in the shuffle.

Sue, just wanted to let you know I have a book of cross-stitch designs to put on the squares. That was so clever! It looks wonderful and the heart is terrific to show our love. Tell me what you are looking for in a pattern and I can send them to you or whoever else needs them. I can scan the page and email it. PM or email me, bethpknits-pink@yahoo.com. It has tons of patterns, all seasons and holidays too I think.
I had to take a break from squares for a while. Needed to get a jump on Mother's Day presents. Also, need to hurry and finish the baby afghan as our niece just had the baby 6 weeks early. She is beautiful though but it breaks your heart looking at her in the incubator. Our niece, Jen is coming home tonight and I will be making a couple preemie caps for baby Kayla too.
Happy hooking gals! -
Cheri...our executive director knows several people in government positions (I can't say who but a couple of senators, governors etc.)and he made some calls to get her actual home address and to have someone give her the message that she will be receiving a package from us. Not sure if it will work or not but I will know for sure by Monday afternoon. We may not be able to get her home address and if not we may be able to send it to his convention center (in NC?)and have them contact her to let her know it is there. One way or another it should work out ok.
-
I see, so we're not just sending this off blindly. That's good if you have connections.

cheri -
Yeah Cheri! Your project is done! Isn't the knifty knitter thing just knifty??!! Your house sounds like mine, I've got looms and yarn and squares and boxes all over!! Love it though.
Hugs,
Denise -
where can i get a knifty knitter? that is the only way I am gonna learn to knit.Does walmart carry them? I bet hobby lobby does.
-
Robin, my dd picked me up the rectangle one and it was between $9-11 at Wal-Mart. It's easy, and fun and it's the only way I could become a part of this project. I'm still going to learn to hand crochet but the knitter is so easy. They're probably carried at alot of places but all we have here in town is Wal-Mart.

Amen Sisters! Knifty Knitters are the way to go. Atleast for the lesser talented ones! I have them all! 4 different circles and 4 different straight looms. JoAnns and Michaels carry them all. Haven't tried WalMarts. If you can't find them Robin, let me know and I'll get you one and send it to you.
Hugs,
Denise
