I have a fitbit and always do a workweek hussle with my fitbit friends. The challengeneral starts at Momay at 12 am and goes to Friday at 12 pm. Right now my total steps are 101,032. I should bust 106,000 for this week. Which almost puts be back to pre-LX steps.
-
Karen- hope the oncologist visit went well. You're a good daughter to take care of your mom so well
-
Yoga this morning & a nice walk this afternoon.
-
Falconer, thanks. Taking care of Mom is more than I bargained for, but it is my mother and I love her dearly. She was a great Mom growing up and we've always been close.
Oncologist visit was uneventful. Same questions every visit. I quit AI's early and oncologist tells me every visit there is nothing new, but if I ever want to try them again....He says it with a smile on his face knowing my answer. He continues to keep me on a six month schedule 11 years after diagnosis. Since I don't see BS or PS I have not pushed to lessen the frequency. I'm also no good about seeing PCP. I'm due for a physical and colonoscopy. Also think I'm due for a Dexa scan. Will get lab r silts on Monday....will check patient portal to print them off.
Drizzling out and supposed to get 3-6 inches snow tomorrow, but they say most will melt.
Well, spring break has come to an end. And of course I didn't get as much done as I hoped to.....didn't do any paper work so I have lots to do Monday. It's a no student contact day.
Have a great weekend.
-
Glad for the uneventful doctor's visit, Karen. If spring break is over that means summer break is soon to come!
-
Wonderland, ohhhhhh. Never saw that before. Does it smell nice?
-
Did a 50 minute Denise Austin DVD called Sculpt & Burn. It was good; 5 minute warm up, 10 minute sections each of martial arts, athletic conditioning, kettlebell-like exercises with one weight, cardio & plus weights, and a 5 minute cool down. Happy Saturday!!
-
Happy Saturday back at'cha! Going to be a nice day. Will walk to the library then the grocery for a few things this afternoon. Lots of leftovers in the 'fridge so we're having smorgasbord for supper tomorrow. Also plan to get out into the yard and tidy up a bit. Tulips and daffodils are coming up and the yellow crocus is already in bloom. Yay Spring!
Met my Friday walking friend and we walked 30 mins at a good clip in the Capitol yesterday.
-
I finally saw some ROBINS on Thursday, so spring has sprung in North Dakota!!
-
Yay! They were here a couple of weeks ago but you're further North.
-
Exercise today. . .baby steps walking around a couple of stores. Managed to find new furniture for ds (almost 15) on sale today. Dh and dd get to move all the stuff around later when the furniture is delivered.

We used to get robins down here, during the winter, but I haven't seen any for several years. Maybe they aren't coming this far anymore or are going straight on into Mexico. Same with the snow geese. The fields used to be white with the geese, but we don't see them anymore either.
-
So glad your doctors visit was uneventful Karen. Scottie glad to hear you are taking it easy.
Last night drove to San Diego for Body Jam, wonder why I drive almost 90 miles to do a class, well here's why... cute instructors.... I actually adore these guys they are so sweet and areamazing dancers
and I got myself so fancy new dancing shoes.
This morning I did the new release of Body Combat. I am very proud of myself as I didn't think I would be able to do it as they had added a lot of crazy moves this round but I did the whole class and felt really strong.
-
Hello All,
Just an update from Florida.....Summer has arrived!!! I am beginning to think I may move farther north!! Hot now until October! Ugg
Trying to do a lot of indoor exercise Walk Away the Pounds - 5 mile classes, Zumba, Step aerobics and Strength and Tone. Wish my body would show some results!!!
Lynn

Hi Lynn, glad to hear from you. As jealous as I am of people who live in the south during the winter, I could not do the hot/hot/hot weather of your summers. I would rather be cold! You will be jealous when I say that it was sunny, calm, and in the lower 60s here today. I dog-napped the grand-puppy and took her for a walk after I was done with my 'Saturday List', just because it was too nice not to be outside!
Very nice 'scenery' in your picture, Cheryl
-
Falconer: I wish the pine needles had a pine smell but they don't smell at all. The are dusty and dirty when you start breaking the bale apart to spread. They make you filthy! Plus the dust goes up your nose and you blow out dirt. BUT they sure are pretty once you spread them!
Karen: Glad you had an uneventful onc visit. Those are the best!
Good to hear from you again Mysunshine! Yuck about the hot weather. I'm not ready for it.
Cheryl: Digging your new shoes and digging your dance instructors!
Scottie: How nice that you were able to get out for some walking plus find your son new furniture. Hope you are doing well.
Badger: I really like your new picture!
Hi Everybody. We had a gorgeous day - almost like Ruth's except our high was almost 70. Huge Carolina blue sky - perfect for the Final Four game which I am watching as I type this. I think it's a good omen. I push mowed for 2 hours and 20 minutes with very little sweat. Very invigorating.

I am so with you! I have lived here for 38 years & still can't deal with the heat. I go from my air conditioned house to my air conditioned car to (used to be my air conditioned job) an air conditioned store. I came here to meet my fiance's family and he found a great job (I'm not entirely sure it wasn't a set-up to keep him in Texas). I am from Michigan, and I miss it so much. I prefer to be cold, too.
-
~Ladies~
I have noticed that many of you put personal quotes or Oncotype Dx & age @ diagnoses. How do you do that?
-
Go to 'Settings' (which is on the bar on the left-hand side of the page on my laptop) and you can edit whatever information you want. If you go down the setting page, you will come to "Signature", that is where you would put a quote or saying.

hi all and welcome VelvetPoppy! Such a nice Spring day yesterday. Got in a walk plus several hours Garden & Sculpt. Pruned that Trumpet Creeper vine and started looking at support options. I'd rather have it growing upward than sprawled across the lawn. Picked up sticks and cleaned up several planting beds. Rhubarb is just coming up, little pink nubs in the dirt.
Decided against the Reclast due to its long half-life and potential SE. Doc agreed and proposed Fosamax, which is a daily oral med vs. an annual IV infusion. She wants to test vit D level before starting so I have time to research the new option. I also want to talk to my dentist before starting a bisphosphonate as it can affect the jawbone.
Wonderland, we so enjoyed Riders in the Sky! Ranger Doug can still yodel but to me the star of the show was Woody Paul, King of the Cowboy Fiddlers.
My new avatar is the Liberty mosaic in the WI state Capitol. I really like it too. :-)
-
Went for a walk today and then I did some organizing to make room for my warmer weather wardrobe. Making dinner in a bit.
-
Thank you, ruth

CX Works, Body Flow and Body Combat this morning I was really lagging half way through Combat. It was an Initial filming for a brand new very nervous instructor and they just needed the numbers. LB I loved the new Flow, didn't think I would with the two Vinyassa but I got through them and OMG I didn't think the hamstring stretch would ever end.

Hey all - I'm back from beautiful New Zealand safe and sound. Will post some pix when I can. First week of vacay had lots of walking and hiking but second week not so much - gained 5 lbs😢. Hoping a bit of that may still be water retention as ankles are still a bit chubby from long flights yesterday. Absolutely gorgeous and very friendly country. Stark beauty in the mountains, fertile beauty in the valleys and farmlands, lush beauty in the rainforests, all evidence of the Hand of God in creation. Two thumbs up as a place to experience 👍👍!

Yoga this morning. Upped it to level 1/2, rather than take a level 1 class. Had to modify some poses, as my left side is kaput until I get this TE out. At least that's what I hope, that my strength will return once my pectoral muscle is where it is supposed to be.
We East Coasters received your lovely weather here today. Spent the rest of the afternoon outside with my boys. I mostly just looked at the yard work that has to get done. Wonderland, we get free wood chips from the town to spread around as mulch. Not sure I'll have much of a garden this year.
HBCheryl, you look great, and your accoutrements are adorable. -
Hi all,
For those of us that were athletes before BC and have to suppress our ovaries because of the hormone positive status, how do you re-gain muscle lost since now all hormones including testosterone are pretty non-existent? I lost a good amount of muscle during chemo, about month 4-5 is when I started to notice, a total of #15 lbs since diagnosis in late June. Of course that wasn't all muscle loss but a good amount was. im just wondering how I'm going to gain it back? I'm starting with weight training all over again and slowly getting on the exercise routine again. Obviously I'm thankful each and every day but, this does sit a bit on my mind since I was a triathlete and crossfitter prior to BC. I was diagnosed at 42 years young. Thank you for you input and may God continue to bless us.

Gorgeous day here in Denver. Didn't get to spend enough time outside, but did get a couple nice walks in. Tuesday snow is predicted!!! We didn't get the snow that was forecast for yesterday, but we did get a little bit of rain.
Tomorrow is back to the grind. It is a work day/professional development day. Kids return on Tuesday. Busy week for me. I have a class on Tuesday after work and an appointment on Thursday at 4:00. I need to be really good with my time getting my kitchen ready for Passover, so no goofing off at night. Today I cleaned my ovens and dusted the dining room. I need to clean my frig and clean a couple kitchen cabinets. Saturday night I will start cooking and cook all day Sunday. Next Monday night is the first sedar and I'm working on Monday. I'm also working the next 3 Fridays to make up for taking time off for Passover so it will be like when I worked full time. I did it for many, many years. On time I commented to my son who is 27, that I don't know how I did it, working full time all those years and his response was "your were younger then and you didn't have breast cancer"! Gotta love that kid!! But I did work full time during treatment and the next couple years, but it really took its toll on me. My DD#1 and SIL arrive next Sunday morning and are here for 10 days. I love them, and love them visiting, but 10 days is almost too long!!! Did I say that??
Missing DD#2. I haven't talked to her since last Monday. I knew I wouldn't be talking to her while she was on the Poland trip. She gets back to Israel early Tuesday morning, Israel time, so I will get to talk to her Tuesday. This is the first year that she is not here for Passover so it will be weird. She wasn't here for the fall holidays which was different too. The joys of empty nesting!!!
Better get busy. Sweet dreams.

Nice avatar, Badger!
You're welcome, Velvet. We girls who'd rather be cold have to stick together!
Glad you are safely home, Sweet. I am looking forward to the pictures!
Welcome Blessed. It is SLOW work to get back on track. I was post-menopausal, but on hormones (yes, I know......very, very, very dumb) so the whole getting off them, doing chemo, and then Armidex was quite the shock to my system too. I once read that as long as you were in 'active' treatment, it will take that long again to get back to 'normal', but I would say it's more like double the time. But it CAN be done.
It was more damp & windy today so I did the dreadmill and some toning and called it good.
-
Welcome Blessed2016, good to have you here. Ruth is right it is a slow slog back, yet with your level of fitness before dx, it will come back faster than most. If you were to concentrate on tri training (little and often), cycling, swimming and running and worked on the box jump that would be a safe way forward. This is a good link in regards to lifting and lymphedema: http://www.stepup-speakout.org/Weightlifting%20and%20Lymphedema.htm Personally, I'm not convinced about the safety of weight lifting with a high number of nodes removed or having had a full clearance. I'd be very cautious about weight progression, particularly the overhead press. S&S, welcome home and is Auckland as expensive (saw on instagram yesterday a sign saying a omelette was $22 -ekk!) as I think it is? Cheryl, I've taught #76 4x's now (nailed the cues) and those sun sals, especially the second one is the quickest to date - a speedy 8 count. That is what my recent quarterly focused on and overall, the feedback of #76 thus far has been positive and everyone likes the music - and I use cover - remarkably excellent. Filming is a pain, getting numbers, studio that is free, etc.. and the reason why I've not sent in an Aim2 yet, so good on you for helping new instructors get through. Mary, I'm adding that I'm sorry to read of your upcoming shoulder surgery. I had frozen shoulder after my initial surgery and one injection shifted it. I hope all goes smoothly for you.
I've been working this weekend on my Pilates case study, the last of what I need to turn in and this detailed 26 page study is wearing and using hubby as the study - never again.
No Pink Pilates until the 24th (off for Easter Break and had phone calls last week from two new women who want to join - yay!) so It's Blockfit this afternoon and Body Balance tonight.
-
I am not a 'weight lifter', but do lift light weights a couple times a week. I started out just doing the motions with no weights, then did soup cans, 1 pounds, 3 pounds etc. slow, slow, slow.
I have a dog walking date this afternoon and will go to yoga tonight. Right now I am attempting to weed out clothes closets and drawers. I don't wear at least half of the things I own (out of style, too 'dressed up' for my retired life, or "what the heck was I thinking when I bought this?" are the three main categories
).
