    Chevy probably knows. You filled a soda bottle with water, stuck this on, sprinkled your clothes lightly, then ironed them. Instant steam.

    I recognize many of those old appliances. Popping corn in sand is fascinating! And those fruit look like a red bell pepper with a large kidney bean hanging off of it. Cool looking.

    I don't have a picture, but I do have an old drill that belonged to my father,,, it has a metal body,,, they don't make them like that any more. And you have to use a key to change the bits. I still use it!

    Rose, I really hope it is not Herceptin-hepatotoxicity ...not that the other alternative is any better. Forgot to ask if you are taking Percocet. Just wondering if the two together could be the culprit.

    I'm only out of my pjs because somehow it's just not proper to feed goats and walk to the mailbox in them haha. Esp. since I live on the corner.

    Loved the pics of the cashews. Smurf house lol.

    Your crafts Susan are like my recipes. You can't have too many crafts you want to make or too many recipes right? DH accuses me of bookmarking the entire internet.

    Love Pentatonix. They won the 3rd season of NBC's "The Sing Off" which brought them into national prominence. I just put on the Christmas youtube. Thanks for the suggestion.

    I certainly remember the sprinkler head thing. Seems mom stored the sprinkled clothes in the shower overnight but not longer or they would mildew. I iron very sporadically. Has to be something terrific for me to buy anything that needs ironing because I will never see it again haha. I even bought a teeny tabletop board which doesn't get any more use. Been sorting out summer/winter clothes. Heavens I might have to iron something.

    Jazzy - my dear MIL loved Dr. John. She would have been nearly 95 now. If you ever get to Austin please let me know.

    Mags and Beatmon, Susan and Queenie - what fun y'all. MemaSue I looked up Sachse. I think I might have said this b4 - we bought our 1st house at the intersection of Miller and Centerville in 1977, a Fox & Jacobs. How close Sachse is to that. Maybe when you can drive again (part I missed - ? cataract surgery?) we can meet up. Sassy says you believe an hour from me but I think Sacshe is at least 1.5. My brother lives in Allen. No E/W roads that way. I did drive myself to far N Irving 635/George Bush when I went to Love Field to pick up DD. Nice shopping out there. Those roads out by N DFW confuzzle the heck out of me.

    Rosie - you need a break! What was that old commercial - You need a break today! I think radiated bone does ache as it heals. The alk phos pray it's just a flukey thing.

    We went on our twice year trip to OK, our "camping" in a 3 bedroom cabin. Eat, play cards, Rain!, very wet firewood. I managed to drink only one soda and no adult beverages. Mostly hot tea. Coolish too. Of course Mon/Tues were beautiful. Cloudly, humid, warmish now, setting up for more storms overnight. Slight tornado threat.

    Might have to do some cleaning. My indulgence The Young and The Restless is going off now.

    Luvmygoats- I will certainly let you know when I am in the area again. My friend who lives there wanted me to come visit for ACL last month, but we had a family wedding back east at the same time. I would love to check that out sometime. You may see me some day over your way!

    Yes, of course I know what that is~! You would stick it into a pop-bottle, filled with warm water, and sprinkle your clothes, and then roll them up, and put them in a big plastic bag overnight... then you would iron them the next morning..... with your dry iron.... Don't think we had a steam iron for years! And do you remember perma-starch?

    I think you diluted it, and soaked your piece in there, then hung it on the line, and then ironed it. Remember our crinoline's?

    Yes, Jazzy and Goats, we must when we can get together. I drive everywhere just not as much right now. When I signed up for cataradt surgery I decided to go with a high power lense so I'd never have to wear glasses again. I knew it'd be a long month and that's proving true. One eye works really well but the old one is still cloudy and doesn't see too well so it's always a balancing act. Gets old by nighttime. I can't wait for the next one to be done the first of December.

    I started the 5th grandbaby's quilt. It's minions...gonna hand piece the front only. Damn eyes. Kid will be grown by the time it's done. BBL

    mema, I think lilgoats had cataracts done too. hoot her out. hope it eases up soon.

    I just gave away by wooden ironing board, the sprinkler thingy was aiways in the vernors bottle. the toaster flippers were in Lindsay, Ontario at mom's family. ...electric toasters had already taken over in the city.

    this morning, the voice after the MRI was done. I'm going to take some extra films, it'll be about 14 minutes more"

    Sassy - nope not me DH did. I wish I could get mine done. I guess I just don't complain enough to my glaucoma doc. That's coming up next month so maybe I need to practice my petulant whiny voice. I know where to go, same place DH and friend had their's done. Wonder if they take walk in's? DH had his done 12 years ago so he had just the old fashioned implants. He's back to wearing glasses for driving but he can read OK now. I think he could get a laser tweak adjustment but with him it's not going to happen and I cannot hog tie him and drag him down there.

    What MRI did you have done today? Praying that all results are primo!! That's one thing along with a PET that I've not had done. I would have to be majorly sedated I think.

    MRIs are LOUD!!! Shut your eyes before you go in and keep them closed, not bad.PETs are even easier, not as close and quiet.

    LMG , I guess we talked about your DH. You had the glaucoma thing. Yup, I'd like to get the cataract done too. Night driving is getting more twinkly and starry-eyed. Only drive in a pinch at night.

    I remember my first MRI,, no one told me how loud it was going to be. Thought I was inside of a kettle drum. Now they give you earplugs.

    I just pretend it's kids banging on pots and pans.

    I've heard of Claritin for bone pain. Wonder if it will help with rads? I'm thinking about trying it if mine start up after the xgeva shot.

    I had a longer post and lost it.

    The new American breakfast tea says it has 50% more caffeine. Still not as good as "real" Irish tea. Must go on road trip to get some. Local groceries only carrying decaf????

    Love the cashew pix. Never knew it either.

    Just brought home one of those irons.

    Checked out the music. Cool.

    Zills - what is a good Irish tea? I made the Celestial Seasonings watermelon/lime yesterday. Heavy on something not sure if hibiscus or rose hips but pretty good. I just searched thru Celestial Seasonings site. Lots of stuff I've never seen. I forgot I bought a bottle of shelf stable dirty chai latte. Might be good for tomorrow. Decaf tea - meh. I think I might have one kind but lots of herbals for cold weather.

    I take a daily Claritin just for grins. Couldn't hurt with the allergens around here and if it helps with aches so much the better.

    OH MY DOG what an AWFUL night this has been.

    I found a holistic vet who does dentals on dogs with no anastesia? I liked that idea. Made an appt for Kris, his teeth were really yucky. For 3:30. Supposed to only be about 25-30 for the procedure. DH took him.

    5:30 not home yet. Called DH. What's going on?

    Kris is lost.

    WHAT?

    They swaddled him for the cleaning, and he was fine. Bringing him back to DH he wiggled loose, jumped out of techs arms, and ran.

    Vet cancelled rest of appts, rode with DH for 2 hours looking for him in heavy rush hour traffic. I called the rescue group we got him from, they had microchipped him. Thank Dog. He'd been caught and taken to an ER vet in west tampa, scanned, and rescue notified.

    Called the vet, got directions, got him back. He's got a little cut on one foot, front leg hurts, probably from the jump. Very tired, stressed. But home.

    Spookie- Holy cow what a story! That's a pet owners worst nightmare. The pet takes a run for it as the door is a jar and takes off. What luck you found him and he's fine! Leash for that pup at all times after that. What a story you have now; one you didn't want I am sure!

    Oh Spookie I had trauma just reading that! My Rose is a runner, if there's a crack in the door or the gate, she's gone like a flash. At our old house it was bad enough, but a remote neighborhood where she was pretty safe. She's a cheetah - really fast but tires quickly. But here, we are around the corner from a major thoroughfare, and when a storm took down our crabapple tree and it fell on the fence, it pulled the gate open, and she was gone before we knew there was a problem. Cousin and I hopped in the car and chased after her, me in my nightie, she ran out into the road, then back into the neighborhood and down the street. She was tiring out when a neighbor stooped down to say hi to her and I was able to grab her while she was being social. We've decided it's not that she wants to get away from us, just that her schnauzer blood makes her adventurous and she just wants to explore everything. We can't keep a collar on her because Nacho pulls it off every time. So yes, I worry, and we keep a gate inside the front door. We get nervous when we have workers here. Our friend who redid the back yard has had the occasion to chase her, so he knows how it goes.

    Did you beat Kris pink & purple?

    Aww geez!!! Kris, the escape artist ( I remember you mentioned he ran away from his previous owner, right?), was probably traumatized by the cleaning. Poor baby. I would keep that vet too. Lesson learned by his staffs, I am sure.

    The vet had a trailer parked behind the pet store. They were bringing him back in to DH. His leash was attached, but NOT looped around the techs hand!!

    Isn't that dog school 101? Yes, he is a runner. He ran from his first family.

    He had his dinner, a big drink, 1/4 tramadol, and they went to bed.

    I wish I could have a big Scotch and soda.

    spooks, glad that was a happy ending. Trauma day for all of you. They can have tramadol?? That would help my little one. 14 years, gives them aches and pains.

    Spookie, How absolutely scary. So happy Kris is ok and you have him back. Everyone should microchip their dogs and cats. The shelter scans every animal that comes in and every effort is made to find the owner.
