Intothewoods - let us know how we can get a copy! I'm very interested in Tai Chi and a video would be fantastic so I can do it at home!

Caryn - took a cheese making class a few years ago. It was really fun and I want to do more!

Still chilly here, but no ice on the windscreen this morning. Did an hour of collecting in front of the rail station on behalf of Kitten Inn this morning. Got about $100! And there was a guy playing blues and alternative rock on his guitar in front of the station too, so got to listen to him while basking in the sunshine. And almost no wind! Great fun for a great cause and met some really nice people.

Just tasted it again and I think I have inadvertently made keshmesh paneer. Say what? Keshmesh paneer is a fresh cheese eaten with raisins in Afghanistan. It is quite good and brings back memories of my Peace Corps days. Now I'm more keen than ever to perfect my fresh cheese making skills 😍

Exbrnxgrl I'm impressed! I love growing my own veggies at home, but "growing" my own cheese... If I got that right, with my Dutch blood & love for dairy I'd have a fridge (& tummy) full!!

I'm yawning this morning - went out with book club friends to a Q&A evening with South Africa's retired super-cop. He was the top detective who specialised in serial killers. Put away 9 of them from the 1990s onwards. Macabre & chilling, especially when children were involved, & my mind can't get around what he's seen in his career, but so interesting.

A follow up on today's fun. Port flush uneventful, mo visit very good. We are going to stick to the every 6 month PET schedule (we discussed going to annual, but that made me nervous). Also discussed going back on a bisphosphonate, but for me, she thought it wouldn't be beneficial. Then, I showed her a small red patch on my upper chest...within hours I was on a dermatologist's table having it excised (lots of lidocaine, no pain). Derm is fairly certain that it's basal cell carcinoma, but won't know until next week when path report is in. I know this is common and small potatoes compared to MBC, but do any of us want to hear the word cancer again? Hmm, lidocaine just wearing off and it's a bit tender so I'll just have a quiet evening. I hope all of you are having fun!

Well that's damn unfair, Caryn. Glad other stuff is stable, but one would think that one cancer would be adequate.

This isn't fun now, but prepping for fun - cleaning house, reboxing stuff, organising, etc., as we've invited some friends over for dinner next weekend. Because this is a temporary rental and we moved so quickly, it's been chaos. So we bought new boxes (some we have now have been with us since we moved from the US 7 years ago) and are sorting, organising, repacking, tossing, donating, etc. That helps the house look/feel better, and also gets us ready to move when our lease expires!

Going to Cora's second birthday party tomorrow (friend's grand-daughter), which should be fun. I'm bringing bubbles (at mom and grandma's request). And I scored three grocery bags full of tot-sized toys for $10. They're very gently used; the woman who sold them has a little girl who's outgrown them. So between that and the absolutely adorable outfit I found on sale, I have plenty of presents. :)

If any of you are interested, one of the people who lives near us has written a new children's book. I bought several copies for the little tykes in my life. It's reasonably priced ($20 New Zealand) and for an extra $10, if you want to send him a pic of the child, he'll not only autograph the book, but do a drawing of the child on the inside cover! https://www.facebook.com/animalsinvehicles

    It's a very cute book.

Wishing everyone a good weekend - it's supposed to get up to 14C here today; was -2C this morning, but the sun is shining and the frost is gone.

Music Lover. I am on Oahu at the North Shore. It's crazy beautiful here and very relaxing. No doctors appointments here, no bad SEs from my meds these days, making it easy to forget the bad thing and just enjoy life with my family and some friends. Got some excellent unrelated to health news that has made this week even better.

I was just thinking how normal I feel right now. Cherishing normal and hoping it stays that way.

Btw, while I am here I will cross the four years with Stage 4 threshold. not NED anymore, but working on it and hoping for the best. I was dx'd on my husbands brthday so it's kind of a weird day now. We'll just celebrate him and I'll try not mention my thing..... At least until the next day. Not like he could forget anyway.

Aloha. I'll try to post a few pics from the week. Not too many. Don't want to bore you all. 😀

    Stefanie,
What I remember most about Hawaii is how the warm breezes felt, especially in the evening with the smell of plumeria in the air. Hope you're feeling those breezes and smelling the plumeria.

Tomorrow is my daughter's baby shower. Have a few last minute things to do. Trying to get going early to go over to mall land (rt 4and 17 you name he shop and there is one there) and pick up some little things for the game prizes.at the xmas tree shop. The kids are still in a one bedroom apt so the gifts will wind up in my attic with some of the wedding gifts that are still here. I'll let you guys know how the shower went tomorrow evening.

NYCchutzpah a new baby is fun, fun! congratulations! Your first?

Stefajoy do not worry about boring us. Send pics of your wonderful times! aloha!

KiwiCatMom, I've been doing a lot of re boxing (such a strange process of boxing stuff that you are not quite ready to part with)  tossing, donating etc. The actual doing isn't fun but afterwards the feeling is grand. And the title of your neighbor's book brought a smile. I bet it's great.

Caryn, dang! Sorry to hear you had to hear that word again. It may be small potatoes but not something any of us should have to spend a second worrying about. Weird but there is a spot on my arm that I noticed this week and will have checked out.

Hope you find fun in any small or not small way this weekend

Caryn - Sorry that you had to deal with that. I hope for the best test results possible on that spot.

Stefajoy - Love Hawaii, and your picture makes me want to be there again!

Hope the birthday parties and baby shower were fun for all involved!

I'm going to Ireland next Sunday to fulfill a friend's bucket list. It is fun but with some somber overtones at the same time. It will only be a high of about 63 while we are there; so, that part sounds amazing for us girls from Florida, lol!

NYchutzpah- go baby, go! Have fun and enjoy every minute of awaiting your grandchild's arrival.

When I first noticed the spot on my chest, I thought it was am irritation on the scar from where my third, and final, chest tube was inserted. Bear in mind that this was almost four up years ago, and I'm more than a little forgetful. One day, I realized that the chest tube had been on the opposite side. I felt like an idiot, but glad to be getting it taken care of. I need for school to start to keep my brain from turning to taffy!

NBNotes - wishing you a trip filled with as much joy as possible. Bittersweet, indeed. I helped a friend with the same years ago and I was sad. And he said "don't be sad - remember that you're helping me make wonderful memories to take with me to the other side." That helped..a little. Still hard, but so happy you can go with your friend.

Caryn - better late than never!

The birthday party later today is sure to be chaotic. Tammy (Cora's mom) has 4 little ones: 5, 3.5, 2, and newborn. And I think other people will also bring their children. A little terrifying for me, but I'll drag my camera along and try to get some pics. Every time Cora (2) sees me, she points and says "kitty lady". LOL. So maybe I'll try for some video.

Wishing everyone a good weekend. It's Sunday here, so I plan to enjoy the day before I have to go back to work tomorrow!

imageok so we are at Waimea Falls... Two families. Everyone goes in the waterfall but me.. Because I think the water will be cold, or the rocks are slippery and I dont feel steady on my feet anymore, or I'll have to use a lot of upper body and it's not even three months since my last reconstructive surgery. So I'm sitting there... Sweaty and hot, watching everyone have fun and I'm thinking.. What the hell happened to me? I used to do everything, and really, shouldn't I be living and enjoying every moment while I can?

    So I jumped in.image

That's me on the right in the sunglasses.
