Trish, thanks for organising everything
Jenn, high tea is a great idea! -
I just looked up the weather forecast for next weekend....rain
We may need to think of some indoor activities in case the forecast is right! -
We could always go window shopping.......or museum......or art gallery .....or just sit and chat and amuse ourselves. There will be little time and some of of know what happened last year.......lol.......not nearly enough time for talking!
Jenn high tea sounds lovely! Mind you, checking out the menu, it will account for the extra 23kg of baggage I'm allowed on the flight home!........hahahaha!.....just love high tea! -
High tea sounds fine. Lots of time for chit-chat and laughs xxx -
High tea sounds lovely.
It takes me about 2 hours on train to get there. Will you go out for breakfast? Just wondering how to meet up?
-
High Tea sounds delightful -
What about I book for the 9 of us at 11.30am on Saturday? We could go (window) shopping before or the art gallery which is close?
Do we just want the non-alcoholic high tea?
Jenn -
Sounds good to me Jenn! -
Sounds so good. I will go with the flow. -
Jenn, I'm in..... -
Sounds good to me too - but I wouldn't want the alcoholic one, unfortunately, these days I can't stand the taste of alcohol :-(
Trish
xoxo -
4 more sleeps to go -
Now three! -
Sounds lovely! Wish we could share a tea-time with you all! -
Mods - we'll take pics for you lol, and yes we'll follow the guidelines and send them to you too You'll feel like you were there ... well almost, pics don't seem to share taste sensations very well.
Trish
xox -
Trish, that sounds great with me as well. And I agree, I prefer non alcoholic as I don't drink any more neither lol
3 more sleeps yay!! -
Only two sleeps and the panic sets in cause I have so much to do. Have to shop for helpless DH and Sis. They would eat bacon and sausages for a week. And chips. -
Lol Aly my DH loves it when I'm away - fried tomatos, fried sausage, fried eggs and fried onion! Possibly every meal -
Booked the high tea for 8 of us at 11.45am on Saturday. :-)
Jenn -
Hi Ladies,
I've been lurking on this thread as I am neither Australian nor will I be at your get together. But, I did want to wish you all a fabulous weekend. I have never been to your part of the world but am leaving in 27 days for a cruise which starts in NZ and ends up in Sydney. In addition to the NZ ports we will stop in Melbourne and Hobart. I've spent years wanting to visit your country and can't believe it's almost here. Have fun together.
Caryn
PS: I'll be doing the Harbour Bridge climb on 1/4/14. I know it's a touristy thing to do, but I'll be a tourist. More importantly, it felt like something I really wanted and had to do for all woman with bc, especially as a stage IV gal. -
Thanks for booking Jenn!
Caryn - what a shame you aren't going to be visiting this weekend! You would have been most welcome to join us. I know you'll love the Harbour Bridge climb, a lot of Aussies do it too. The views from up there are just breathtaking.
We think our country is the most beautiful in the world lol and NZ isn't too bad either
Enjoy your trip here and let us know how you go. It's nice to see our country through the eyes of tourists. BTW - Hobart is one of my favourite places in Oz, but I imagine you'll only be spending a day there. The scenery down there is amazing.
Trish
xoxo -
Caryn, where are you starting your cruise? I am in Auckland. -
Alyson,
Yes, we depart from Auckland! I am arriving at night on December 21 and the cruise departs on Dec. 23. Gosh, even as I type this it seems like a dream.
Caryn -
Trisha,
Yes, wish I could have met all of you. I know that the cruise only gives us a "taste" of each port but I love the cruise part as well as the port calls. This will be my fourth cruise. In Hobart we are going to a wildlife park in the morning and then enjoying the Taste of Tasmania Food Festival before we depart.
Caryn -
We are booked for Phillip's Foote on Friday night at 7.00pm. Sorry - meant to post this ages ago!
For the now five of us sharing the three bedroom apt (Chrissy, Mandy, Aly, Linda and me) we need to think about who is sharing with who lol. Because there are only five of us now the cost is slightly higher too - $420 each for the two nights. Obviously one person will end up with a room on their own, so we'll need to "draw straws" or something so that everyone gets the chance to have a room on their own. I'm quite happy to still share with Linda (if she wants me lol). I guess if there are two others that particularly want to share with eachother, then that will be sorted out fairly easily.
Jenn is now going home on Saturday night, as she's moving house next week and thinks (for some reason) that she has to actually be at home to do some packing lol. I've sorted out that accommodation too now - Tammy - you'll be on your own on Saturday night, but it won't cost you more, it will actually be cheaper on the Saturday night for some reason - the hotel couldn't really explain it so that it made sense.
So I think we are all set girls!
I'll be picking Linda up on the way past the airport, so we'll be at the hotel before you all get in, although check-in isn't until 2.00pm. For those of you who are catching a train or taxi to the city, if it's train, then Linda and I will walk up to Central to meet you and help you bring your luggage down it isn't far.
I've been thinking that there might be an alternative. If all your flights are running on time, then maybe Linda and I can grab a coffee nearby to the airport and at least take the luggage of those of you arriving at 11.30ish, then you won't have to worry about lugging it around. Then it'll just be Aly's luggage that you'll need to move around. Does that make sense? Wouldn't surprise me if it all was as clear as mud! lol

Ok - update!
Jenn is now sharing with us in the three bedder on the Friday night, so someone will only have the room to themselves for one night lol. That means the cost for each of us on the Friday night is $175 and on the Saturday is $210.
Tammy is now in just a studio room on her own for two nights, and the total cost is $678 for both nights - Friday nights are $100 dearer than the Saturday night!

Makes perfect sense Trish......lol. I have no problem sharing with either Aly or Miranda. My luggage will not be big as I prefer to travel light so only essentials for three days.......you know, clean knickers and the like......lol. Still debating whether to take the small case on wheels or the bag I bought in the States and used as my cabin luggage......either way it's not a prob to drag around but if Miranda wants to get rid of hers then the pick up would probably be appreciated.
Caryn it is a shame that you won't be here this weekend but enjoy your time here and hopefully it won't be too hot for you.
This is my last day home until Sunday night, I head to the city in the morning and so I'd best go do the washing so I can pack my bag!
Love n hugs all! Chrissy -
I am the same as Chrissy. I will be travelling light too (I hope) and casual clothes as well for comfort. I dont ming who I share with, I think I snore though (not sure as hubby doesnt say anything, but I sleep like a log as soon as my head hits the pillow) lol.
Cheers
Mandy -
