Hi Trish. Whatever Chrissy agrees with - is OK with me as well :). I have just got home from 4 days in Adelaide.

My kids want to give me a present for helping out with babysitting (duh...... I love it and I am not doing them a favour in my opinion). They know that I am going to Sydney and I let it slip that we may be going to the zoo. They want to donate to my outing and are in the process of buying a ticket to the zoo for me. I am not sure what we are doing and I dont want them to waste their money. Any ideas what we will be doing, please???

    Lol Mandy

I don't think we've decided what we are actually decided yet.

A visit to the zoo is a very big day out, there's lots of walking, and you have to walk up a pretty big hill to start at the top and wind your way down. Tickets are $44 each. Having spent some time with Chrissy, I think she'd struggle a bit with doing the zoo justice. I may be wrong, Chrissy will tell me if I am lol. I know I would struggle a bit :-)

Sydney Harbour cruises start at $39 for a coffee cruise.

I know there's a few of us who don't have a lot of money, so I think it would be nice to enjoy each others company without spending a heap of money.

One thing we found in Brisbane last year was while we had some lovely meals, it was the companionship that was best.

I would suggest that for those who haven't been to Sydney much, or at all, a ferry ride to Manly is pretty cheap, shows off the harbour and we can have a nice lunch at Manly without spending a fortune.

In Brisbane, we ordered take away on the Sat night and stayed in the apt and had a ball.

    Anyone else have some suggestions?

I'm happy to go with the flow, but while money isn't really, really tight for me, it's not plentiful either.

    Trish

Tammy, that is so generous of you to offer. I have pmed Trish and if it is able to be organised I would love to share on Sat night.

I am happy to go with what everyone wants to do but I am on a pretty tight budget. There are plenty of free things to see in Sydney and Manly on the ferry is always a winner.

I am happy to catch the train from and to the airport as I think my flights are early Friday and late Sunday. I'll meet y'all at the hotel.

Trish I'm happy to go where ever as I have never been to Sydney to visit just passed through.......literally. The ferry sounds great as does a meal at Manly. It was me who suggested the Zoo and I'm happy to go but not for a whole day.......as Trish said, I think it would be way too much even though I'm better than I was last year I still have limitations.

Saturday night take away and a big girl PJ party in a unit sounds like a lot of fun too......lol. My budget is always tight but I have been saving all year for this so I'm good, not flush but good.......lol......besides, my hubby and girls are helping with the cost as my birthday gift.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

What about Wildlife Sydney which is at Darling Harbour instead of the zoo? It's a level walk and cheaper. Here is the link: http://www.wildlifesydney.com.au/tickets/#single-visit

You actually can buy the pass that gets you into there, the Aquarium, Manly Seaworld (now called a sanctuary) and Madame Tussauds. The combined price is still comparable to the zoo price... And far cheaper if there's 10 of us, but I think there's only 9?

How ambulatory or not is everyone? I'm now quite comfortable getting my 10000 steps per day and walk pretty quickly. Am happy to walk for miles so long as I get fed and watered every now and then...

Lol Jenn. I can't get the 10000steps but as long as the pace is not to stringent for too long I do okay......sauntering is more my pace and then I can carry on for a while. Never actually measure my steps.........

I'm happy to go where ever the majority wants to go as it will all be totally new to me. :)

Jenn I don't sleep well and when I do it's usually for hours and hours.....sigh, I just wish sometimes I could get a normal sleep pattern going.

I'm so use to sneaking into my bedroom that I can do it now without even disturbing the dog!............lol.

Jenn - that's a great idea!  I forgot about Darling Harbour, I guess it depends on who wants to do a ferry ride to Manly and who wants to go to Darling Harbour.  That's something we can decide on the Friday night though if need be.

I must admit, even though I'm going to the gym regularly and I'm a lot better than I used to be, I'd have trouble spending the day at the zoo.  I can walk a fair bit, but need to rest (my joints ache) relatively often, and then I get to a point where I just have to stop.

If it's a nice day a ferry to Manly would be great but,if not, perhaps Darling Harbour.....it might be wise to wait a bit closer to the date.

I'm happy to go along with the majority.

Kylie, it will be nice to finally meet you!

Ok - have changed the booking.  We now have a three bedder for Chrissy, Mandy, Kate, Linda, Ally and me.  It's slightly cheaper (yay!) at $1049 per night, which translates to $174.84 each per night.

Still have the two bedder for Jenn and Tammy (and Kylie for Sat night only).

    I'm getting excited lol

So many places: Darling Harbour, Manly, Circular Quay (for Chrissy), monorail, QV Building etc etc, I agree we can decide on Friday night. Maybe dine at one of these places?

    Chrissy, you will love it!

I am glad that we discussed the zoo. I am afraid that I am pretty ambulatory, however due to the chemo side effects, I cannot walk much or else I get blisters and bloody cracks on my feet. I keep forgetting that and then I suffer for days afterwards. The ferry sounds great, the monorail, and all the other places. I might just see if the kids can organise a different present.

    Blessings

Oh Jenn, that is a shame about the monorail. I used to enjoy it.
