Sydney Get Together Dec 2013
Hopefully we can have a few of us meet up in Sydney this year. I'm pretty flexible, so if you have any preferences for dates put them down as soon as you can and we'll try to organise something.
Those of us travelling in from other cities can share an appartment if you like, as we did in Brisbane last year. Once we know who needs accommodation I'll look for something suitable, and hopefully cheap. Although Sydney is not a cheap city for accommodation, but we should still find something relatively cheap.

Hi Trish, thanks for posting. I would love to attend. Last time I was in Sydney I stayed at Hyde Park Inn which was about $145 per night. It is opposite Hyde Park station. Check it out. I prefer my own room :-).
-
Im in! I postd on the Aussie thread Friday 29th November to Sunday 1st December works well for me. I will be needing accomodation so Trish count me in for what ever you find in that department.
-
Great to see there'll be a few of us. Racy - I've stayed at the Hyde Park Inn many times, both for work and personal and yes - it's definitely my pick as the rooms are nice, location is handy and it has parking. The two bedroom apartments are quite nice too Chrissy - so we'll see what the rates are a bit closer to the time.
I'm in Sydney in April for a wedding and couldn't get into the Hyde Park Inn, it was booked out, so I'm trying a different hotel - will let you know how it compares.
Trish -
Sounds good! I've never been to Sydney other than to drive straight through it so I'm looking foreward to going. Can I set the above dates as the ones to book for? I know I'm being a little pushy on this but it could save me a heap.......lol.....scrooge that I am......lol.
Can you girls agree or not please? Thanks.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Chrissy, that weekend is fine for me as far as I know. I think you would enjoy Sydney. There are thousands of things to do.
When is your deadline for booking? -
Racy, if I can tell a friend this date by Teusday, she is going to give me a ticket that she bought for her DH but he can no longer use. The only thing I need to do is pay for the change of name and the different date needs to be done at the same time. The deadline is Tuesday......ugh!!!!
-
Dates are fine with me, but we'll all have to call DH on the 30th November and sing happy birthday to him lol
-
Done!.....lol
-
Don't worry girls what ever weekend suits.....she has given the ticket to someone else.
-
Darn Chrissy...
I am "in" and will just fit in with whatever is organised. Can maybe give some recommendations for dinner etc once we have sorted who is coming and where you all will stay.
I would love to offer our place but we only have a sofa-bed in the study for guests and we are quite far out of the city....
Jenn -
Chrissy, you can ask for a ticket for your birthday, like last year lol.
I am happy with the proposed date but equally happy to move it to accommodate Trish's husband and Sue's relative.
I will probably book mid year as Qantas have frequent sales $99 to Sydney. However, if we fix the date now I will book soon.
So we have Jenn, Trish, Kylie, Chrissy, Kate?, Mandymoo, maybe Sue and Lynda, maybe Alyson who else? -
No probs Racy, my mum left a small legacy, and it is enough to pay for my trip in total but the ticket was offered so I thought to take advantage of it. I was thinking that weekend for Lynda as she said her weekends in December were out but if everyone would prefer the following one I'm okay with that as well.
I think the sooner we make up our minds, the better the fare we'll get as well. I know that time of year for me is always busy as most of my grandchildren have their birthdays November and December and I never miss attending their party/dinner whatever they plan and the youngest one always asks me to bake his birthday cake........I have missed only one in his 14 going on fifteen years and that was the year I was dxd and had the mastectomy the day before.
Anyway, I'm rambling as usual....lol....but whatever we decide, I'm there!
-
Some good tourist spots: (in no particular order) Monorail; Queen Victoria Building; Opera House; Circular Quay/harbour; Manly; Bondi Junction; Bondi beach; Darling Harbour. So many options for one weekend :-).
-
Mmmm, so many choices......lol.
-
Chrissy, you decide :-).
-
The Zoo! Anyone else interested?
-
Sounds good, can I sit outside on the ferry? I get really sea-sick x
-
That time of year it should be a lovely day Kylie. I'll sit out there with you :-)
Haven't been to the zoo in years and would love to go.
Jenn -
I'm happy with whatever dates are decided. Don't worry about DH's birthday - he's not big on birthdays anyway, so long as we sing happy birthday to him it'll be ok.

-
In that case can we stick to the dates I suggested? The last weekend in November. Woohoo! Organising can begin.....lol
Love n hugs. Chrissy -
Chrissy, zoo is good.
How many nights are you girls staying? -
I'll plan to get in either Thursday or Friday and leave probably Sunday night or Monday morning. I'll work around the cheapest flight.....maybe.......I think I'll need to add in the accommodations as well. What sort of price do you think well be looking at?
-
Just a reminder about this event from 29 November to 1 December. Looking forward to it :-).
-
Racy, Mandymoo and my tickets are booked and paid for.......arriving about 11.30am on the Friday and leaving about 3pm on Sunday 1st.
Trish are you organising accommodation? If you are can you add Mandy and I to the numbers required please.
The weeks are just flying by so November 29 will be here before we know it!! -
Thank you, Chrissy, for orgainising the tickets. I cant wait to meet up with everyone.
Cheers
Mandy xxx

Hi Girls
Yes - have this in my diary :-) Can't wait.
Will book the accommodation soon. I'm thinking we'll go with the Hyde Park Inn.A couple of weeks ago I stayed at the Hyde Park Plaza (nearby) and it was ok, but not as good as teh Hyde Park Inn I think. Stayed at Hyde Park Inn many, many times. Apart from me, Mandy and Chrissy who else is coming that would like to share an apartment? I know Racy will have her own room. The appartments are only 2 bedroom ones there though, I think.
Chrissy and Mandy - I can pick you up from the airport too, I'll be driving up :-)

-
Yay Trish! That would be awesome!! I was thinking on how we're were going to get from the airport to the accommodation and I was preparing to do some research.........I'm so glad I don't have to worry about it now.
When you have booked can you let us know the cost? Not having done much staying in this sort of accommodation I'm not sure if a deposit is in order........if it is please let me know so I can get it over to you.
Getting closer!!!!!!!! -
Id be tempted to come stay in the city with you all :-)
