We have a list of additional emoticons that members have requested, so there may be an expanded menu in the future - but everyone wanted to get some basics up and running without further delay!

Hi, I don't know, is it me or are these emoticons kind of large and creepy? Singing

(but don't make them go away....)

We're glad the new emoticons are well received, and not too "creepy"

if you're taking requests, would like to see some just plain hearts, thumbs up/down (if it doesn't infringe on FB, which in that case, up/down arrows)

Well, the emoticons work for me but still not Bold or Italic. Nerdy

I will admit right here, right now, that I have asked some stupid questions in my lifetime & I am going to ask one now:

Am I not using the Bold / Italic 'key' (for lack of a better word to come to me at this moment) above on the toolbar correctly???

I put my cursor on it &  left click - correct??? It used to be that way & then click on the bottom right corner to 'undo'??

    Am I doing it wrong??????

Valjean, you can also highlight text you've already typed, and then click the Bold or Italic symbol to affect the highlighted text, but what you've described sounds right too.

Is there maybe a some different flower emoticons. I know.....we all like different things. Just thinking a few different things --- but a nice variety would be very nice.

Really like what we have though too.

Mods - I was able to post pictures with the new toolbar on the first day, but nada since. I've tried uploading (small files), links to websites....nothing happens. Am I missing something in the process??? The first day I posted and even grabbed handles to resize, so it did work, once. (I'll be out all morning, so not able to try anything until later today.) Thanks!

Kam -- try clearing your cache and cookies, closing your browser, and then opening the browser to try again. Let us know if this doesn't work!

Mods - cleared cache and cookies (I have a Macbook) and it's still not happening. If I load a picture, the bar comes up like it is loading (file size is 90kb), but nothing appears when it is done. Links to a file server (photobucket) did not work either. :(

Kam.....probably no help at all, but I had issues getting my pictures out of Picasa so started just getting what I use off the web. I should try and see what happens with Picasa again, but I've used google images w/o any issues.

    Jackie.

    worked uploading through Picasa first.

Kam, here's a try, using my Macbook and adding a pic from Photobucket...

    image

...and the same pic from the desktop.

When you pick one of the Photobucket "Links to share this photo," are you using the link with the "Direct" label?

From photobucket, I used the one I always used, before. Since that didn't work, I tried all 4 choices. None worked. Let me try it again, here, using "direct," again:

Using direct (this is the one I used before the toolbar changes and it always worked):

Nothing happens. Further detail - I have to hit "insert" twice to get rid of the menu box. Am I suppose to wait for the menu box to disappear after hitting "insert" once?

Going to try the upload choice.

Nothing. 90kb file. Again, had to hit "insert" twice to get rid of menu box.

Just trying something from a new site:

“It’s not until you have the courage to step off the ledge that you’ll realize you’ve had wings all along.”

was hoping maybe I would not get the extra words.....I haven't conquered yet.

Kam, sorry for the obvious question, but is the Album Privacy setting on your Photobucket set as Public (vs. Password Protected, or Private)?

Let me try it this way...under Privacy, everything is checked on except "When I upload, permanently remove information about where my photos were taken."

Ok, this is extremely strange, on the Word Association Phrase Game (in forum Humor and Games), I posted the words 'plan a wedding', went back and edited for spelling, and then a 'This post has been removed by the community' notice came up. ?????????

I also just got an e-mail saying 'due to mis-use, we have revoked your ability to report posts that violate Community Rules'. Since the ONLY reports I have ever sent in have been the 'watch video streaming online' ones, I am pretty bemused by that!

Plus it says I can only send a handful of PM messages a day.....since I maybe send one a WEEK, if that, I really do not know what in the world is going on. ??????

ruthbru, we've sorry for the mess-up, and have reversed the deletion! You can send all the PMs you want without restriction (even if you don't want to send 'em!)

ruthbru, ah, so they are after you too?

I had the same thing happen to me last week, but it went one step further - my account was deactivated and I was banned from the board. So I couldn't even sign in to ask what happened. Fortunately the email notice that I received about my banning including a response function so I was able to email back and get it all cleared up.

Mods, did BC.org hire the same people to work on updating this site as are working on the Obamacare site? Just wondering....

Well, hopefully this is only happening to us seasoned veterans. A newbie might take it the wrong way!

Grovelling apologies! It's a new system that's keeping more of the spam off the boards, but unfortunately has identified a few innocents too. It's being "trained" to be more discriminating.

Beesie..... that was funny! I thought the easiest way to fix MY problems with this site, was just to shoot my computer!

I can do the right stuff if I log in to Chrome, and Google.... but AOL will NOT let me access everything I used to do on here.

Mods, no need to apologize. I got a laugh out of the whole thing. I've been in a few sticky situations on the board over the years but I'd never been banned. And here I posted what I thought was a nice helpful post (it actually included a link to some information on BC.org) and BOOM! I'm immediately banned! After my initial stunned reaction, I did think it was pretty funny. And come to think of it now, I'm guessing it might have been the two links in my post that caused the confusion. Spammers usually include links so that's probably what got the new system confused.
