Thanks chabba - hoping that will help with troubleshooting! -
Still miss the emotions (insert sad smiley face here).....Also noticing lots of spam lately.
-
Aruba, I can't do ANYthing with using AOL.... I'm using Chrome, and I can post pictures, and there is spell-check also.
Since the changes, AOL just won't work with us...:)
Chabba, I HAD the tool-bar with AOL, but nothing else.... That's when I downloaded Chrome, and now it all works great. -
We are aware that members are having difficulty with AOL. For those having problems, and are not switching to Chrome, can you tell us the version of AOL you are using so we can pass it on to the tech team.
Thanks for your continuing patience.
The Mods -
Mods, I am using AOL 9.7..... But I can't post pictures, or have any sort of spell check.
So I go into Chrome, and I can do that. -
Uh oh! Been using a Kindle Fire for over a year on this site and suddenly today I lost the "toolbar" for posting (pics, fonts, etc) and I can't see anyone's posted pictures at all.
Thanks!
Bailey
Edited to add kindle is an android device and uses the Silk browser
-
bailey, we'll report this latest change, thanks! -
I have been using AOL 9.6..never had issues until just lately. -
Oooh! This just in! I fixed my problem! It was with my Kindle. Once I realized I was having the same problem on another website I realized it was me, not you! So sorry for the trouble!
-
I really missed my SMILEYS Icon

-
I REALLY, REALLY miss the emoticons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (insert multiple unhappy faces)
-
bailey, we're pleased for you too - thanks for letting us know!
ruthbru and sheila888 they'll be back, really they will! 😢 -
The toolbar is here for me & has been for the past week but it doesn't work.....
-
Valjean, we'll report also this problem to the tech team, but please let us know: doesn't work at all or only some of the options? -
Hi Mods.... With me, and this AOL Desktop 9.7, I cannot "paste" anything here! I used to type a post, like I am "writing" an email, and then copy and past the message here. But I can't "paste" anything now, nor pictures. The reason I typed a message, and then pasted it here, is so I could go back a page, or find a link... without losing my post.
I can with the Chrome.... but not with AOL. Does this help? -
I find it would be very helpful to know everyone's AGE as well as if they are post or pre menopausal .
Also the size of everyone's tumors is so deceiving when you start out as a newbie on these threads .....all you see is 1cm or 2cm. Someone with 1.8cm is listed as being 1cm .....so as a newbie I was in shock that all the women with 1cm tumors were having chemo or doubleMX.....I had 1.5 cm IDC ( found within my 2.6cm DCIS) and was so consumed with all these women with 1cm tumors getting chemo and mastectomies that it was even influencing me to think about doing the same .....until I realized that 1cm meant 1cm -1.9 cm and that 2cm was 2cm- 2.9 cm and that the DCIS component was not included in size. -
pooh612, there's a large personalization project underway that will help refine the information members may choose to provide, but of course what info anyone makes public will always be optional. In the meantime, members can add info in their signature line or biography, and asking about age and menopausal status can be part of a welcoming conversation.
We'll pass along your comment about tumor size to see if it can be addressed in future, thanks! -
The only thing that works tonight is the Insert Horizontal Rule, which is too crazy.
I have not attempted to insert an image, not with all the problems everyone else is having.I would have to type a lot of words in order to see if the Outdent/Indent/Align Text ones would work & that would be silly to even try.
Neither the Bold >> bbbbbb << nor the Italic >>vvvvv<< work.
-
Okay, I have the bold.... And this one works! And I can post pictures.... Valjean, I have a Dell Desk-top, running AOL. 9.7, and I can't get any of this to work either.
But when I want to use this tool-bar, or post pictures, or links, I use Chrome to sign on with.... and it all works... Can you try logging on a different way, or with a different browser or format? -
Yeah! Yes, seems important to use Chrome!
Thanks, Chevyboy! -
Yes! But when I use Chrome, I have to use Google as my search bar, and THEN go to BC.ORG.... I can't use the AOL search bar to go to this site.... It won't work. -
sbell check
Don't like google chrome because I dont get my favorites list but at least BCO works -
That is frustrating. Whoever is using AOL, please let us know the version, if possible, as we are looking for solutions.
Sorry!!! -
I KNOW Chabba.... I really like AOL, because of my Favorites bar at the top, AND my list of Favorites... Do you have spell check with whatever you are using? -
Chabba, can't you export your favorites list to a file and import that into Chrome? You might find information at this link:
or maybe you'll find something by doing a Google search of exporting AOL favorites to Chrome -
I'm using chrome and at the top of my page is a white star, on the right. I can view
favorites from that star and it will give me a menu so I can put them on the right or left side of my page.
Jackie -
Jackie, thanks, I'll try that. I use msn, not aol. -
I love seeing Chabba & Chevy on the same page - even if it is a glitch bitch. My heros. Hi ladies. -
Hi Back ATCHA Minus! Hah!
Jackie I also love the whole bar running across my screen with AOL.... It has my most visited places, so I just click on the little icons I gave each site, and I am there. And the email format is great.... I can adjust the size of the font, etc! I've just used AOL since I bought my first computer for $100 from the flea market about 20 years ago. -

Copy and paste..i missed them
