Mods, still being logged out after hitting the Submit button on a post or PM. In fact, I had just typed a lengthier message about another observation; forgot to "copy" before Submitting, and lost it. -
I just noticed there is no 'back' icon to hit in case you accidently delete something you want to keep. There used to be one.
-
Kam, we'll check if there's anything further on this from the tech team. The last I heard they hadn't been able to replicate the problem.
ruthbru, do you mean a Back icon when you're entering new text in a message, or a way to un-delete something after you've clicked Submit and it's been posted? -
entering new text
-
I wish hyperlinks opened in a new window rather than having to back/navigate myself back to the thread. -
Mods - as far as the observation I made, previously lost after hitting "submit".... If I come back to BCO after closing my browser, I was still logged in in the olden days. Now if I come back with breastcancer.org, it appears I'm still logged in until I hit Discussion Forums. I just discovered that whenI type "community.breastcancer.org," rather than breastcancer.org (in the url) I can get to the discussion forums without getting logged out. -
ruthbru, there was a change to the Undo function. Now the Preview option gives you a chance to review what you've typed before hitting the Submit button. -
But if I am typing and accidently press the wrong key and delete what I just wrote (which I already did once today), I can not get it back anymore....'preview' is not the same as 'undo'.

MelissaDallas, how a link behaves when you click it generally depends on how it was entered by the poster. There's a checkbox when someone types or pastes an URL where they can select Open Link in New Tab. If the box isn't checked, the link will open in the active window.
However, you can override that setting! Say you want to take the BCO Community Survey (and of course you do!), and the link is shown like this:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BCOcommunity
On my Mac I can hold down the Control key while I click the link, and it will give me a choice to open in a new tab or new window, despite the default setting. I'm sure there's a way to do the same thing with a PC; I'll check with the team to get the answer for PCs. -
i'm using an Ipad so don't have the option. If I were using my regular mac I could right click to open new window. Sorry, I should have specified the platform. -
MelissaDallas, on my iPad I can open links in a new tab. All I do is hold on the link instead of just tapping it. Then there's the option of just opening it or opening in a new tab. -
Mods - I can no longer resize pictures that I post. I used to be able to drag the corner to resize a pic, but for some reason I can no longer do so. Any suggestions? -
Barsco - can you check the system requirements in the OP against what you have on your computer to see if you're compatible? That might do the trick!
Let us know if it doesn't work... -
thanks River Rat! I'll try that. -
Mods: I didn't even know there was a survey available. Have you had lots of responses? Where is it posted? Wonder if anyone else knows? -
Mods
Any progress on the kindle issue???? -
MinusTwo, the survey was posted on many forums on the boards, although member threads rise to the top of the forum lists so it may not be as obvious as it was originally. It's at the top of the first forum in All Topics view, and also in Moderator Messages, among others. I don't have the current number of members who've taken the survey, but earlier this week we'd had over 400 responses. There are also banners on the main site, and here in the forums to point folks to the survey. If you haven't taken the survey yet, we hope you do!
Maureen813, the tech team did some research on Kindle, but haven't been able to add this platform to the list of supported devices, so for now unfortunately we haven't been able to find a solution for you. -
yes, I found and took the survey the other day. Can't remember (thanks to Tamoxifin) but was there just an open area for unstructured responses? -
2nd_time_around, there are several open fields for "other" answers about some of the subject areas, so the extra comments are attached to relevant questions. -
Hi Mods, I see the reply above about Kindle platform not being supported at this time. What about Android? I still have no keyboard to type replies to PMs or post a message from my Android phone. It will let me type in the subject line, but not in the message box. I was able to prior to this latest version. I really would like and appreciate the ability to reply and post from my phone restored. Any hope? -
FLwarrior, do you have Android version 4.0.1 or higher? -
no. and I do not have the resources to buy a new phone.
It worked fine until the site made the changes. -
FLwarrior, we're sorry. Although the upgrades to the site made BCO accessible to more members, unfortunately the changes aren't compatible with some older configurations. -
FLwarrior, is it possible to upgrade the Android OS without changing phones? Might be worth asking from wherever you bought your phone. -
River_Rat, I am going to go by the store and ask if it is possible. Hope so. Thanks. -
Hi, just wondering who else has this .. every time I go back to the top level/main page of the forum, instead of it remembering the last position where I was, it always go back to the top and I have to scroll down to where I was. OK so I know using tabs is a decent workaround but sometimes I just plain forget. Not a biggie, but just interested to know... -
Mods - for the record, I continue to be logged out while writing a post or when replying to a PM, then lose what I just wrote when I hit Submit button, having been logged out (though I'm occasionally aware I need to copy what I write before submitting for this reason).
Also, the pics I recently posted took about 10 attempts, plus or minus. I just kept linking and hitting insert. Nine times out of 10 nothing happens. Why it happens the 10th time? I wouldn't normally have had the patience to keep trying, but those pics were important to me.
If I don't copy this before I hit the Submit button, there is about a 65% chance I will be logged out and lose it. As you know, this is not a new problem. The picture problem started with the change in the toolbar (later the the logged out problem). -
Mods please help with my kindle just dx with sIV and I need to post other than cell phone. Any help appreciated -
Kam170 and Maureen813 the tech team is working on compatibility with all systems. We have not forgotten about you and we appreciate your patience.

Mods - good to hear, but I wonder why the message above didn't pop up on my favorite's list as a new post? A new problem?
Yes, I have to copy/paste about 80% of the time because I'm logged out while typing.
