I've just been told I'm not authorized to report a post........it was spam! -
Hmmm Chrissy, that's a new one. We don't see any issues with your account that would indicate you're not allowed to report posts! We'll note this one for the tech team!
Thanks for your watchful eye, as always!
--The Mods -
Mods it's happened quite a few times now but usually I just ignore it as it disappears and I can still report but the message just got to me tonight.......lol.......I must be in a bad mood. -
No sweat Chrissy! We'll see what we can find out -
Thanks Mods. -
Mods, I still can't type using my Kindle which means I need to sit at my computer
Not happy!!! This has been happening for a few weeks. Can your tech team please clear this up? I receive the pop up keyboard to sign in however when posting the screen just highlights orange and no pop-up keyboard on my kindle
-
It's on the list Maureen! Tech team is systematically addressing each of the glitches and we are hoping for a resolution soon!
Hang in there! -

These are on the emoticons. What are they? -
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH, now I can see them. -
LOL, sort of. -
They are thumbs up and thumbs down! We do have another version in the works that will be a little more contrast. -
A great addition nevertheless. Thx. -
Step-by-step for adding pictures when using a Mac (in this case, a MacBook Pro running OS 10.8.5)
Method 1 - drag and drop from your desktop. If you have a pic on your desktop, you can just drag it into place in the post or PM or the Biography field of the My Profile area. Click on the image (no need to open it with a double click), and drag it across.
Methods 2a and 2b - use the Insert Image tool.
First, click the tool, which will open to this panel:
2a- upload from your computer. If you have a photo from your camera that you've saved to a file somewhere on your computer, have the Upload button active (as in the image above). Click the Browse button and navigate to the location of your picture file. Click Open, and it should automatically place your pic at the insertion point.
2b - link to an image hosted somewhere else. If you want to grab a not-copyrighted image from Facebook or a blog, your Photobucket or Flickr account, have the Link button active after clicking the Insert Image tool. Paste the full URL into the Image Web Link field you'll see. Note that you'll want to use the full URL - it usually starts with "http." Click Insert, and the image should appear at the insertion point.
Each method will then let you resize the picture right on the boards. Click on the pic and you'll see a little black box at the lower right of the image - click and drag the black box to change the size.

Mods can we PLEASE have an angry face minus the horns? We can be angry without being a devil. -
Noted, thanks Musical! -
Mods, what happened? I tried to post this poem for Michelle, and it was immediately "deleted by the community"
Let's see if I can post it here.... -
Hi Mods,
I don't know if this is a problem on my end or yours. Since iOS 7 came out on the iPhone, I can log into BC.org, but can no longer get into the menu section on the discussion boards, regardless if any of my favorite topics have new messages or not. Have you heard this from anyone else??
Many Thanks!! -
Hi webweb - this is the first time I recall seeing this particular glitch. Are you using the Safari browser to access BCO with your iPhone? Although the minimum system requirement is iOS 5, it's supported on the Safari browser. -
i'm still getting a lower case letter instead of a capital letter at the beginning of my posts on Ipad. -
Hi, Yes, I am using the Safari browser. Prior to iOS 7, I used the mobile app, when that stopped working, I started going in through Safari. Now, neither works. Sounds like it's an iPhone glitch. -
Thanks, wenweb and MelissaDallas, we'll be sure the tech team has these details on their list!
are you used to the software automatically capitalizing the first letter at the start of your posts, MelissaDallas? (Typing this with a lower-case "a" on that first "are" to test with my Mac) -
Hi Mods, has the "undo" function been changed? A few times recently, I turned some text bold or italic, then changed my mind and tried to "undo", probably using the keyboard shortcut, and instead of the text going back to plain, a whole sentence or more disappeared.
I agree with Musical about the horns. Another forum I sometimes post on has a scowling red face with flames
for "angry", and I think there are similar ones that aren't animated (although the animation seems to be working just fine). Actually they have a pretty good assortment of emoticons over there, and I can PM you mods the name of the site. Maybe you can just get the same set--why re-invent the wheel? -
Curveball that's a much better one. Additionally I also like your suggestion of a flameless one.
Mods is there any word from the IT dept on now having to enable ajaxgoogleapis to get my toolbar and rtf? The old format allowed me to have these features by just clicking on "allow breastcancer.org" in my noscripts utitlity. Now I have to allow google
-
LOL, Curveball I could come here and do a copy and paste each time I need to use it.
-
@Musical, the other "angry" faces I have seen have flames too, but the flames aren't animated. I plan to cut & paste from my other forum too if I want one of those smileys enough to go to the bother of doing it. -
Now that is more like it! (I would go out and copy a nice, normal happy face if I weren't too lazy.) I thought the old emotions were just fine, and find I am not using the new ones because most of them are so weird that they don't reflect any emotion that I've ever had. -
Mods,
I found "my favorite topics" at the very bottom of the page, which allow me to get in on my iPhone. This is new however, and although it's kind of strange to have to scroll all the way down to the very bottom, I am happy none the less. Thank-you!!! -
Curveball (BTW I love your name LOL) yea, flames still or moving certainly reflect some of my moments, like getting hot under the collar...(be angry and sin not) lol but any sign of those horns no matter how small...nah. I aint selling out to the devil for anyone.
Ruthbru I agree. TOTALLY. Some of the new ones I dont "get". The old ones were fine, but just not enough of them. Sometimes I wanna just simply smile but not with big eyes. Over the years I've seen some real beauties. Im pretty sure theres lots to be had on the net as freebies but some of them may be copyright as well. We all know theres no such thing as a free lunch so one has to be ultra careful they don't get a "complimentary" toolbar into the "bargain" as was the case with some of those old goodies if you wanted easy access to them. Anyway heres a list of the very basics of what I think is missing: (there'll be some Ive missed so please feel free to add)
-roll eyes
-various inflections of smiles
-various inflections of thoughfulness
-the good ol angry
-decent thumbs up and down that we can see
-Hugs
-undecided/dont know -
the flames could also represent hot flashes (wink....another sign for the list)
-
Well dang, Im trying to upload a little .gif from my HD. It only does the 1st frame. I'll fiddle with some settings and see if I can get one of my favourite "angries" to load. Well no go.
Mods can we only load stills from our HD?
Curveball how did you get your angry to show? Did you simply cut and paste from another website or did you have to use the link feature from the toolbar?
