For anyone who hasn't yet booked travel to Sydney, there is a QANTAS sale on NOW!
-
Just booked my flights. Arriving 10am Friday 29th November and departing Sydney 1.05pm Sunday 1st December. You have no dea how many times I checked the dates here to make sure I wasnt stuffing up. Im very scatterbrained at present and was scared stiff Id stuff it up. Cant wait to see all my old friends again and to meet all of you I havent met before. Should be a fantastic time.
-
Great that you'll be joining us, Linda! Hoping all is going well for you
.

Bumping for Stressmagnet and Australia. We would love to meet you ladies and any other ANZBCCs.
-
Yay Linda - sorry meant to respond to this before. I'll pick you up from the airport - I may struggle to get there right on 10 though, but the way air travel is these days, if you land on time it'd be a miracle lol

With starting a new job I won't be able to get there until after work on the Friday. Looking forward to it!

Hi ladies, I just checked my flight details. My QANTAS flight leaves Brisbane at 8.55 am and arrives in Sydney at 11.30. As I said, I am happy to catch the train into town. Which would be the closest station to Oaks on Castlereagh? -
Hi all. Have at last booked - there was a deal on Air NZ. Get to Sydney at 12.15 on the Friday. I can get a cab into town so will need details of where we are staying. Now quite excited.
Big hugs -
Hi Alyson, once we know what time everyone's getting in we can work out the transport from the airport to the hotel. If there are too many to fit in my car, then the train would be a lot cheaper, faster and better than catching a cab. But we'll talk about that a bit closer to the time :-)
We're staying at Oaks on Castlereagh.
And I haven't forgotten you are coming back to Canberra with me :-)
Trish -
if there are a few of you a cab is probably cheaper. Train is about 16.50 depending which stop you get off x -
Ladies, it is only about 6 weeks till we meet in Sydney: very exciting!
Best wishes to you all.
-
bumping for new member, Ruthie.
-
bump for any new ladies.
-
Ladies, as we are a large group and we are meeting on Friday night in the party season, do you think we should book a dining venue?
Any suggestions for somewhere in the city, maybe near Circular Quay/harbour?
-
The opera house is having lots of shows and activities for the next two months.
-
Good thinking Racy! I will give it some thought.
Kylie, do you have any recommendations? -
Hi Guys
I know a great little place in the Rocks called Phillip's Foote. It's a pub in the front, and then you go out to the back and it's outdoors. You pick a steak, or chicken (or fish too I think) and then you barbeque it yourself. Self serve salad (all you can eat) and the atmosphere is lovely. Price is $32 per head - not too bad for the centre of Sydney.
The link is here: http://www.phillipsfoote.com.au/default.htm
Might not be to everyone's taste, but I can vouch that the ambiance is lovely - it's in the Rocks and has a lot of old world charm. Bookings for a Friday night would be essential though.
Just one suggestion

I'll leave the choice up those who know Sydney but that one sounds lovely Trish. I guess where ever we go we had better make our minds up quickly as I would assume the earlier we book the better.
Love n hugs. Chrissy -
I agree with Chrissy. I am sure we will have a great time catching up, and I have faith in whichever choice of venue we go to. lol. xxx
Cheers

The Rocks would be a significant walk from the hotel. Is everyone capable of this? Maybe we should book something closer to the hotel that evening?
Jenn -
We can walk up to Central or to Museum and catch a train to the Quay - either one isn't too far a walk. From the Quay to Phillip's Foote is a brisk 5 minute walk or a slow 10.
But happy to do something closer to the hotel if that's better - any suggestions Jenn?

I don't care where we go - I will go along and know it will be fun -
or we could take taxi/s. I like Trish's suggestion but Jenn, if you can name another place closer, that would be fine too, Darling Harbour?
Just concerned that we should book in advance!
-
bump! Only 4 weeks till our get-together!
-
Very much looking forward to it Racy -
Oooo yeah!!!! -
Only 19 days to go.........
-
