Not much shopping lately, but a tad bit of small scale ebaying. I love anything to do with Victorian era bicycling! (Keep your eyes open for me, VintageGal! Lol.) So one of my latest purchases was a stereoview card with a woman dressed to go riding. She's telling her husband, "Sew on your own buttons. I'm going for a ride!"

Cracks me up!!! I want to collect the whole set.

Michelle... If you do hit Enselow... head downstairs to the clearance section first. The stairs are on the left when you enter the store. Also head to the back of the store on the first floor.... Behind the stairs to the second floor.

VintageGal - I am an A1 Goodwill shopper. Bought purple shorts/top, wild print kinda PJ bottoms. Then bought for $7 some navy/pink flowered PJ pants at Macys. Have a "camping" weekend this weekend with a 70% chance of rain. I say "camp" because 3 BR cabin, heat/air, kitchen though minimal sit-around space. On lake with NO water in the inlet - bummer. Taking my stack of magazines. We play cards, eat, they hike me not so much, no fishies. Also bought some yoga T's/shorts (? is there such a thing as yoga shorts - anyway they match the Ts) at WallyWorld.

DD and I have been threatening to go the new outlet mall in Grand Prairie which may finally happen mid Oct. I have had the lining of a nice pair of dress shoes and the inner sole of sandals just in the last month fall apart, just crumble. What's with that? Nice bottom of my closet environ. No mildew or anything like that. And they were name brand and really not that old or severly worn.

Voracious, thanks for the tip. I checked and found that there is also an Enselow in Upper East Side, 2nd and 79th. I've got errands in Hell's Kitchen and Upper East side today. Hope I can make it to one of the stores.

Voracious you are so kind. The one on 79th is still there. It was small tho, no basement or second floor. Nice shoes though. I didn't buy any but did find some leather dress boots at Century 21. Will definitely check out the other Enselows when I go back to NYC. Also found a shoe store called French Soles that had some well-made Italian shoes.

I am happy to hear the uptown store is still operating! The Enselow store on Park Ave South is their flagship store. I do hope you get there when you visit NY again. I will check out French Sole.

Oh..duh! AND, LUCKY BRAND JEANS...got skinny jeans and fabulous skinny midnight blue CORDS to wear w both pairs of new boots! Also, a zebra belt. I had a VIP 25% off coupon...;)

What pissed me off was I already HAD the jeans in a 25 (0) that I bought last year, but they are too big now, so had to buy same in a 24 (00)...but THAT is why I LOVE LBJ...they carry small sizes. I alternate between 24/25's...

Nevermind, they don't make their belts in xs! I must take the sm to shoe repair to make it smaller. ..grrr...

    Lucky Brand Jeans!! Love them.

I know there are some lipstick lovers out there so I wanted to share about a new lipstick I found today. I always wear the long lasting lipstick, the kind with the lipstick on one end and the gloss on the other but I wanted to try something new. Today when I was at my local drugstore I found a beautiful lipstick by Lise Watier called Duo Glam. It is a gloss on one end and a lipstick on the other and I love it. It was a little pricey at $27.00 but I thought, what the heck, I deserve it. Of course I always think that!!

The other thing that happened is that I have been feeling guilty that I have been shopping so much when I have some many clothes, shoes and boots. I also have so many nice things that I don't wear anymore and need to donate them. Today on my facebook page a message came across looking for nice clothes and shoes to be donated for a community garage sale fundraiser for a 34 year old stage 4 lady. She is seeking alternate treatments and has run out of money. I was so happy to offer my stuff to her to sell. Hopefully they will raise a lot of money so she can have more time with here kids. I hate this disease!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

    Hugs

shoppy, nice of you to donate. I don't like my closets overflowing with stuff, now that I'm living in an apt instead of a house. I live very close to 2 charities that accept clothing donations and make frequent drop offs.

I haven't heard of that lipstick line but will look for it. I shop a lot at Sephora online for eye makeup but for face and lips, I have to go in person. This is the time of year when my tan fades and I feel like I look so sickly. A new lipstick might be what I need.

Violet, you are teeny tiny! Is there possibly LBJ in teen sizes?

Every year I like to buy a new casual outfit to wear for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I bought a pair of skinny cords last week, blue-green with a light silver paisley pattern. I'm completely stumped on what sweater/boots to wear with them. I need a personal shopper for this!

Sorry for the ginormous photo, I can't get my phone to shrink its size. Wanted to share my new red flats. Cheap and cheerful.

    Happy Friday, y'all!

    Ladies,

Am I the only one here who mostly prefers MEN'S fragrances? I am pretty picky but have found a few women's over the years I love. ..;)

I favor spicy, leather, smokey, woodsy, patchouli, cedar...bases.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PERFUMES, Ladies?

My most recent/ few years ago: SpiceBomb (men's), Versace-Crystal Noir, CK's- Euphoria. ..Fendi- Palazzo, Kiehl's- musk, Seventh Muse - Violet pure oil...:)

    I need some NEW ONES!!!

violet...I'm very fragrance sensitive. My favorites are at the Whole Food Store. I have a vanilla and a citrus scent. Those are great. Last time we were there I tried a new brand. I sampled the Arabian Sandalwood. There were several others...will try another next time, but I love sandalwood!

If anybody wants brands, etc I can go dig in my purse. Lol. (LONG day and I am parked in the recliner with a good book.)

OH!!!! My latest purchase?? A really good juicer!! Goodbye low energy, hello to those jeans that are "just waiting" in the closet til I drop a few pounds. ;-)

dulcigirl, what brand of juicer did you buy? Do you like it so far? I have advice: don't start with too many veggies. Taste will be too strong & you'll hate it. Gradually add veggies in. My husband just bought a fancy Cuisinart juicer. So now our tiny apt kitchen has a bullet type blender, a Vitamix and the juicer on the counter. My hubby is training for NY marathon. Two years ago, when I was diagnosed with Stage IV, he was in terrible health. Now he's an athlete. I don't question his purchases of juicers, blenders, health shakes or vitamins, and he doesn't question my purchases of shoes, boots, makeup and clothes! 😉

Violet our perfume likes are exact opposites. I am a floral girl, particularly jasmine, gardenia, rose and lily of the valley. My signature scents are Diorissimo and Ralph Lauren Romance. A treasured gift is a bottle of Diorissimo perfume from Paris. Evidentally the perfume is no longer being made, only the eau de toilette. Also have Bulgari Jasmin Noir, and Pacifica fragrance tins such as guava and gardenia. Great for traveling as they are solid not liquid. However, two things that come to mind for you ... Have you smelled the fragrances by Lush? I think they are very distinctive and there might be one you like. I love Karma, it's patchouli based. My husband has worn a few. Second, Hermes has a new scent. Someone told me about it and how distinctive it was. It is very outdoorsy. I don't remember the name of it but because it is new, if you go to a Sephora or dept store it will be the biggest display area in Hermes area because it's new ... I took a sniff and it was not "me" but it was truly exquisite.

Shoppygirl, thanks for photo compliment. Meds are making my hair fall out and I took a pic while I still had a few strands on my head.

i researched a lot and went for the best that was also easiest to clean. We had one 20 years ago that my dad gave us. It was great, but required lots of food prep and was a pain to clean...and I rarely used it. This just came yesterday so I have not tried it yet. Will be food shopping later. Your fruit/veggie advice is exactly what my recipe book says. Oh! It's the Breville Juice Fountain Elite.

Interesting husband story!! Right around my diagnosis my husband got a nice road bike and started training for triathlons. He did 4 this summer. Now he bought a beautiful tri-bike. He has been able to drop his bp and cholesterol meds and really enjoys the working out. I guess facing MY mortality finally taught him he needs to do something fun and healthy!! Plus the workouts are great stress relievers for him. The only thing that bugs me about it is when I want to go for a bike ride and he's already going with his buddy. Oh! I also hate it when his wet suit makes the laundry room smell like a lake.

I'll let you know how the juice goes. I'm determined!!! Was considering a recipe that has apples, ginger, carrots and celery to start with. How does that sound?

Dulcigirl, that recipe sounds great! My husband made a concoction this morning that was those 4 ingredients, plus a big bunch of parsley. (using Granny Smith apples). Plus some turmeric, so it was orange. It was really light and delicious. I think he put a few ice cubes in at the end. I have heard that your brand juicer is the best. Ours is quiet but it is a mess to clean. The leftover vegetables fiber is so pretty and colorful. Hope you have many good juices with it. (Does your hubby not know how to turn on the washer, either? ; )

Ha!! No, he knows how, and quite often does...but the wet suit isn't washable. Think big rubber scuba diving type thing. That smells like a sweaty lake. Draped over the edge of the washer to drip dry. How's that for painting a picture? Yuck.

Glad you think the juice recipe sounds good! We were gone today on a bc bike ride. (100% of registrations go to a research foundation.) So tomorrow is Juice Day #1!! Hope I like it. If not, I hope at least I lose 20lbs!! ;-)

Rollercoaster of a month, but I'm back top share my latest score.  I love those red heels, TarheelMichelle! Funny, violet1, my perfume tastes run gourmand - the sweet stuff.  Guerlain's Elixir Charnel Gourmand Coquin is my favorite.

So for the latest score for this unapologetic purse whore is the Gucci half moon patent leather hobo! image

Yesterday, stopped by TJ MAXX for a few minutes. Needed to stock up on winter socks and gloves for the DH. The clerk at the register left the security tag on the gloves. Guess I'll have to head back there soon! Yay for her mistake! Oops! My bad!
