Awe Cami, shoot you don't sound insensitive about this....you have always been so kind and patient.    The psyche Doc, I have to work hard to get through this mindset.   Teka, I love your short but kind words of advice....And yes I will indeed do what ever is reccomended, cuz I would really like to work and make some $$.

Today I planted more flowers...I am going crazy with the flowers...my husband doesn't seem to mind, all these purchases I am making.   I found a rose bush underneath a huge hosta, there was one beautiful flower peeking through the hostas, so I tryed to dig the whole thing out and ended up breaking the stem completly off... oh well....Most of these flowers were planted by his ex, so I don't know what is what with some of these plants....Its a beautiful cool evening here....love this weather........

Lori I started laughing when u said u broke the plant--well his ex planted it hahaha--Well really if u enjoy planting that's a good thing to keep u'r hands and mind busy But I have to say living in WI this isn't the greatest time to start an outdoor hobby like planting flowers and such hahaha, I know think of what u always wanted to do but never did, not traveling or anything like that but indoor stuff--just think.

Another pocket day tomorrow for Blondie--OK I'm anxious for this one, they better have some real answers for u--I feel so bad for no answers to things--I always think that's not acceptable but then I remember we're dealing with any possibility and  Drs. to boot.

Spookie if u were up north u raised them inside? Never even new about that stuff.

I know about one plant the mother-in-law tongue? cuz it's hard to kill. but other than that I never relly paid attention , but now Lori knows if she gets the urge to plant maybe she can have house plants,  WI is way to snowy and cold. Thanks Spookie

Lori- my sister had the same type of surgery you had for reconstruction (one side). She mentioned how the tissue expanders are really uncomfortable, and was glad to have those out. The surgery is probably outpatient and hopefully you will be in and out and home recovering quickly.

I think it is very normal to feel stressed out before any surgery, I know I am. We will be here for you to share with as you approach the surgery as well as after when you go through your recovery. 

Yesterday was a long day after going in for my 6 month mammo. I was so surprised she came in right away to tell me the news that things were good (how often have we waited to hear results?) After a full day at work followed by an evening yoga class, I literally collapsed into bed!

I have one more thing to do with a trip to AZ next week to see the rad onc who did my brachytherapy radiation. I am meeting my sister there (they are driving in from southern CA) for more family and fun time. We have not seen each other much for awhile, so lots of catching up to do post treatment for both of us! Hawaii was part 1, Scottdale is part deux.

Gotta get in the shower and on a conference call. I hope everyone has a good day! Thanks for being here with me as I go through this first follow up!

Okay, one more post and them I am outta here! Just read this from a friend on FB (who I might add, has been such a great supporter in my time of need, even from a distance). I think this would be great to send to some of our friends who need to understand in a crisis, their job is to help and not make it about themselves.

I think that's why we're here.  The me me me chorus is rare, and only when we need a hug or support.  I'll never forget being pounced on another thread.  Congrats, Jazzy,  on happy news.  And plants...  how wonderful.  I love that our gardenia bloomed this year.  It's usually too hot and dry.  (and indoor plants... I've lost a few to adventurous feline diggers...  but have a crazy healthy philodendron... )  Tangerine?  mmmm.  Would love to have a small citrus grove.

I raised African violets as a small person in Germany.  It broke my heart that they wouldn't clear customs.  (I smuggled my cacti collection without telling my parents.  They lived to be 20 year old plants, and even bloomed.)   Hadn't thought of that in years.

Hermits- well, you know that expression, we take ourselves wherever we go! So it goes for the "all about me" and drama types. I know it is just about the need for attention. Sometimes just best to step away and let those folks walk on by. 

The threads I have liked the best here are this one (my fav) and I am also on an arimidex thread I find helpful (although I have seen some arguments there too). Some of us sharing solutions to manage the side effects.

Skittle- I hope you are doing well and love the african violet story. How cool that you got to live in Germany. Was your family in the military? I have a nephew in the Army stationed there, but he goes to Hawaii (and hopefully not Syria) next.

Another doc apt today, not for anything cancer related. Things okay there, going to do some bloodwork to check on a few things.

Teka- wow, that is too bad. Fun days are so few and far between for so many going through this, one has to wonder why no one could say anything encouraging about having a good day like that. I am glad everyone here is so kind and present with one another.

Chilly morning!!

Cami- all is well with the PCP, just a BP follow up from early August when I was in for my physical and it was a bit high. Stress from work not doubt, it was not a good week that week.

Going to redo something called A1C test that sometimes can indicate if you are heading towards diabetes. My blood glucose has always been fine, but this test averages your blood sugar not just in a snapshot but over a three month period. It was slightly higher than normal last year so we are going to do it again. I have lost weight since the last one and hope this years reading is better. Just something that should have been done as part of my annual check up that got missed on the lab order!

Did not sleep well and feeling super tired this morning so I am going to work at home this morning and go into my client site at noon for some afternoon meetings. I am going through one of those irregular sleep times again, been going on since last Thursday. Feeling old and tired today...

Sorry u'r having a sleep problem, that really screws u up for the whole day. I'm glad u can work from home tho, it got to help the tiredness, and I like that u get the Diabetis test but I never heard of that one wow for 3 months--that's a good one. I want to know the results of course.

Cami- glad you like the cartoon. I saw it on FB this am and my friends say "too early for Halloween stuff" but I say it's always time for the ghosts and goblins.

They use the A1C with active diabetics to manage their care, but are using it now more to predict if folks are heading towards diabetes. My mother had the last 15 years of her life, so of course, they watch us for these things. I don't have to fast for it and will probably get it done this weekend. Will let you know how it goes!
