E - holding my breath - well, not literally, that would be uncomfortable if not impossible - for a good scan tomorrow. Will reach inside me to send all my strong positive energy towards you. If that doesn't work, I'll send tequila. In case you don't have enough.....
-
E - hoping for a good scan tomorrow and that the new med knocks the sh*t out of the bone meds. Phuque cancer.
Athena, missing you and sending good thoughts your way.
-
Just finished watching "Stardust" - what a charming movie! I never tire of it. Like "The Princess Bride," it is fun and entertaining and just plain nice. It always leaves me with a smile.
L -
E,
Best wishes for a good result on your next scans. xoxo
-
E, we are with you too!!! Sending you (((((hugs)))))

After I retired, my wife insisted that I accompany her on her trips to Target.
Unfortunately, like most men, I found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunate, my wife is like most women - she loves to browse.
Yesterday my dear wife received the following letter from the local Target:
Dear Mrs. Harris,
Over the past six months, your husband has caused quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this behavior and have been forced to ban both of you from the store. Our complaints against your husband, Mr. Harris, are
listed below and are documented by our video surveillance cameras:
1. June 15: He took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in other people's carts when they weren't looking.
2. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals.
3. July 7: He made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the women's restroom.
4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official voice, 'Code 3 in Housewares. Get on it right away'. This caused the employee to leave her assigned station and receive a reprimand from her Supervisor that in turn resulted with a union grievance, causing management to lose time and costing
the company money.
5. August 4: Went to the Service Desk and tried to put a bag of M&Ms on layaway.
6. August 14: Moved a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area.
7. August 15: Set up a tent in the camping department and told the children shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring pillows and blankets from the bedding department to which twenty children obliged.
8. August 23: When a clerk asked if they could help him he began crying and
screamed, 'Why can't you people just leave me alone?' EMTs were called.
9. September 4: Looked right into the security camera and used it as a mirror while he picked his nose.
10. September 10: While handling guns in the hunting department, he asked the clerk where the antidepressants were.
11. October 3: Darted around the store suspiciously while loudly humming the ' Mission Impossible' theme.
12. October 6: In the auto department, he practiced his 'Madonna look' by using different sizes of funnels.
13. October 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed through, yelled 'PICK ME! PICK ME!'
14. October 21: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, he assumed a fetal position and screamed 'OH NO! IT'S THOSE VOICES AGAIN!'
And last, but not least:
15. October 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited awhile, then yelled very loudly, 'Hey! There's no toilet paper in here.' One of the clerks passed out. -
hahahahaha - I never like Target anyway - too bad for them if they can't take a joke (or two)

-
I had my first ever visit to a Target store on my recent adventure through parts of the US. It was uneventful.
-
BTW - our appraisal came in right on the money - so it looks like we're finally getting a house.
It should close middle of August, and then we get to start tearing out wallpaper and carpet, painting and laying new flooring. Then we get to move in!!! -
Gg-great news about your house.
-
GG, congratulations!
-
YEAH YEAH YEAH GG - NEW HOME!!!! Congratulations - how exciting to have all the good things you are going to do on your To Do list - gardens? too? Plz remember to send b4 and after pics...
ENJOYFUL - we are all in your basket - sending hugs, tossing M&M's at the "cameras" with our fingers crossed, a well developed skill. MORE HUGS.
ATHENA - r-o-o-a-a-a-r - please put a paw in when you can. Just a little paw, so we'll all know you're there...or here....r-o-a-a-a-r....
-
-
Thanks, ladies!! I'm really excited (of course with a tinge of trepidation... after all, I wouldn't be me without something to fret about!!)
I'm hoping to plant some vegies - but I'm NOT starting any projects this fall!!! (Hubby has already threatened me if I do!)
-
Happy New Home to you GG. Splendid news for today.
I love all the beginning first steps in getting a house to be a home and all the great discoveries to be made. Like where the corner bakery ( oops not that maybe ) I mean Starbucks might be and who turns into the most fantastic neighbors. Learning how the house looks in the setting sun............lots of good adventures.
Rainy here, but for once I don't mind. We need just a little. First day to work at the new place....very,very nice. Move class tonight -- V.A. putting it on....just four more to go. Interesting and much needed.

GG, great news! It's really sounding like this is "the one!"

What IS that bird? A Blue Jay crossed with a Slatey Junco? Very strange.
Speaking of strange - I sometimes check the "Active List" to see if there's anything of interest, and am stunned by Spammer's BCO is getting - strange "movie" listings, other weird stuff. Thought there was a way to stop people from their ISP( remember the "sock puppet" days?) - these must be the same person, or a few people, using a different name each time. Can't imagine what they think there is to gain by spamming a breast cancer site. Strange, almost sadistic ;(
Thinking of E - hoping for b-o-r-i-n-g non-news.
-
I think its a Stellers Jay. Have to hit my bird book.
-
Yes ma'am that is it. A stellar jay. My dad used to call 'em camp robbers.

-
My 8 lb cat brought one of those Stellar Jays in through the cat door last year. Wow, the bird was as tall as her! Then she proceeded to drop it in the hallway. They can be mean and they remember. Luckily it flew to the top of my open backdoor and got out (squawking the whole time). They are part of the Corvidae family of birds and are known to hold a grudge against such assaults. I watched for days to make sure he or she didn't come back to attack my cat. They will remember which cat, too, or so I've read.
GG - finally you have a house! Congratulations. As much as I hate the remodeling process, it certainly is fun to pick out new finishes and paint and see the results.

Just a reminder ... It bears repeating. "Everybody not believing what you believe is not 'oppression.'"
In other news ...
Hoping that E and Athena are feeling better today ...
GG, congrats on getting closer to achieving your permanent home!

Graphics are outstanding Blue and RL. RL....dh and I just had a discussion this morning on the same subject. Easy to get into a chicken or egg train of thought. How much of what you find out ( depends partly on the way ) puts you on a certain track. Is it reading and understanding what YOU have read.....or is it the charismatic interpretation of someone else? Not always easy to empty out the thoughts/interpretations that abound.....and go with the knowingness of what your own psyche/soul understands.

Why oh why oh why does anyone think we should be a "Christian" nation? We've been doing just fine as a sectarian nation for lo these many years!
-

Jackie
no matter which side.
-
But Jackie -- Don't they have to READ it first, and UNDERSTAND it, ALL of it?
