Nihahi, Found this cake just for you, note the golden balls xxxx
-

Girls, better pic from Saturday, me on the right this time sporting MY OWN HAIR YAY. I have waves now which is a first for me xx
-
Edi, love the hair. Mine looks like that but black...LOL....I'm going to get it coloured once the drains are out !! I need highlights not liking the one colour !! DS is great. He has been such a good boy at my parents house. He came home tonight to sleep. DH was missing him to bits. The boys are both asleep but tomorrow morning I have to wake DS up early as parents will be here just before 9 to take me to my Breast Surgeon appt. Hopefully drains will be out tomorrow. They have been at 50ml for 2 consecutive days !! its my BS call so hopefully tomorrow is the day!!
Nihahi, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you....hope you had / have a wonderful day and get spoilt.
dakota, believe it's your sons birthday today, Happy Birthday to him. Hope you have a great day with him and no sports but lots of cake and spoiling to do
Hope you're healing well and bruise has gone down from the hip.Websister, Liefie, hope you girls are doing well.
To all you ladies, hope everything if good. Will check in tomorrow after BS appt. Should get an early night....just thought I'd check in and let you ladies know I'm here, reading and doing as well as can be
xoxox -
Edi...LOVE the cake...the golden balls are a special touch!!! Thanks!!!! Wow...the real hair is beautiful!
Traii....my, you sound like a "juicy one"....not sure I'd expect the grand pulling of the drains at that amount. The general consensus around here is closer to 30 or less.
Dakota....how's the new fipples???? Hope the tender spots are much better.
Liefie....Have a REALLY GOODSIZED cup of coffee, then head out the door and show that computer who's the boss.
Websister, Morwenna and Benny....hope you guys got some sleep last night..if so, you missed a pretty awesome light show!!!
Heading out to High River the next two days, again....probably gonna be a mucky day out there!
Have good days, ladies!!!! (((((X)))))
-
Yes, Nihahi - it was quite the light show and rain last night, not the best one for me for sleeping. Glad this is a day off. I was thinking this morning that this rain was not what was needed for flood cleanup efforts.
Edi - such a great cake for Nihahi and love your hair
Traii - sending hugs, recovery can be a bit of a drag, can't it?
Dakota - adding my happy birthday wishes to DS
Liefie - show that computer who's boss
-
Good morning, my dear Bellies!
Thank you all for the thoughts and concern about DD. today is SX day, and at this moment DD is "cleaning out the pipes" in case Surgeon gets in there and finds bowel involvement with endometriosis......at which point this becomes a whole horse of a different color for DD......way longs hospital stay and chance for more complications.... :
Nihahi, I hope you had a great birthday yesterday! Hope you treated yourself to something......
Liefie, you are just a tad more senior than me!
wishing you a "pre" Happy Birthday, and sending you cool, competent thoughts about that computer at DH's office...you've got this, girl! After DIEP, you can do ANYTHING!
Edi, I am amazed at the number of women whose hair comes in CURLY/WAVEY after chemo. Mine is both, so if I ever need to do chemo, mine will probably come back STRAIGHT! Loved Nihahi's BDay cake - the gold balls were a nice touch!
DD's SX is this afternoon about 12:30 (at last word) MST.......fingers crossed that there will be NO issues to screw up and complicate her day......MINE is already shot to hell!
My love to ALL of you, and hoping for smooth sailing for each of us today.....
XO
Namaste and God Bless - Jackie -
Hi girlies --
Back to work
Traii - fingers crossed for those drains
Nihahi - happy birthday !!!
Hips are still sore and nipples are still bandaged but I will be able to see them Thursday !!! Will keep u posted !!
Edi - so glad ur u again !!! -
Edi, shooting pains post rads is normal normal normal. I have the same thing and just had a follow up appointment with onco. He said it's expected and will gradually go away. Some of them were bad too! I shrieked out loud once in Wal-Mart! LOL
No time to talk, am late for riding lesson! Be back later!
-
Benny thanks for that, had a few times wanted to scream too. xx
-
Bellies-watching DD being wheeled into surgery has made me weak in the knees......and damn near close to panic mode.......I would trade my DIEP surgery TWICE over to keep her out of the OR..........

Namaste -Jackie -
Sending hugs, Movie. Stay strong. Hopefully DD is out and recovering by now
-
Movie, hope DD is out of surgery by now, and resting comfortably. I remember the times when each of my kids had to get tonsil surgery - that helpless feeling of there they go, and it's out of your hands . . . my wish for her is that she will now be free of her troubles, and that life will be much better for her. Hugs to you both!
The positive vibes from you all helped a lot today. Had a much easier time, and that computer behaved today - thank you guys! Will be back later. First have to produce some form of dinner - salmon and potato fish cakes and something to go with it. Inspiration will come to me . . . lol.
-
Liefie....so glad today was better....see....did we not tell you how amazingly talented you are!!!1
Movie....words just aren't enough. We are all trying to cover you and daughter with prayers and strength. Hoping to hear nothing but good news!
Had another rain/hailstorm go through High River AGAIN!!!!!!! Had to shut down the distribution area early, and cover stuff with tarps as quickly as possible. ENOUGH....PLEASE!!!!! Going back again tomorrow! Just getting such a personal reward from trying to help in the little way I can.
Hope all is well with everyone!
-
Dakota, can't wait for the unveiling of your fipples, and hope you are very pleased with them.
Nihahi, the weather has certainly gone a little crazy, eh? Can't imagine how the people of High River will ever put the pieces back together. What happened there is still mind-boggling to me. Good for you on helping where you can! Those people certainly need all the help they can get.
DH decided we are going to celebrate my birthday in Vancouver. Taking Thursday and Friday off - wonder how much my working at clinic has to do with this - I'm probably 'working' on his nerves more than anything - LOL. Van is such a lovely city in summer, and I'm really looking forward to lots of walking, coffee and ice-cream stops, water taxi's etc. I will most probably come home with some baby stuff. Can't wait!
-
Hello all
Nihahi happy birthday I hope it was wonderful.
Edi, so exciting about the baby, saw Kate and William leaving the hospital on tv today they looked so incredibly proud.
Dakota, hope you are healing quickly
Traii, are those pesky drains gone yet?
Movie thinking of your DD such a hard thing to deal with when young.
Morwenna, we all get inside our heads sometimes and that's ok we are all here for you,we can do this together.
I was wondering if anyone else's surgery arm got really tingly? Mine seems to be getting worse by the day since my last treatment. Been feeling dizzy as well, sometimes I think I am turning into a hypochondriac. -
Sweet Bellies......I am too pooped to poop........it has been a long, long day.......DD came through SX, but now we may also be dealing with interstitial (sp?) cystitis, a frequent companion to endometriosis.......chronic, but treatable......poor kid.....another pill to take.....

Thank you ALL for your love and concern.....it is much appreciated, believe me!
Will try to jump on again tomorrow....I have seen enough of the inside of hospitals over the past year that I am DONE......
XO

Hi, I'm feeling MUCH better today! Headache and abdo pain all resolved and radiation session today was considerably shorter, so less uncomfortable.
I didn't think I had a problem with my shoulders, unduly, but but by the time I finished yesterday, the pain in both was really quite intense, which added to my miseries, I think! I was naughty and took my sutures out of my port incision as they were bugging me, and the scar has healed really quickly. I hope I've not done myself a mischief, but its much more comfortable now!
Movie, I'm sorry your daughter is having to go through all that, and yes I've had experience with both kids having hospital treatment, and you're right, you'd do anything not to have them suffer, no matter what age!
Nihahi, I hope you had a wonderful birthday, and well done for the work you are doing. This thundery weather seems endless just now!
*waves to everyone, and heads off to bed!* -
Wow my sisters are such busy bees !!
So glad everyone moving forward ( me too )Movie, So glad DD out of surgery so wish you were nearer for a proper hug. The girls are right nothing worse than you kids suffering in any way. Go to the meadow and lie in the sunlight. Namaste x
Nihahi, more rain !! Mother nature is really angry at our world right now. Keep up your good work but take care, you are precious to us. x
Liefie, have a glorious birthday and break away from computer head for the baby shops armed with DH's card. LOL. The amount of baby stuff with royal sayings on i.e. " born to rule " is everywhere here. Bet you see some even in Vancouver.Have fun x
Morwenna, glad rads went better.
hope shoulders improve. xMaria had every feeling imaginable in arm
we all become hypocondriacs. My friend who is 17 years out still frets with every ache and pain. If worried ring hospital or BC nurse if you have one but sure someone on here may have had same feeling xTraii, did second drain come out ? Lovely that DS came home for the night. Enjoy your retail when you get out.If you dye hair, vegetable based dye from health shop stops reaction with chemicals in your hair from treatment. Easy to use and permanent. x
Dakota, hope you much less sore. x
Websister, Storms here have caused some horrendous damage, nothing like where you are but some direct strikes on houses from lightning. Beautiful old church had top of spire blown of and scattered into the school playground next door, good job children on holiday. x
Benny, any news on the chicken ? Still working up to riding lessons by the way. Passed riding school yesterday and must ring for prices etc soon. x
Bit of good news here, Shedman's stent safely removed yesterday, they have left it out in the hope he can eat and swallow normally again. Hope he behaves and sticks to soft foods for now but being a stubborn British man don't expect he will.
Have GD this afternoon, going to seaside to see pirate ship made out of driftwood by local artists. Little ones can climb all over it, should be fun.
Laters X
-

In advance for your Birthday Liefie as you will be away. xx
-

This is the driftwood pirate ship built by two gentlemen who tidy the beach.
-
That's awesome !!!
-
Well, so I come back on here to check out the thread on my laptop, about 5 hours after I had posted.....looking for my post............go back to my phone......there it was, sitting in submitting la la land...!!!!
So, here goes, short version. BS very happy with the drain output...50 ml, yes Nihahi, full of fluid, LOL but she still TOOK IT OUT..Yep, girls, I'm DRAIN FREE
I had my shower tonight and it felt sooooooooooooo good.My dad took me to the hospital today and he got his usual coffee from the cafe near by....went to check on the car to see if it needed more money....I called him, he came down and picked me up and there I was...looking like a hitchhiker, waving that drain bag I had around me for 2.5 weeks in the air like a flag...LOL People looked as if ' gee what is that crazy girl doing' but you know what, the crazy girl was doing that happy dance! lol.
My BS got one of the nurses to take off all the tape etc and the girls look good. Actually doesn't look all that bad without nipples...LOL...... So excited. Another milestone done. Now for some well earned retail therapy tomorrow you think? LOL
Maria, the tingly is most likely from the nerves. I had it a few months post surgery. You are NOT turning into a hypochondriac. I use to think that too about me...LOL.
Movie, glad DD's surgery went well. So long as the extra pill does what it needs to do, then another pill it is right?
Liefie, yeh, road trip, how exciting. Always nice to get away. Enjoy your trip. It's well deserved.
Edi, happy dance for shed man. How's GD afternoon go? Love the pic of the ship. I was told that we can use a more 'gentle ' colour , my cousin just won't put peroxide / amonia in it this time around. We will go gentle, thanks for the heads up. Have heard about the vegetable colour.
Nihahi, you are so sweet. Stay dry and safe. Sounds like your weather is a little crazy. Thought it was suppose to be summer for you too ???
Benny, hope the riding lesson went well. Was suprised, thought you were a rodeo girl and a pro!!
Websister / Dakota, sending big hugs. Hope you ladies aren't working too hard !!
Off to bed for me. Nurse will come for last home visit tomorrow just to check that drain site!!!! then no more rushing around in the mornings!!!
Hugs to all xx
-
And now for something completely different:
Today heard that my younger son has been admitted to Olds College to the Animal Health Technology course! He applied back in November and was told he was 15th on the wait list, so we really didn't think he would get in! So excited for him. It's definitely the best news I've had all year!!!
Rads went well again today, then I visited with mutual friends WendyC and Ade, who were both working at the Foothills today.
Then I did the steps on the Douglas Fir Trail again, and snoozed this afternoon!
It's a shame so much of the trail has been closed, but I gather the hillside has become really unstable now, which is a bummer!
-
LOVE LOVE LOVE good news !!
Traii, drain free cyber baby
so pleased for you. xMorwenna, what lovely news about your son. Told you rads would get easier. Well done on the steps. x
Had the most amazing afetrnoon yesterday. GD and I found the pirate boat after a walk along the seafront. We had to wait half an hour for the tide to go out so we could access the causeway leading to the part of the beach where it is.
She climbed all over it, walked the plank and then paddled in the Mersey. On way back she had a donkey ride
then fries and a foot long sausage for her tea. Then off to ice cream parlour for pudding.
There are huge rocks placed everywhere along the edge of the pavement, we sat on them facing the bus stop and half an hour later DH's bus arrived. Thought she was going to explode with joy !!
She wrapped her little arms around his neck and kissed him. Then perched on little seat we went for short bus ride.
Into local store to spend pocket money and bought a huge bubble wand. Had such fun with this too.
Shedman may be allowed home today so we are going to finish his relaxing space in his back garden ( yard ) it is looking lovely with tubs of flowers and all the wooden furniture painted cream. Please God he behaves and eats sensibly and well to get his strength back.Hope you all have a blissful day. x
-
Edi - that sounds like such a wonderful day! What a nice thing to do for Shedman, sounds so inviting and beautiful, hope he does well once home
Morwenna - wonderful news re: son's acceptance at Olds. Rads will settle into a pattern for you. I also used the opportunity to have coffee with friends who worked on site. Weather here has sure been unsettled eh?
Nihahi - Okotoks sounds like they got pretty hammered by hail yesterday. Did you fare OK with it? I was out there earlier in the day to visit my Mom and she told me you also got hail the day before. How is the work in High River going? Hampered by this weather?
Traii - wonderful news re: drains - happy dancing for you
Liefie - you are probably in Vancouver considering all the baby things you would like to shop for. Wishing you a wonderful birthday weekend with DH!
Movie - how is DD doing postop? Anymore news on the interstitial cystitis? And how are you holding up?
Dakota - looking forward to your 'fipple' update. How was DS birthday?
Caitlin, Maria, Alive, Benny, Carla and anyone else I have missed mentioning by name - hoping you all have a good day. I'm off today and looking forward to time in the garden after some housework but first I'm enjoying my morning coffee
Take care everyone -
Ok ladies !!!
I am going for the big reveal today I am covered up until the surgeon uncovers me today. I will post after my appt. can't wait!!! -
You're a much more patient patient than me Dakota! ...... I'd have been peeking. Hell, I'd have been in there unpicking stuff!!!!

If/when I get recon, my son (the vet!), is threatening me with one of those plastic cones that animals wear. Two in fact, one for each hand!
Good luck for the big reveal!!! -
Morwenna-
I am too nervous too !!! He told me if there was any infection he would have to start all over with a new foob. I don't want to go there !!!!
-
How did the big reveal go Dakota? Hope all is ok and nipple doing well.
-
Hi Ladies,
Coming home each night exhausted but "rewarded". Red Cross work doesn't seem to have an end in sight yet. The almost daily rain and hail is definitely making things more challenging. Yesterday's possible nearby tornado was something we didn't need either! The neighbout who started chemo today actually got another ride, so I was back at the High River location again. Here in Okotoks, my plants on the balcony have gotten semi-shredded by hail, 2x, but that is certainly small potatoes compared to what has happened to some people.
Traii...sounds like things are going great for you, that's wonderful
Dakota....I, too, am waiting for the big reveal. I've heard the fipples start out MUCH bigger than they end up.
Morwenna....that is great news for your son!!!!
Liefie.......have a great day tomorrow...enjoy your birthday! Happy baby shopping, maybe???
Going to end here, sorry not to respond to everyone, but love to all.
