Hi

Hope everybody has had a good weekend.
Not long got back from the race for life held in one of our local parks for cancer research. Three and a half thousand wonderful people took part,
My ED and DD plus their six year old daughters walked it in one hour 1 minute. Littlest one dressed as a fairy !! DD interviewed on local radio and they asked her why she was doing it " For my Mum " Edi sobbing at finish line
Not too hot today thank goodness so ideal, they all receive a medal, bottle of water in pink bottle and choc chip cookies. They were thrilled to bits but not as thrilled as Nana seeing them being so grown up.
Then went to shedman's house DH is repainting all their wooden garden furniture and making a peaceful comfy area to rest in when he comes home hopefully at the end of the week. He never goes over the doorstep nd needs some sun on his face and fresh air.Nihahi, this volunteering is really great isn't it ? Makes you feel like you are giving something back too.
Mowenna, gutted about bananas story, just love them and thought they might be helping
.Hopefully having chicken korma for tea
really craving tasty food. ( must be pregnant ) LOL.Lovsya All xx

My Bellies-
Love you ladies! So special!
Edi, love your pic! What a sweet family you have!
15 hours on road.....at hotel. Just about to leave for airport to pick up DD #4.....we are here for surgery......she has runaway endometriosis, and NOTHING has been able to stop it....she lives with constant pain......this SX may take most of her female organs....I am exhausted, and heartbroken, for her. Would really appreciate prayers and good thoughts......she needs something to go right for a change.....
Feeling emotional.....I hope a good night's sleep can rectify that......
Love and ((((HUGS)))) going out to you all.......
Namaste and God Bless-Jackie -
Edi, lovely family, no wonder you're proud of them all!
Sorry to rain on your banana parade, but you can still eat them anyway!
I visited with my oldest bestest friend today, and went mushing on an ATV with her huskies!
Tomorrow rads starts! "_" -
Your DD is in my prayers n thoughts Movie. Hope surgery goes well along wirh a speedy recovery.
Hugs going out to you to stay strong for your DD. xox -
Movie,
Hoping all goes as well as it can do for DD's surgery. Isn't it hard to see our loved ones suffer and not to be able to take away their pain?
Special hugs to you. xxx -
Hi girls,
Movie, all the best to you and DD. Can't imagine her going through this at her young age, and you will certainly be in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs to you both!
So glad to see everyone else doing so well, and feeling good - makes me happy!
Came home really tired a while ago from a lovely but busy weekend visiting with friends. Spent most of our time on the deck of the house overlooking the ocean, and now has some colour from the sun. There were the cutest baby stuff at the farmer's market, but we were there in a group, so could not buy as nobody is supposed to know yet. Will go back there by myself one Saturday, and then there will be no stopping me.
Will probably not be able to check in as often as I want to during the next few days when I will be working, but will read to keep up. Off to bed now to rest before I have to face that work computer tomorrow - will probably have nightmares about that tonight - lol. Wishing all of you the best, and I hope you all have a good week.
-
Hi

Our Princess Kate is in labour at last !! 6 am this morning, I am betting it is a girl

Drink lots of water. If it makes you tired, nap ! Have been looking at the TN forum and saw you there, have put that one on my favourites it has lifted my spirits a lot. Really positive ladies
xMarie, hope you still smiling

My little Fairy with the labels ED and her wore on their backs with the reasons they were walking, made me cry
even though she is so young she understood the reason the money was needed. -
Morning Ladies...
Movie....omg....I wish "wishes" had wings and the power to sort things out for your daughter. I cannot imagine how exhausted and stressed you all are, physically and emotionally. I am sending prayers and positive vibes to you all. The "details" of the surgery are certainly not what you all want, but hopefully, will resolve her pain and give her a chance to move forward in life. My other thoughts are more in the "CRAP....why does this happen" category! Still trying to figure out the possibility of meeting up in Glacier....it would be almost a days drive for me...I either have to go down into Montana and loop around to West Glacier, or go down to Waterton then over the "Going to the Sun" road and over the pass. Neither way is a fast route and customs processing time can be fast or slow, depending on the "mood" of the day.
Liefie...hope you don't stress too much. I have been in more than a few work situations where the best thing to do was just say "I am just filling in, I am just learning this computer thing....can we get back to you?" You are not triaging patients in a mass disaster!!! Put the calls on hold, take messages, smile, drink coffee.....remember to breathe.....then tell hubby you're going out for dinner!!!!!! Hope daughter's baby nausea is better with the meds.
Traii....how's it going??? Did you get those hair highlights yet???
Morwenna...hope rads go well for you....sounds like you've been having a gooooood time...good on you!
Benny, Websister....hot this weekend, eh! I've been doing the Red Cross volunteer stuff...difficult and rewarding, all rolled into the same package. I'm going back again this week for 3 more times, not sure what the plan is after that, as things are being scaled back (the stuff I've been doing, anyways) at the end of next weekend. I am seriously thinking of signing up full-time, but need more info on what kind of opportunities there are for me. The High River people are just so devastated and so resilient....makes you want to just hug everyone darn one of them!!!!!!
Maria...how are you doing girl???? Hope the shoulder is healing for daughter.
Edi...cannot tell you how wonderful it is to have you "back". You were tucked behind everyone in the photo....is that the "real hair" you were sporting???? Hope the try on of the fancy wedding clothes went ok.....it sounds like quite the do! If that royal baby is born today....it'll share it's birthday with me....yep...turning the big 63 today!!!!! No need for a cake....I ate too much junk on the weekend
. Off to another massage soon...then going to have to taper them off to be less frequent. Hope everyone (I'm sorry, I know I haven't mentioned all....doesn't mean I'm not thinking of you) has wonderful days.
-
Movie....just rechecked the map...not sure what I was thinking, but obviously I wouldn't have to do the Logan Pass/Going to the Sun route.....still not sure about the meetup....it is still a big hmmmm??? Might need to plan a meetup with a little more advance strategy! Still sending hugs and hope re: daughter.

It's a little Prince
One day he will be our King. Really exciting, think they are coming home tomorrow. They think that the new family will go to Kate's Mum's home for a while. Princess Diana would have loved this moment, seems like only a few years ago that William came down the hospital steps in his Fathers arms.Hope you and yours are well and happy. xx
-
Well, congrats Edi on the new prince! Pretty sure I wouldn't want a "royal life", but it is an exciting time for the British people. Think they'd consider a name of Scouser for the little guy. Scouser Cambridge sounds like someone who could stand up to just about anything life could throw
.fyi...Websister and Benny....the massage therapist I have found and fallen in love with, I discovered today also does lymph massage, and has worked on lympha and post-rads patients. Not trying to push her on you, just thought I'd let you know.
-
I think you cannot really be called Scouser unless you ARE a scouser!

I heard about the new baby as I was being set up on the rads table. I'd just put my hands up over my head, and one of the rad therapists told the other one. I told them I would remember that moment for the rest of my life, and laughed, as I remember hearing about Prince William's birth when the principal of our physiotherapy school in Cardiff burst into our classroom in a state of high excitement to announce it!
I'm not feeling very well right now. My head and stomach aches, and I have a sort of "fluey" feeling. Is that from the radiation? I'm not sure. I felt ok this morning, maybe a little tummy pain actually.
After radiation I felt quite teary. I think I had just started to feel a bit more like myself, and now I'm suddenly a "cancer patient" again. I keep telling myself its just three weeks, but the therapist this morning was at great pains to let me know that the greatest effect peaks 1-2 weeks post Tx, and then you recover.
Hrumphh. Pouring myself a drink and going to have a long bath. I think its the thundery weather affecting me. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow!
Sorry everyone, got my sorry-socks on today. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible!
-
dear morwenna....the sorry socks have found their way to most of our feet at one time or another. These eternal, never ending thunderstorms aren't helping anyone either....hope you feel better in the morning. You are gonna get through this next round of CRAP just like the rest...one day at a time.
-
Sorry for not checking in this weekend, it was a very busy one
Movie - thinking of you and your daughter
Edi - lovely picture of GD, wonderful news re: baby boy for William and Kate
Liefie - hope you got through the first day of work OK, Nihahi gave great advice
Nihahi - Happy Birthday! I agree re: the people of High River, they are incredible. I have some friends who worked in High River last week and are working at the Tsu Tina reserve this week
Re: massage - I plan to phone to book tomorrow, hoping for a Thursday appointment
Morwenna - I'm not sure the physical symptoms you have are related to the radiation but I do relate to the feelings you having re: radiation. One day at a time, use that Glaxal base, rest when needed. I found about about 7 - 10 days post rads to be the most uncomfortable but once the skin starts healing it seemed to get better very quickly.
I sometimes get a little down when I see others moving on and I still have 3 more months of Herceptin to go, port removal at some point and reconstruction to get through - I let myself wallow for a bit and then look back at how far I've come and decide to get on with it again - the ladies here have been the best, couldn't do it without them
Everyone else - sending greetings, Dakota hope you are healing well and not too sore. I am heading off to bed, this back to work stuff is really cramping my style
-
Websister....you might be out of luck...she (massage therapist) is going on vacation soon for a couple weeks. She will be back the week of Aug 12. Wouldn't hurt to pop her a quick email though, just to see if she has any spots open. Remember to tell her I gave you her name. Thanks for the birthday wish....old lady tottering off to bed soon!
-
Thanks, Nihahi - you can't fool me with the 'old' act

Traii - forgot to ask if you are drain less yet? Hope all is going well -
Edi, congrats on the little prince being born at last - what excitement everywhere! The world needs news like this more often. Your little GD is such a pretty, adorable little thing - I'm sure she takes after Grandma Scouser. So sad though that Grandma Diana is not there to share in the joy.
Nihahi, happy, happy birthday to you! Hope you had a lovely day doing something very nice! I'm celebrating my 59th on Thursday. Work was not too bad. Had a bit of a meltdown at the start of the day because it was so overwhelming with lots happening simultaneously, and the phone that never stops ringing . . . DH came to the rescue, and once I had the computer under control (sort of - lol), things went better. It is just that I feel so out of my depth, and so incompetent. But I'll keep the homefires burning - lol.
Morwenna, rads will make you want to sleep more, so just go with the flow. I often napped, and slept like I've never slept before in my life, sometimes eleven hours a night during rads. Don't forget about the Aloe Vera gel (non alcoholic) to slap on immediately after rads to cool down the skin. For me rads was a breeze after chemo, and it will get easier for you within a day or two. Best wishes to you!
Movie, how is DD doing? And you? Sending positive vibes that way, and hope she will recover quickly. So sorry for her - so young to deal with all this.
Websister, you have come so far, and the end is in sight for you. Work is certainly way harder than staying at home - lol! I found that out again today. So used to be at home doing my own thing in peace and quiet. The busy work environment is not for me any more.
Good night, and sweet dreams everybody! Have to rest - another round tomorrow! LOL.
-
Liefie...thanks! I thought you'd be tucked into bed long before this! Tomorrow you'll be sailing through the office stuff like a pro. Glad to hear hubby helped out in your time of need. You'll just enjoy the serenity of being home even more after the "steno stint"

Dakota and Traii...how are you doing? A bit quiet from you two the past couple days. Hope everything is going ok.
Edi...now that little guy needs a name.....what's your best guess? Have you done the get together with shedman and friends yet....the one you hoped to drive, instead of him?? Hope it went well.
Websister, Benny...how the heck are you sleeping through this thunder and lightning???
-
Nihahi, thanks for the faith you have in me re having that work situation under control tomorrow- hope you are right. Give me a class with 40 busy teenagers, and I know what to do with them. One office computer? Not so much - LOL! Hope the unruly weather will calm down now so that you can get some sleep.
-
Nihahi, just realised that I hadn't wished you a very Happy Birthday xxxx prattling on about royal babas and then remembered it was the birth of a Princess too ( YOU ). Now will have no excuse for forgetting from now on.
Outing with shedman went txxs up I am afraid he was in hospital having tests as food lodging in pipe again
we were all worried that the tumour was causing it but no, his flippin stent has moved. Today being taken to Liverpool hospital for operation to try and retreive it. Saw him yesterday and he does look better, they have rehydrated him and can't believe the difference. Just praying op works.
Lovely that you have found someone good to help re massage, had reflex and Reiki yesterday and do feel better for it.xTraii, is the other drain out yet chick ? How is DS x
Websister, Bet being back to work knocks your socks off !! You are amazing. Hope you get appointment for massage soon. How is your little Princess and family x
Mowenna, never had any se's from rads except being tired and dry skin. Please don't despair, you are nearly there, I cried at the end of it all as felt abandoned but it all subsides and life takes over as normality returns.Keep that chin up
xMovie, thinking of you and DD x
Liefie, keep hearing Dolly Parton singing 9-5 when I think of you. Go girl !! you will be flying through the day before you know it. Prince William spent the night with his new family at the hospital. Champagne corks popping on the streets of London. World's press camped opposite for that first picture. x
Marie, how you feeling ? x
Dakota, you healing well ? Hope you are relaxing as much as you can x
We have thunder and lightning here too !! Still humid though, garden will be grateful, grass yellow no matter what you do.
Quick question, anyone had shooting pains in rad boob weeks after all finished. ? Getting paranoid and keep feeling for lumps, silly woman. First Mammogram 23 August dreading it, if it hurts, likely to punch someones lights out LOL.
Laters potatoes xx
