Did I read lose 5-7 lbs? Gimme, gimme! I've gained 5 on Aromasin and would love to take them off, PLUS get protection from bc!
-
Yorkie - I've lost weight on Aromasin (generic Exemestane). Hint
- watching what I eat and exercising more. (Pulling your leg.) Honestly, I have lost weight while taking this drug just by changing my diet, so not sure what would have happened had I not gone from what I did before to what I do now. -
GG - Fabulous! New, clean, clean, no mold, no one else's left over cat dander ( no matter how much you sweep) and all on one floor. Divine. Heavenly. Enough land to have a garden, have you heard of the Livable Landscapes. NO GRASS. Google them - fascinating. Much interest in permaculture landscaping around here.
Raised beds, so much easier for creaky joints. Some wonderful books by RUTH STOUT, many reprints, you'll find in used bookstores too. "How to have a Green Thumb without an Aching Back" - YOU WILL LOVE THEM!!!!!
RL - I thought I HAD blocked, but all my blocks seem to go? Also, I thought I had a certain thread blocked, but it wasn't and when I went to BLOCK it, I kept getting a screen saying I couldn't. No Matter, I've just put on individual blocks. Just don't like getting their emails
But, as they seem to read it, guess they now know that too....So nice to know we have more Saturday Women arriving on Nov. 1 ;-)))) Just love waking up with the opportunity to create my day. Love it.

Kam the for and cedar are gone. We've south and east exposure in the backyard. We were the first purchasers in the development (though it's not over till it's over so could still fall apart) but we chose the biggest lot with the best southern exposure.
Unfortunately we haven't yet locked in financing and I've been watching the rates creep up while biting my fingernails! We meet w the finance guy Saturday.
I've started yard planning & am trying to aim for easy lonh term care
Hope it doesn't fall apart cuz we are sick of looking! -
Kam, I did at first also. But for some reason that has all changed over the last 6 months. I exercise at least one half hour a day and am on a perpetual low carb diet. Sigh. I'm really not sure what's going on. Clearly I just have to be more vigilant with my diet and exercise, because I'm on this med for the duration.

Yorkie - have you had your thyroid hormones checked? TSH ( thyroid stimulating hormone) blood test and it SHOULD be under 2.5
Some docs still use old measurement of under 6. SO, if your results just say "normal" - MAKE SURE you get the exact number. So many women with bc seem to have a related thyroid issue. Really worth checking if you haven't already.
Kam - I agree with the lo-carb. Also avoiding the 5 whites (potatoes, bread, rice, sugar, pasta) - so only low glycemic carbs. Even brown rice raises my blood glucose. I use quinoa, teff, millet. Also Beans. Some tofu. And can't say enough how much I urge people to stop using Agave. What a marketing hype that one is.
-
Adding: also avoid most dairy, anything from a cow
Trader Joe's has their own brand Goat's Milk Yougurt - THE BEST. -
Sunny, my thyroid is being monitored because of some benign nodules. I had a thyroid panel test but can't remember the numbers, except that it was "normal," hmmmm. Also, cheese is my greatest weakness, although I try to only eat low fat organic. Guess I need to cut that out if I want to lose the weight. :-(
-
I think Yorkie is the low-carb. I am fruit, vegetables (95% greens only) and supplemental protein from salmon and sometimes beans. I strive for the Chimpanzee diet

GG - your house situation sounds perfect!!! 1/3 of an acre is manageable and gives you space!
Going to a breast cancer fund dinner tonite. It is the annual Climb Against the Odds of our 14,000 ft + mountain. They had bad weather all week so did the whole climb in one day. They are just finishing and my "date" is exhausted. She's 68 and climbs the mountain every year. Actually more than once a year. It's a great fundraising event for breast cancer prevention. http://www.insideprevention.org/2013/06/all-climbers-have-left-base-camp.html

Hi KAM170 and Everyone!

We are also discussing Metformin in the TNBC Forum right now. I saw that some questions were asked about Luminal B here, and so far when I Google'd this off the internet, this is what I found from the Susan G. Komen website, so I thought I would share it with all of you.
Well, it wouldn't let me put the chart/box in here, so here's a link with the status for each subtype. If you know if you are ER/PR/HER2 you can figure out if you are Luminal A, Luminal B, etc in this box. You can think ask your Onc to confirm that you have the subtype right.

My man and me

What a delightful couple! LOOOOVE the dress, E! You two look so happy! It looks like you had a simply mah-velous time!
Thanks, Inspired by Dolce. I had DCIS (twice) and my path reports did not indicate HER2 status or Ki number. Still not sure which I am and I have no oncologist to ask (nobody wants to see me anymore with a BMX, DCIS and no hormonals). Your information is very useful!

E - he's definitely a keeper
You look lovely - hope you had a great time. -
E, you both, but especially you
, look wonderful and so happy!! Just goes to show how well a non-event can work out! -
Wow -- he's TALL! What an absolutely charming photo E!
-
Good Morning Everyone,
Heading up north today to Sam's Club with my sister.

Confuzzled - KAM, can a person be Luminal A with a grade 3 tumor? Read the linkie to Komen, seems most Luminal A are low or med grade.
Don't know Ki, but Oncotype was 31. Remember laughing with my doc, as I was just into stage ii by about a mm, and into "high" Onc by 1 - response "well, we have to put the lines someplace" - so love having a doc with very little respect for "statistics" - they were surprised surgeon took out so many nodes, when both sentinel were negative - but there we are. History - blessed to have no lymphedema...
Now, Yorkie, if you mention cheese I can easily begin to drool, kinda like it you look at green olives, and you start to salivate. Seriously. The only way to avoid cheese is not to allow it in the house. AND eating on the Patio counts as house
Seriously - it is my first love, even more than chocolate. Also probably the most high caloric, FAT filled consumable. The "low fat" stuff reminds me of glue -
Sending CHIRPS to chickadee - cruise bound soon?
Hugs to Athena - hate waiting, but waiting for GOOD news, more than boring, GOOD NEWS.

-
ahhhh cheese!!! I LOVE cheese. If I do eat it, though, it has to be first thing in the morning - and I don't like cheese in the morning. But any milk products in the evening and I'll throw up all night. At least it helps me not eat it....
