Blue....I'd be trying that cake too. What a great picture. My mom ( without any real training ) could make cakes like that. She made my best friends wedding cakes. I miss her every day..always.
Athena ( HOPE ) Good for the big M helping you get by.

Happy Dance for Mary! Wonderful news - happy summer.
Athena - good mood is good news. Hope all the other stuff ( scans) are good too. When I think of you, I think of a Mother Lion taking such good care of her little ones...take GOOD CARE OF YOURSELF...as you would for the cubs...
Kam - I never watched the hypocrit, but was stunned that she was allowed to go on after hiding being a diabetic for several years, well, until she became the spokesperson for diabetic medication. Yikes - doesn't even cover it. I am moving farther and farther away from the "popular culture" and loving it here

Bren ( and Kam) tho I missed that exchange of posts - PLEASE consider Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils - even just buy a few - and you'll see why they're so much better than primsmacolor.
-
Looks like I may be getting married. Maybe? God knows why, but my man wants to sweep me off my feet and marry me. Maybe he's insane? What's that saying - I don't want to marry anyone who wants to marry me? Something like that.
:-)
-
Now that's a lovely dilemma to solve!
-
E, that's wonderful! All I can say is, follow your heart, it always knows best!

Hi Everyone,
Been busy cleaning and walking the dogs today. Talked to one of my clients yesterday and he said he will have a lot of work for me the beginning of the week. Yay. Tim is still stuck in Kentucky. arghh.
Sunnyflowers ... Thanks for the advice on the Faber Castell. I have a couple of the Faber water color pencils and really like them. I checked out the Bick site and saw that they sell the Faber polychromos individually. Maybe I can buy a few at a time. There aren't any art stores near me. The closest we've got is a an AC Moore and Hobby Lobby, and both are an hour away. They have very few good pencils for sale. That's where I got the Faber water color pencils.
Enjoyful ... OMG ... I mean OMG ... what the heck is going on in Maryland? Is there something in the water I'm missing out on. If you get married, where will Sampson live? It sounds like you're being swept off your feet. What a wonderful feeling that must be.
Illinois ... I love that bulldog puppy you posted! Always wanted one ... but they can be so stubborn!
hugs to all,
Bren

Love and marriage, love and marriage
Go together like a horse and carriage
This I tell you brother
You can't have one without the other
Love and marriage, love and marriage
It's an institute you can't disparageI don't know why E, but this song came to mind.
Thanks Sunny on the tips on the pencils. I have Faber-Castell in regular lead and they are very good. I'm not doing colored pencils now (or ever), but I expect to try them again, now that I understand more about color theory. Art is finally becoming less of a mystery.
Athena:
Hard to believe she is "just recreating" as it's probably >100 degrees there.

Facebook Says Technical Flaw Exposed 6 Million Users
By REUTERS
SAN FRANCISCO — Facebook has inadvertently exposed six million users’ phone numbers and e-mail addresses to unauthorized viewers over the last year, the company said late Friday.
Facebook blamed the data leaks, which began in 2012, on a technical flaw in its huge archive of contact information collected from its 1.1 billion users worldwide. As a result of the problem, Facebook users who downloaded contact data for their list of friends obtained additional information that they were not supposed to have.Facebook’s security team was alerted to the problem last week and fixed it within 24 hours. But Facebook did not publicly acknowledge the flaw until Friday afternoon, when it published a message on its blog explaining the situation.
A Facebook spokesman said the delay was because of a company procedure stipulating that regulators and affected users be notified before making a public announcement.
“We currently have no evidence that this bug has been exploited maliciously, and we have not received complaints from users or seen anomalous behavior on the tool or site to suggest wrongdoing,” Facebook said on its blog.
While the privacy breach was limited, “It’s still something we’re upset and embarrassed by, and we’ll work doubly hard to make sure nothing like this happens again,” it added.

Enbarrassed and upset????? Why he hell should we tolerate that crap?

E - He's not insane - you are a gorgeous woman, why wouldn't he want to marry you. As the others said - follow your heart.
Athena - good to hear from you ((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))
-
E - Wow, how exciting!
Mary, yay! - I'm happy for your good news.
-
Bren - glad someone got a giggle. Having DONE it once, and never again, thankyouverymuch, I remember what a friend said when we were single 25 year olds, she was married. Being 25 and not married in THOSE days, meant, well, the married friend said:
" The only problem being married solves, is the problem of not being married." Those words gained in wisdom over the years. I still remember her saying it...we didn't laugh then, WE DO NOW

-
The song that came to me was: "Mama he's crazy" (the Judds).
-
Wakey, wakey everyone. It's a wonderful day to be alive! Lots to do!!!!!!!!!!!
