I say yes, you say no, OR People are Strange

Mary, I'll be right behind you to throw the second punch. I threw someone out of my office after Sandy Hook who tried to spout NRA talking points. The children don't deserve any of this.
L -
My best friends daughter's house may not be standing. Her little boy's daycare center was hit and the kids escaped with a few cuts.
There is enough real grief in the world. I don't understand people who deliberately provoke others.
-
24 children still missing. Just saw a woman who said she came home...front of house still standing, back is gone. "We've lost animals." Earlier, I heard a horse farm was hit...75 horses killed - not verified.
I use to go "there" when I thought they could use some facts. Got nothing but grief from above and the rest of them, simply for facts. Not worth it and facts aren't interesting to them.<< Took me awhile to figure that out Sunny!
To come here and disparage one of our posters for something they themselves do on a regular basis is just crazy. Someone said "sprialing" the other day. Good word for it. -
They are saying the school is a recovery scene now. We should be able to protect the children. Rosemary, I'm happy to hear the people you know are OK.
L -
Nobody on the Mirror thread sends pm's to you. Just sayin.
-
That was me, Kam.
I think it's a perfect word for the behavior. Mary

The blue bars of serenity.

The blue bars of serenity indeed.....

-
HL - Congrats coming your way!
Funny, you've been in guv'mint since 1979 and you still believe in individual freedoms - strange, no?
-
Still going on about pm's. I feel like Obama. I'm being set up! I can post them if you like. Let me know. I'm never ashamed of anything I do because every word I type is guarded, and well thought out. They were my way of saying, in a benign way, that you and the other person were not fooling me. Sherlock Hemlock at your service! hahahaaaah!
But not tonight...too tired. I danced with my grandson today! Tomorrow if you like. Or you can just drop it....your call. Just don't get the GOP to send bogus emails OK?
-
Hmmmm, never thought I'd see this kind of article in Forbes:
"Economically, Could Obama be America's Best President?"
-
Glad you danced with your grandson...thats a much more pleasant experience than this ridiculous sparring we are engaged in. I dont take issue with whats in the pm's rather, that you feel the need to send a pm at all. I dont understand why you care enough to bother.
-
Question already answered, Night!
-
Pip....big congrats to you -- enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.
Blue (((hugs)))) hope you get the back feeling mucho better. As they say....I don't mind being crazy, it has kept me from going insane.
Something about trolls.....yikes --- they'll go home I'm sure
I didn't hear about all the storm devastation until right before I came home. Went right after work to spend some time with a friend that just lost her husband.
I will be tunning in soon as I get done here to catch up on some of the news. We have an advisory here to just keep our eyes open so may get some ( likely a lot of rain more than anything ) activity sometime during the night.
I do find it --- not that it can't sound repetitive....so very, very nice not to be seeing the other thread. Conservatism was never for me --- boring, flat, lifeless. All my life there has been someone or something that needed help.....sometimes it has even been me.
As to .... I've now had supper and had time to forgot whose entry it was, someone mentioning that the Pres. ratings have gone up....yes, yes, yes. I have been reading that and I too believe that these manufactured scandals and slurs, and other reprehensible behaviours have been VERY wearing on a nation that wants to heal from 9/11, a couple of wars, a few disasters and the killing of innocent children so recently. So, not at all surprised that the current round of tricks, obstructions and general negative behaviors are not having the desired effect. The people trying to bring it about look cold, extremely un-caring and somewhat fanatical in their FAILED missions.
I think/hope/pray that the message will be louder and clearer than ever in regard to all of this in the next couple of elections.
See you all later. Love those troll blocks.

blue bars - lovely....glad the Moderators can still read behind the blue lines tho....having a giggle about my favorite Agatha Christie....And then there were....
Troll Blocks - much better than broccoli. Just got online to see if there was some good news from the elementary school in Moore, can't stop thinking about those little kids - and their parents - just tooo sad...

Oh come ON!
http://blogs.rollcall.com/wgdb/coburn-wants-tornado-disaster-aid-to-be-offset/
This is one, only one, reason why you can't have a balanced budget at the Federal level. Who can predict the costs of storm devastation, or necessary military actions....? And yet he'll hold these people hostage to make a political point? Or worse, because he thinks the storm victims should just pull themselves up by their bootstraps, or have a bake sale, or do some fundraising after they've lost everything, everything?
This guy should rot in hell.
-
I saw that this morning, E. I will never understand hatefulness like that -- yeah, let's take money away from school lunches to help people who have lost everything (including
loved ones) - but never, ever, EVER touch farm subsidies or those damn jets and tanks that the military doesn't want and keeps trying to defund. I cannot imagine Coburn getting re-elected after this, but people have short memories or are easily bamboozled. Rot in hell indeed - right next to Jesse and Strom.

Very tired tonight - struggling with recovery transactions and the code I have to write at work - can't wait until I hit the sack and the new mattress topper

Congrats to PiP on her retirement and GG on her new house!
It's shaping up to be a beautiful day here . . . I have spring fever so bad it isn't funny.

Giving thanks for FEMA, and all the work they do. Giving thanks the people of OK will not suffer for the selfish stupidity of their elected representatives who voted against assistance in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy - givng thanks for having President Obama as the President of the United States - knowing that he will fight as much as he can to stop eliminating funding for school lunches...
School lunches - in many situations the ONLY food some children will get for the day. Are we really living in a country where there are people who will deny children access to food? Don't even want to think about it...not possible.
-
Made it back from Vermont to Jersey. Just goes to show, don't drive a car with 160,000 miles in areas that don't have cell phone reception, i.e. much of Vermont.
GG, HL, and Pip - congrats.
Been caught up in the Oklahoma story. I've been very close to tornados - when I grew up in Cincinnati. Still remember looking out my apartment window towards the Western Hill and seeing a tornado twisting at the top of it - that was 1974. Very few things as frightening.
just an aside - we not only need to help the victims of the latest disaster, but start talking about the frequency of severe weather and global warming.
-
Congrats to all the soon to be retirees! And the new home owners! Exciting times.
Ya know, ya at least gotta love Sarah Palin for her entertainment value. Bless her little heart. Poor thing really doesn't understand that much of the country sees her for the idiot that she is.

Alexandria....was thinking on the same as you. Global warming is here wreaking havoc, taking lives and putting everyone at some sort of risk. I've had such high hopes that the GOP would WAKE up out of their moronic, despicable behaviors and do their jobs. They are like spoiled brats having tantrums and if I were the people of Oklahoma....not only wouldn't I re-elect this guy......I'd likely ask him to vacate the state. Total disgrace of a person.
These miss-fits belong on an island....all together somewhere and see how well they govern themselves. I'd be hoping to be voted off the island first for sure. What a loser's bunch they are.
GG....forgot to say yay on the new home.

UNION workers - always the "helpers" - as Mr. Roberts mom told him, in time of trouble, "Look for the helpers."
Belinda - off to read your huffpo link - "bless her heart" - love it.
Get the best info here, so many thanks, many thanks...

Here's just one comment out of many on Coburn's FB page:
You say you are a 'Christian' and believe in the 'sanctity of human life'? Would Jesus bargain before he helped people? Would he put budgets over human life and suffering? Money over people? What if those children were your grandchildren and your house and your life were destroyed? Would you say, "don't worry about us. Balance the budget first" have you no compassion, sir?
-
-
Belinda - it's still quite unbelievable that SP could have been a heartbeat away from the Presidency. She may be a joke now, but the joke could have been on us. The current GOP should be shamed into oblivion for that nomination alone. They have a couple of other scarey figures on the horizon now....
California mountains have had one of those dryest (wonderful for me personally), warmest (perfect for growing Kale & walking, i.e. not hot) Winter/Springs on record. We are in a drought though, equaling 1977, which was a bad year for forest fires. Actually, since the average temperature has gone up a couple of degrees since 1977, all of our forest fires have intensified in size, even since that bad drought year. In 1999, I worked on what was the biggest "forest" fire in the nation that year. It was 129,000 acres. This would be considered small by 2000 standards. Now we regularly can get 300,000 acres or more. Climate change is very evident in the forests. On that topic, I keep hearing we are approaching the "point of no return" on climate change. How can we change that many minds to fix this?
