I know Sheila! I already planted my veggies. Everything is covered. They better make it. Frost again tomorrow night. My heat is off, which is fine by me (hot flashes). I will have a bunch of pissed off men in the morning! lol!

Hi Ducky.....How are you feeling today/
We love you...♥
-
Guess who found her card - in her room... the thing that makes me mad is that I start to doubt myself and wonder if I did lose it somehow... nope no apologies - from her or her father who came downstairs wondering what what going on with that stupid look on his face (that his sleep was disturbed - God forbid he should be disturbed - of course, my whole life is disturbed...but that's okay...)
Sorry you are still getting blamed, Ducky... at their ages....
Diane - you don't know when you were born? Right.
I kind of want DD to have a credit card for some expenses - now hearing that you ladies have kids who have lost credit cards and knowing DD's propensity for losing things, I'm thinking twice... Can't these kids be responsible for anything?
(((((((TOL)))))))

I can't get approved for BRCA because even though two aunts, one on each side, died from BC, that is not close enough. As for PCOS - my friends daughter has it - major acne, weight issues, etc. Irregular periods can happen for exactly the reason you want to be by her side - an inability to take the meds properly. Good for you, mom.
-
PCOS seems to be the diagnosis of choice the past decade. SD claims to be diagnosed with it and she weighed 120 at 5'8" and no facial hair or acne. I have heard of dozens of women dxd with it.
I have been so far back I finally decided to skip some pages and try to stay caught up.
My mouth was watering when I was reading about the MahiMahi. I went deep sea fishing in Baja once and we caught one and took it back to the hotel and they prepared it for our dinner. The whole thing! It would have fed six people and two of us ate almost all of it. Mmmmmmmmmm it was good.
Hope everyone is doing well.

Chris. I am getting my son a checking account, linked to my account. Then he can have a debit card, with a PIN. I can transfer money into his account as needed.............well not as he needs, lol, when I think he needs some. I think this is a safe option for him when he goes to college. Apparently he cannot handle a credit card.
Diane, can you lie and tell them your mother or sister had breast cancer. Mine was approved and it was only me at the time.
-
Linda - can't believe I didn't think of that...except wouldn't they want some proof?
-
When I did the test, I had to fill out extensive paperwork on my family. lie!
-
I have a black board at home in the kitchen where I write inspirational quotes. This morning my oldest wrote this on it:
Sucking at something is the first step of sorta being good at something. -Jake the Dog.
Aren't boys cute?
-
Hello my friends....Just got home taking a break
Meece...i;m having the same fish again
Linda.....If he's gonna use a Debit Card...he can easily loose that too.....
I had my share of lost things
They still loose it time to time.....
hi Diane.....Tell them your grandmother had it and you don't have those records
It's time to get the laundry
Talk to you all later
hopefully next week will be quiter......

hi, checking in from work...can't wait until next week when my madness will be temporarily over...so much to do here and now a funeral upstate...my SIL's dad...I have to go...my brother's family. The last parent for all of them/us. Guess we're getting old now....
Mother's day was good to me...had DD#1 family sleep over...DD#2 came for the day.
I cleaned for umpteen hours and still ache; but it was worth it. Had to move hoards of stuff around to find the crib. We had buffet lunch out on the bay. I love watching the little ones run around and drive their parents crazy....it was good.
Back to work...oh...it's time for my hair appointment...time to leave work!
Last day of classes is Thursday. Down time coming....
Have a good day everyone,Joan

I understand that Sheila. But losing a credit card it worse. At least you need a PIN to access the debit card. Also, there will not be a lot of money in that account. I will transfer it when I know he needs some. Then he can use the debit card if he still has it, lol, or take out some cash ( which he will lose.)
Enjoy your downtime Joan!
-
Sorry Linda - not all places require a PIN - some now ask for zip code and at Starbucks, you don't need either because they can run it as credit which is optional in many locations.
-
Thanks Diane, but I asked my bank if he will need a PIN and they said YES!!! Now we only need a tracking device attached to it.
-
checking in, chemo tomorrow, hope all is well!!
-
Linda...what Diane said.... debit card can be used as a credit card nothing required
As a Debit he needs the pin number....just keep small amount in that account that linked to Debit Card...lalalalalalalalalalaaaa
Sandy..hugs♥
Joan..I know you're busy....hopefully you will have more free time soon
Sorry i still didn't answer your PM...Hugs

I swear it's true Linda - ask your bank if it is able to be used as credit. We can use all of ours that way and only found out by mistake when we were not asked to enter our PIN at Starbucks. She said "oh we just run them as credits".
-
Thanks for the info! I will be asking about that!!
Hope you do well tomorrow Sandy.
-
Check Linda...my daughter can do the same thing with her card.....seen her do it.......
-
Ugh! I will check it out!
-
I don't know in other States but in NY nobody asks for ID
You can use anybody's card....they don't even check your signature.......
-
Never get asked in Philly suburbs, and mine is not signed, but says on the back....."ASK FOR PHOTO I.D. Once in a blue moon someone might ask.......
-
Keep Dreaming and forget about the FROST...lalalalalalalla
Good Night TOL ♥

Oh Lord do I need that place.......CALGON TAKE ME AWAY
-
Thinking about you, Deb.
-
Sheila, you still up? I have to ask you something....and I love your pic.
Linda, there are two types of debit cards. One is strictly tied to the banking account and requires a pin. The other can be used either as debit with pin or credit without pin. The identifying factor is the logo added to the front of the card (Visa, MC) It sounds like your bank does have the plain debit card.

Hi All... Been lurking in this thread for a while, like the comraderie, but haven't had anything to contribute (or maybe I did many pages back, this goes so fast I can hardly keep up). Sheila, your pic prompted me to come out of hiding. Living in the heat of So Cal. Notice you're in Westchester, I spent my preteen years growing up in Rockland County. Probably need to think twice about complaining about the heat when so many others are dealing with the cold.
-
Welcome 2nd_time_around! You don't need to be able to contribute - these ladies let me be here and all I do is complain! These pages just seem to be going fast - you will notice half of each page is me going on and on about nothing...
oh - I have the debit/credit card for DD's acct which is attached to our acct for transferring money...have already gotten 2 letters letting me know that the account has been "overdrawn", but because we are good customers, they are waiving the fees... (I did already know it had gone negative because I had gone online to check - just not before it went negative) she doesn't pay attention to how much she is spending and how much is in the account... surprise! Trying to decide whether to sign up for the overdraft protection or whatever the other choice was... kinda hoping she will just magically become responsible... the trouble is that some of the "credit" transactions don't hit the acct right away - there is a "hold" put on the account and those transactions can take a few days to hit the acct - like gas stations or restaurants where they put through a "temporary" transaction first until they get the exact amount (like for restaurants - they put a hold when they process the amount of the bill and then if you add a tip - they put through that amount - or gas stations sometimes put a $1 hold on the account until they find out how much gas you actually buy...) So - the kids can go out and spend the rest of the money in the account before the account goes negative and if they aren't paying attention to how much money they have and how much they are spending(because they don't pay attention to anything - duh!), they can actually overspend.
