    Hi everyone

I will do a more proper post later but wanted to congratulate Jennie on the end of rads - you did it! :) Happy dancing for you, and a gentle hug

Maria - good to hear you are managing OK.

Alive - I'm glad that you have heard from the surgeon and that you have a date set. Now you can busy yourself getting prepared for surgery and after.

    Take care everyone

Jennie....doing the happy dance for you!!!!! Like you say, must be close to the same for Benny. You both have reason to celebrate, CONGRATS.

Maria...really glad to hear the se's haven't been too tough for you. Keep that trend going! How often are your tx's scheduled?

Alive...gosh, you sound stronger with each post. Defo...get whatever meds you need that might help you get some sleep, and stay a little less anxious. This waiting to start time is a temporary thing, do whatever you find helps you get through it.

Edi...I know how much you wish your son had a better life...bet he enjoyed the "quality mom" time even more than you did. So glad it worked out. Keeping fingers crossed for shedman. Don't let those "blues" linger too long...if you find you can't beat them back, get help. (and tell hubby to park it, when you need a nap!)

Dakota....likely another busy weekend for you. Enjoy the kids games, you're a super mom.

Websister....hope the back issue has had some sorting out?????

Movie...you're the best. Actually, I did see that commercial last night, but didn't really pay attention to it, as I usually tune out commercials. I'll watch for it again!!!!!

busy day today....4 km walk, 3 hour lunch with golf buddies (including glass of wine), made 2 loaves of bread with daughter, did some laundry, made supper, CRASHED! Out of energy.

    Love and hugs to all.

Jennie, YAYYYYYY!!!! Feels good, eh? It can only get better from here. Hopefully Benny is also doing okay.

Maria, so glad you have some sun there, and that you are coping well. This too shall pass - a good mantra during chemo treatment.

Movie, will look out for your DD. Have not watched much TV this week, but weekend will be different. DH working tomorrow, so I have the whole day to myself. My guess is that he is already making a list in his head of what I have to do outside in his absence - lol. Don't really mind as long as the weather stays warm.

Alive, it is obvious you have taken charge of your situation. We may have cancer, but cancer does NOT have us! Good for you on your wonderful attitude!

Edi, glad to hear shedman is doing okay, and that you had a good time with your boy. We all have those feelings of 'treatments are over - what now?' As you keep busy, become physically stronger, and do your normal everyday things, these feelings will gradually disappear. You have beaten the beast fair and square, Johnny Cash and all, and can look forward to many more years of enjoying the grandkids.

Websister, hope you have a good weekend, and that the back/rib pain won't be too bad. Sending healing vibes your way!

Nihahi, you were really busy today, but seems to have the energy for it. So encouraging/inspiring to me! Bread baking sounds lovely. I've already told DD that she has to bake me some sourdough bread when she comes to visit in two weeks' time. She keeps this starter thingy in her fridge - she has even given it a name (!!!???) and just adds some flour or whatever to it once a week to keep it 'alive'. She once brought me some in a jar with instructions on how to use it, but it quickly passed away under my care, unfortunately. Lol.

DH and I went out for dinner tonight. Sat outside, had a drink, so relaxing in the sunshine. Also had my hair cut today in anticipation of surgery. The pixie is very, very short now, and I look just like my brother, but I won't have to worry about hair for at least 6 weeks.

Good night everybody, sleep well and sweet dreams!

Quick word to Edi though.....met a beautiful young girl from Dublin yesterday...made me so homesick.....love a good Irish accent....almost as good as a Scottish one 😉

I hope you all have a great weekend.

    Hi Girls,

Just got back from yummy dinner with the whole family for Mother's Day. (well it's tomorrow but to get all the family together, easier tonight).....my DH is on call for work so couldn't come BUT, he did suprise me last night after he got back from work, with a  big big big huge bunch of gorgeous flowers all pretty in a box for mothers day from DS and him along with a 'sorry' note inside....hmmm takes a lot for my DH to say sorry so was quite suprised but never the less thankful!

DS and I are currently watching 'The Mask' thats on TV, you know the one with Jim Carey. First time DH is watching this and he is very interested, sitting on my lap, laughing and very 'into the movie' ..... he turns around while a tv add was on and says, Happy Mothers Day mummy' I said thanks gorgeous...he said what does that mean...I said well it means that all kids have to be extra extra good for their mummies because it is their special day...he said oh....I no be naughty, I said no not tomorrow especially. He looked and said ' ok mummy I no be naughty' mummy thinks, yeh right !!! lol

Congrats Maria, first one done and bet now all that anxiety has gone. It's always the fear of not knowing what to expect! Hope the SE's continue to be very minimal for you.

Alive, bring on the 28th May so you can get the information you need to kick this C in the butt.

Jennie, CONGRATS , rads done. You must be relieved :) Now time to heal.

Edi, you are a busy busy lady. 2 cakes completed, can't wait to see pics of another 2 of your gorgeous cakes. I want to taste one, can you meet me in the meadow, I promise I won't sleep..lol. Has the volunteer work started yet ?

Dakota, Saturday night almost for you.....better get those dancing shoes on and hit those night clubs....lol

Websister, hope your back is getting a little better.

Liefie / nihahi / Movie / Scottiee/caitlin , hope you girls have a great day. I'm going to finsih watching movie with DS then finally put him into bed.....xxx love to all

Traii.....Sounding more like your "old self" in your last post. You have a great family, love hearing how often you all get together. Whatever the reason hubby wrote a "sorry" note....hope it's a lesson learned for him. You should be treated like the princess you truly are. Your son sounds soooo cute, (but also a real handful!!!). Hope the "no naughty" promise lasts Laughing.

Liefie....the bread recipe is an easy-peasy one. Uses whole wheat flour, bread flour and red river cereal. We don't do white bread here anymore, and this one is just so simple to throw together and has no preservative junk in it. I was trying to teach daughter as she said she wanted to learn how to do it. Did she help....nooo, just watched. I decided to use the kneading time as arm exercise, so I wouldn't say something snarky to her!

Scottiee...always good to hear from you. I know you're a busy poster on another thread, but it's always good to know you keep us on your radar. Are you looking forward to the end of the school year....betcha are!! How is your son doing....anything ever come of all that worry and cardiac testing????

Maria...still doing ok?? Gosh, maybe you're gonna be another Dakota-type....chemo? what chemo?? "Get outa my way, I'm busy". Music....always got something playing...love music of all types except rap-stuff, hard "acid type" rock (they're just screaming, in my opinion), and free jazz (sounds like they're all on a different song).

Alive....hoping you have a busy, enjoyable, loving, "block it out of the mind for a moment" weekend. Get some sleep help....makes a world of diff.

Edi...is it Mother's Day in Britain this weekend too? What the heck is "the local nick"???? Whatever, it sounds like your orders are gonna skyrocket. Time for hubby to build you a pro-kitchen next!!!!!!!

Websister...you're always super busy, this weekend, I bet your family puts you on the pedastal you deserve and loves you up good!!!! Gosh, I hope you're doing better with the back pain.

Movie....what's up girl...tooth gets sorted out before your trip I hope. Glad to hear that at least it isn't painful. I didn't find Japanese food to have much hard, crunchy stuff, so your temp. cap should be ok. Still giggling about the communal bath thing. Maybe after enough saké, I could handle it with daughter and total strangers I would never see again, defo NOT WITH DAUGHTERS BOYFRIEND IN THE MIX!!!!!!!! I cannot wait to hear about your adventures there!!!!!

Time for that second cup of coffee...then gonna go for a walk before it gets too warm. Supposed to be hot and sunny today...I'll send some extra summer weather to who wants it!  ((((((x)))))) to all and to any I've missed.

Scottiee, second what Nihahi said. You are a mainstay on these boards, and we love you!

Traii, that little boy is just too adorable - I can just picture him making that promise of 'I no be naughty'! That's a huge commitment for such a small boy - lol. Your stories always remind me of when my two were little. Oh boy, the stuff they got into! Enjoy him, I know you do. Family dinner sounds lovely too. No chance of getting my family together tomorrow, but they will all be here next weekend except DD whose coming to visit after surgery. So looking forward to see them all.

Nihahi, your bread sounds like my kind of bread. I often wonder about the store-bought bread that keeps well for weeks on end - it's just not normal, and must have lots of added preservatives. Yikes!!!! Don't want to eat it anymore. What is red river cereal? I've been experimenting with different kinds of organic flour lately, from organic multigrain and emmer to spelt. Even for scones, cake or banana bread I will substitute up to half the flour with something more healthy. Gives a more nutty taste which is delicious. Will cut the sugar also if I think it's too much. Care to share the bread recipe? You had me at 'easy-peasy'. . . lol.

Movie, I'd probably be wearing a blindfold or act blind going into that hot spring . . . if I can't see them, they can't see me sort of thing - hahahaaa! Even so I'd have to be encouraged by a lot of sake like Nihahi. But the boyfriend is totally out, he certainly can't come, blindfold or not. You could take turns though - there's always a way to work it out!

It seems our warm weather streak is over for a while, but it was lovely while it lasted. Got my orders from DH for the garden before he left for his shift, so I'm off to do my watering duties. Don't want to get into trouble with the boss . . . lol! Was already in trouble because I had fed the dog some bones, and now he has an upset stomach. I always thought dogs were carnivores? Have a lovely day, everybody!

Hi peeps, slight sunshine here Smile cup final of football on tv so DH glued to set.
I would sooner stick pins in my eyes personally, want to emigrate he's  now moaning about fact heating is on my fault had it on for an hour while I cleaned upstairs as can't get warm since rads finished. Hands permanently cold, anyone know if it is normal. Thought I had switched it off but it was on timed instead. He has only been in about half an hour and hasn't stopped nit picking !! Beam me up Scottie lol
Shed man's wife is blazing ,the tv over his bed packed up yesterday and they won't fix it, he watches every match and was sooo lokking forward to today's. Here we have to pay for tv in wards with prepaid card he has spent a small fortune so far so not a happy bunny.
She said they gave him cup of tea, mash and chicken pureed and he brought it back Frown they have removed feeding tube as not enough room for that and the stent. Hopefully he can take something on board today. Seems this is normal after stent fitted hope they are right.

    Jennie, congrats cake for you.
Sure sisters will help demolish it.
After my shower inspected the muti coloured boob, looks like sun burn but all redness fading and loads of aqua cream really helps.xx

Maria, glad you not to bad, the upset tummy pretty yuk but body has to get rid of what they put in, usually over in a day or two and you can plan for next time. I used this time to have people come and see me here as near bathroom LOL.
Just rest and get energy levels up. (((HUG))) xx

Movie dear friend, hope you still ok. will try and get on that link could do with a laugh. xx

All other fellow nutters, check you  later. hope you are behaving ha ha xxxx

Edi, thanks for report on shedman. I so hope they can make a plan so he can watch TV. Poor soul, things are bad enough for him as they are! Did not have cold hands after rads, so don't have any advice for you there. In my house it's the other way round. I'm hot and he's cold. LOL. Thanks for the cake - it's delicious!

Nihahi, I have a sneaking suspicion somebody is on to me re TE's. LOL. Will have to keep my own 'snarkiness' in check. It is just the attitude that gets to me.

Hi everyone, it has been busy today.

Traii - great to hear from you, glad you got flowers and a sorry and a promise from your precious little one

Nihahi - you are sounding very good, the bread sounds wonderful. It is a beautiful day here, glad you got your walk in early; what did you see today?

Edi - your hemoglobin may be low from the rads and chemo combination and tht may be making you cold; keep an eye on it. Cake is beautiful!!!! So not fair re: shedman and TV and football finals, hope the stent works for him

Movie - I'm with Liefie, only blindfolded and no DD's boyfriend allowed

Liefie - hope the good weather returns quickly, sorry to hear about the dogs upset stomach. You can have your Mother's Day three weekends in a row :)

Maria - I was going to post to you last evening that the Neulasta shot can be sneaky and cause lots of achiness and pain overnight. Not sure if that was what you were feeling or if you had GI 'stuff' also. Sending hugs and hope you are better soon

Alive - you are sounding very good

Jennie - will you share some of that beautiful cake with us ;)

    Dakota - wishing a wonderful Mother's Day to a wonderful mother ((()))

Nihahi - back to you. I had the blood drawn and urine sent on Thursday afternoon before chemo. I heard nothing yesterday so I think I can rule out bladder/kidney infection. My oncologist's nurse is supposed to be booking the bone scan and getting back to me with the date/time. Until then I am doing what I can activity wise and to control the pain. I am not comfortable, sometimes to the point of tears and nausea. Combine that with post Herceptin aches and hormone imbalance and you get the picture :(

Family has been great and yes, I am being spoiled. I want so much to go out and work in the yard but I am resisting doing that. Yesterday an acquaintance from my son's hockey team several years ago and customer of my husbands dropped by with two beautiful hanging planters which are hung in the front of my house and making me smile.

    Take care everyone

Websister....I am so, so sorry to hear your current status. Wish there was something...advice, ice packs, SOMETHING I could do to help you. I'm certainly not liking your symptoms! I'm not gonna throw out suggestions of what's going on, cause I'm no doctor, I just want you safe and feeling better. I have no doubts your family will be taking good care of you. I guess I'm saying that healing vibes are on their way to you ((X))

Carla, Happy 50th to your DH, hope your celebrations went well for his birthday.

Well thought I'd just do a quick check in before DH comes back from work...he's been out all day, managed to come home for a bite to eat, then phone rings....he was back out at work.

Raining here tonight....nice to be inside with the heater on, DS asleep and me watching TV and hearing the rain. :)

Happy Morher's Day to all you beautiful moms.

Websister....so sorry you are going through this. I've had back pain ever since my lumpectomy and I don't think Letrozole helps either. I think my back started to weaken

after the birth of my two boys...they were big babes and I was an older mom. Chrissyb

suggested upping my D3 and Mg and that plus regular massages are helping a lot.

I'm also plagued with nausea which is cyclical so I have to take a gravol suppository

in order for me to eat. I don't know if any of this info helps, but just to let you know you are not alone.....❤

Happy Mother's Day to all, (including Edi, who is cybermom, so gets to celebrate it world wide whenever!).

So good to hear from everyone, what an amazing bunch of women we are, eh!

Websister.....((((X))))) I just can't stop thinking about you and wishing for better days soon for you. Hope you're feeling a wee bit better today. I know you have lots of incredible support around you, but you know I'm "in the area" so if I can help in ANY way....please ask. I'd do anything for you.

Movie....you'd better be either knee deep in aromatic oils, on a shopping spree pre-Japan, or zoned out in the meadow....cause you have been AWOL, and I miss you. Hope all is well????? Haven't seen the commercial come on again, but with this glorious weather around here, haven't had the tv on much either.

Going out soon for Mother's Day breakfast with hubby and daughter (if she ever comes out of her room)! Son rarely acknowledges me, so don't expect to be hearing from or seeing him. Honestly, I'd rather just sit in my jammies with a cup of coffee, as post surgery, I've gotten used to eating so much less than I used to. But, it's a past tradition, and makes them feel like they're doing something special for me, so like most mothers, I go along with what makes the family happy. Anyway....I digress.....Love to all...enjoy the day!!!!

Bellies-not AWOL , not shopping, not knee- deep in essential oils (though I wish I was)not in meadow either..... Just busy with my mother, who, as I have most likely whined about before, lives with my DH and myself. She's 96, bless her heart, but is not able to care for herself. She is mobile, but suffers from old-age related Alzheimer's. The past several years have been very difficult to experience, as she has slowly lost her memory, and much of her ability to communicate. She remains very sweet, and never is angry, (I am the one that loses control sometimes) but it is like having a very large toddler to care for. On the DIEP thread one of the women wanted us to participate in a survey her daughter was taking so she could write about stress and breast cancer......I could write a book..... I have been trying to change my attitude and my approach to her, so have spent the weekend taking care of some things to help make her life (AND mine) easier. Ironic that it was Mother's Day here.....I didn't plan it that way.

To be honest, I just skimmed the previous posts, so I apologize if I seem ignorant of when Britain, Canada, and Australia celebrate Mother's Day....but since it's our day here in the States, I will just say you are the greatest group of mothers I know....Mother's Day or no......you are awesome women! I hate the circumstance that brought us together, but am grateful for the opportunity to know you all.

Anyways, want to wish you all a happy "mother's day" and hope you all got at least a few moments to yourselves to enjoy it!

Will catch up tomorrow. ((((Hugs)))) to all!

Namaste and God bless - Jackie

Hi gorgeous girls, not a bad day here across the pond. cool but dry.
Fell GOOD almost normal ( that for me is nutty as a fruit salad ) one of my dear Mom's sayings lol.
Sleeping longer at last, chilled out most of yesterday then climbed up into loft. Had a lovely sort through bags and boxes found huge bag of old toys and in there is a Tree House one of ED's favourite's it is a small green tree which when you touch the top pops up and inside is a little house. Will clean it up and give to GD.
Also massive bag of teddy bears, used to have them in a bedroom in old house so will sort out them too.
Sad that we put stuff away and forget it when someone could have joy from it.

Nihahi, I think you should all put Dakota in the running for President. She would kick some ass there and be so lovely to everyone else, also would sort out chilcare for working Mom's plus destroying the cockroach population.
Hope you are still up and running. Inspirational to other Dieppe ladies.xx

Movie, goodness you have such a lot to do and looking afetr Mom too. My Mum went a bit forgetful and that was bad enough. Dad couldn't and wouldn't cope so she was put into a home.
When his mistress died suddenly, he then wanted her home, she told him where to go lol.
Try and have some time to yourself today xx

Liefie, thinking of you and sending out happy vibes. xx

DH going to work soon yay so have to dash and iron his shirt, catch up later xx

Dakota, that's gorgeous, your DD putting that on her card that you're her hero. Thats my son's latest saying ' mummy you're my hero', only because Fireman Sam says that....lol.

Movie, I didn't realise you cared for your mother also. Would be hard work for you. You are her hero. Glad you had a good mothers day.

Edi, bet your GD will love ED's old tree house. I have an old bag of stuffed toys here too. I still have my little lamb that my dad brought for me to the hospital when I was born and a big orange teddy bear that my grandparents brought for me when I was born. I will NEVER part with them. they are too precious.

Well phoned my BC nurse today. Still no date yet. She said that she'd been speaking with my PS on Friday to schedule a date however when she checked, no date scheduled yet, but she did say it may be pushed out to June....yeh me! I finished work in April so I could have some time to spend with DS and DH going away on our trip and all, and now I feel like I should be back at work because it's only going to delay me going back to work .... arghhh what to do!

My liver test results were 'yet to be written up and reported' so still waiting on that to. Hoping to get information on that tomorrow.

hope you are all having a great Monday. 10:30pm here, should be in bed but what's another hour....
