Dakota....you are too funny. Sweetie there is SO FOR SURE the "right one" out there for you and you WILL find him! He is gonna have to be one very spectacular guy, to be approved by us for you!!!!!! Have you heard of SOMA sleepwear? They are not in Canada, but I know they are in the states. My sister swears by their stuff...supposedly they have a line of sleepwear that is not only to die for comfie, but somehow works with the hot flash fun.
Liefie....I was watching Iron Chef too! I eventually got some sleep, but not much. You???
Alive...((((((x)))))).
Maria.....Pockets getting heavy yet???? We're thinking of you!
Traii...........what can I say, I'm concerned!!!!!!!!!
-
Gorgeous girls I was sleeping in that meadow and no one woke me up...arghhh feel refreshed now.!
Wow missed a lot.
Movie, not the tooth, yuck pain. hope you get that root you need (root canal) of course! (woke up a little cheeky I think) lol
Dakota, get that flirt thing going, low cut tops now with your perky ones to peep out ... lol.....85 girl, come on, we need you a little toy boy.....21 maybe......lol
Edi, cyber baby here, yes been a little lost lately. Not just the BC thing....you know, getting over that, waiting patiently for surgery date, but DH just getting on my nerves!! Had Liver MRI today for the liver lesions I've had for a few years. Don't get results until 22nd May however the last set of tests I did when DX with BC they shrunk or disappeared , so hoping they are just now GONE completely !! Think I'll just call the doctor on Monday for results, stuff waiting for 22nd!! Hows shedman going ? is he home resting? hope rain clears so you can put that bucket and spade into good use. DS's got a good work out summer time. Gorgeous weather here 25 degrees and sunny.

Nihahi, so good to hear you are back to normal, (then again define normal now a days) lol.
Liefie, I love iron chef. I think we have the asian one here shown but they speak american...lol.....its on late at night on a Saturday i think.....boy do they know how to cook! Now we know where you get all your ideas from hey! So happy re blood work...good news.
Maria, in your pockets girl...you got this
Alive, hope you doing ok ?
love to all you girls and the ones I havent mentioned. must head off to try to sleep, hit midnight here now and early wake up again for DS to get to kindy, then off for some motherss day shopping for mum. Might buy her new mobile, she dropped hers in the loo (toilet) and she wasn't even on it, off to get her pjs on and boom, straight in the loo, she's somewhat devestated....lol just like mine the other day, smashed....great so now looking for a new mobile...so lost without my smart phone......lol !!!!
Night night xox
-
HOORAY......TRAII'S BACK!!!!!
shhhh, don't want to wake her up, but SO GLAD to read the post. Crap, that more worries have been playing with your mind. Yep, I'd call for results too! Everything I've got, is crossed for good luck for you. Cell phone tragedies...sorry, kinda funny! ANYWAY, sleep well. We missed you. fyi....normal is rarely descriptive of me~!
-
Good Morning Nihahi darling, oh you are so cute just checked your time because I thought, WTH, she sleep or what....lol .....
you know I was just playin in the meadow, then I fell asleep !
Trust you to laugh at our 'cell' phone tragedies, it's NOT funny......I cried..............like a baby..............it was the only thing that kept me sane...(well many would beg to differ about my sanity) lol......
Enjoy your day....xx
-
Traii! So glad to 'hear' your voice, my girl! I hope those liver lesions are OBLITERATED, GONE, WIPED OUT!!! Yes, love the Iron Chef. Those people sure know their way around kitchen, eh? Do phone the doc's office. Why can't you get the results when they come out, and have to wait till May 22 when you can set your mind at ease earlier? Sweet dreams! A fan running at low speed works wonders for my night sweats. DH covers up because it's too cool for him, and I can sleep too.
Nihahi, slept till 6.40, not too bad. Zakarian and Guernascelli are my two favourite chefs, and just could not resist watching them battle each other. Can't believe the food they come up with in an hour's time, just amazing.
Dakota, you should set your sights a little lower - 85 and 70 just won't work. Don't waste your charms there - lol. Maybe try for healthy guys, not patients . . . this is funny!
Off to yoga class, and some cardio afterwards. This afternoon we have a 'Walk with your doc' event at our stadium. One of our docs started it a few years ago to raise more awareness re the importance of exercise. Every doc in town takes part with his/her patients who are interested, and every year it grows exponentially. Will go do a few miles there tonight; should be fun, and social too.
-
Good morning, lovely ladies!
Dakota - you are too funny! I agree that you should probably go to a much lower age range and he will need to be very special
Edi - sending hugs. I do understand and I did do a post on my blog called 'Picking up the Pieces' that speaks to what it is like post treatment. There is a book by the same name that our Breast Cancer Supportive Care Foundation uses with it's patients.
Nihahi - hope you finally got some sleep and that the feeling when you turned over was nothing. I glad putting the abdominal binder on helped.
Liefie - you sound so good these days! Congrats on the bloodwork. The cupcakes were lovely, no icing needed
. I didn't have the heart to wake up Traii after she fell asleep.
Traii - so much playing on your mind. I also had liver and spleen lesions and wonder. I'm glad that you are going to call sooner than the 22nd, that is much to long to wait for results.
Alive - with you waiting
Maria - in your pockets with those other rowdy gals
Re: back pain - one of the reasons that I have put it off is I don't want to be running to the dr with every ache and pain now. I also didn't feel heard last time I was in or when I had my appt at BCSCF on Monday. I have been having discomfort in my right upper abdominal area since before radiation. I told the oncology fellow that saw me at my last appointment and he just brushed it off and said if it was still there in two weeks to let them know. Since then it has remained as a burning pain but then the lower back pain has eclipsed it. At the BCSCF appt the doctor asked me how I had been since last appt. I mentioned the back pain and said I supposed that I should get it checked out. No response. Then she asked me whether I was continuing with my exercise and I said 'as the back pain allows' - again no response. I didn't expect her to do anything about it but an acknowledgement that I should get it checked out would have been appreciated.
Yesterday afternoon in the meadow I used ice and took a Tylenol 3, that gave me 30 minutes of complete relief but then back again. Worse this a.m. so I have placed a call to my oncologist's nurse and I am waiting for her to call back.
Sending love and hugs to everyone -
Movie - I neglected to comment on your molar. How awful for you! I remember getting ready for a trip when I was in my twenties and I was cleaning out an old purse I decided I wanted to take. There was an old, dried up piece of gum in the purse - I impulsively decided to pop it in my mouth and the next thing I knew I had broken my tooth. Went on the trip anyway and got it fixed afterwards but definitely not fun.
Update re: back pain - the nurse called me back and said she had spoken to the oncologist - in the nurses words - 'while she doubts it is anything sinister she is going to work you up. When you come in for your Herceptin today they will do a urinalysis and bloodwork and she is booking you for a bone scan, we will call you with the appointment date and time'.
So, I do feel 'heard' now and it takes away some of the worry as I know that I have set things in motion for investigation.
Have a good day everyone -
Awwww, Websister, the pain is not letting up, eh? Don't like to hear one of our sisters is suffering. The complaint coming from you, I know it is valid. So glad you insisted, and that it is now going to be checked out. Don't always understand the docs. You would expect that onc to immediately suggest testing if a patient like you with a solid medical background voices these concerns, but no? Tylenol 3 should be a clue, right? That's not cool at all. ((((Big Hugs!)))) We can go to the meadow any time again . . . will leave Traii in peace to sleep, she needs it.
Maria, in your pockets, hope you are doing well.
Alive, what can I say? We are here for you, whatever the outcome.
Another beautiful day here, trying to be outside as much as possible, because towards the weekend it will rain again. We have two massive water bombing planes, the Mars water bombers, stationed on the lake here. They are used to fight forest fires. One of them has been practising for the last hour to take on water, take off, and let the water out. It is a thundering noise all around, but quite the show. They've been a fixture here for over 40 years, are being maintained immaculately, and updated with the latest technology. We are all so proud of 'our' planes.
-
Phew, busy day for me, did my longest walk yet (7km), met some friends for lunch, and just got in from driving daughter into the city for one of her weekly appointments. Naptime coming up, but wanted to check in here first.
Websister....like Liefie said....I'm stunned that your comments/concerns were "blown off" by your people. They certainly know you to be a trooper, non-complainer, and medically "astute". How could they give your valid concerns a brushoff??? So glad you advocated strongly for yourself. I hear ya, you can't turn every "twinge" into a catastrophic scenario, but that is SO not you!
OMG..we were all watching the same Iron Chef episode....potato chips as the secret ingredient....really?????? Bet our Liefie would have rolled some mooseballs in them, like a panko crust!
Maria...pocket party done for this time...sorry about the spilt coffee....Edi made me laugh just as I was passing the cream and sugar! Hoping for minimal se's....one chemo done, one closer to the end!!!!!
Alive...we're here for you............(((((((((((((x))))))))))))))))))
Traii...sleep, hmmm, foreign concept around here, but you should know the feeling! Hope the phone shopping was successful....how the heck did you destroy yours???
Movie...tooth all better??? I must tell you, I was quite bummed to hear your experiment with a backpack resulted in a bruised booby. Was it from the chest strap or the shoulder (through the axilla) strap? My summer pack has a full hip belt, cause I like to carry the weight on my hips instead of hanging off my shoulders, but I'm wondering what that pressure/friction might feel like? I see my surgeon next week and was hoping to get the ok to start doing more and wearing a backpack is part of "more" for me...how far now are you post surgery???
Dakota...seriously.....senior citizens!!!!! Get yourself a "hot" soccer/lacrosse/hockey/baseball guy!!!!!!
Some of the Diep ladies are sharing the music they like to listen to, and although my list varies from day to day, I thought I'd list of few of mine here too. One especially, I'm thinking is for you at this time Edi....! It's a pretty eclectic list, but remember, I'm an old, abnormal lady!
Aad Guray by Deva Premal (to calm the mind, feel peaceful)
Stand Back Up by Sugarland (for courage)
I Run For Life by Melissa Etheridge (to get going)
I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz (for all my bc sisters)
Rocky Mountain High by John Denver (need I say anymore!)
Living In The Moment by Jason Mraz (to remind me to "look forward" and get on with life) This seems to be Liefie's mantra....thought it would be a good one for Edi, and anyone having those "dark thoughts" of what if.....!
No new wildflowers to add the the meadow today, but while walking, saw 6 deer, 2 coyotes, 3 red-tailed hawks.
Naptime soon, love to you all.
-
Bellies....beautiful day here in Lake Oswego, Oregon......75+ degrees, sun is shining, not a cloud in the sky!
Nihahi-you are so trying to out-hike me!!!!(How dare you?!?
) 7 km! That is awesome! Meet me in Hokkaido and we can both run from their hungry brown bears! The backpack pain was not from chest strap, it was shoulder/axillary strap....I rest my pack weight on my hips, as well.......my foob wasn't having any of it....worried I may have to resort to a waist pack and forgo Glacier, if it doesn't ease up......it was the incision line that didn't like it. (Lefty....Righty didn't seem to mind)Getting new crown (temp) installed later today......fun times....think I would rather do DIEP again than face a dentist!
Traii-will tell you story to make you feel "good" that phone dropped into toilet......DD#3 (Japan girl) was camping in the woods of Montana....went to the outhouse....sat down, heard a plop far below, and phone was gone....I asked her why she didn't try to retrieve it.....glad you posted-we were getting worried! Keep us posted re: scans, okay?
Maria? hope all went well, with minimal SEs-thinking of you, and leaving Nihahi to clean up the spilled coffee!
Dakota! Seriously? You are so pretty, be a cougar....you should go YOUNGER!!!!! You had me laughing over your senior citizen flirtation.....dont worry-it will happen when you arent looking for it....it always does!
Websister-I am still sending positive vibes your way.....hopefully sore back is nothing-just sore back!
Glad you didn't let up on them! Had to laugh at you putting old, hard chewing gum into your mouth! I promise I did not do that!Liefie-your lake sounds like a little slice of heaven.......lovely!wish you could post pics......would love to see those bombers in action-what fun!
Edi- how did cakes turn out? Pictures, please! You need to visit over here on the West Coast...Lieifie and I are enjoying beautiful sun-no rain until the weekend......Love you!
Alive-hope you are doing well-thinking of you. Just know we have all been in your shoes, and somehow we've muddled through it-and you will too! We're here for you!
Carla, Catilin, Jenny, Scottie, Benny et. al., hope all are doing okay-
Namaste and God bless - Jackie

Hello all you lovely gals,
Well I made it through #1. It was not bad at all this round takes the least time so we were only there a couple of hours. Everyone is so nice which felt good. I have a not so nice head ache tonight, a little heartburn and tummy just a tad upset could definately be worse. The fact that I'm really going to lose my hair hit me today I thought was mentally ready guess not.
Thanks you all for being there today I felt your spirts and the coffee was the bomb. I go back tomorrow for my Nuestra shot I have my claritin ready to go.
Websis- glad you are getting answers for your back pains hope you get relief soon.
Liefie- would you mind sending some sun here it's been raining for two days.
Traii- glad your well sorry DH is getting on your nerves they have a way of doing that at times. I just try to take a deep breath and remember his good parts.
Alive hope your week is off to a pleasent start lets us know how you are.
Edi would love to see the cakes I wish I had that talent it's so cool.
Movie- send sun with Liefie please need some blue skies.
Dakota- older is not a bad thing but then again younger has it's perks as well lol.
Nihahi- Great music selection, I listen to Jason Maraz (I wont give up) and Melissa Ethridge (various songs) every night. I had asked Edi if she had heard of The dunwells you should check them out They have a song I could be king that is so moving to me.
All of you other wonderful ladies I hope you are all well and have a great week.

Hello lovely ladies!
WELL.... FINALLY talked with the Dr.!!! Have a tad bit more information. Left is DCIS, and Rt is IDC. Although no stage or grade given until after surgery; which I now know will be Tues. May 28th at 9:30am! Sheesh.. it's getting more real now.
They will do the lymphnode chk on both sides, and then onto a BMX!This was not an easy decision, as I was told I could probably save my left. BUT w/the fact that they found another tumor after my MRI (in my RT, and also invasive), and the Dr saying that because we have three separate areas of this b***h, then just having it 'gone'... ALL gone is my ideal. And I am in total agreement.
*(Quick (?)... did anyone have like, shooting pains, or stinging like areas in the biopsied areas almost 2wks after the biopsies were done?? Should this concern me? Worries me to think they have 'disturbed' the beast and it is 'doing' something it shouldn't be...eeek)*
I am just glad to have 'some' kind of idea about what I'm facing, and when, ya know? Still, this sucks!!! A dear old friend of 40+yrs came by today. Haven't seen her in a while, and it was nice to be able to vent and sip coffee.
Maria- thinking of you and hope you are ok after today! We were all with you! (((hugs)))
ALL you wonderful ladies, TY So much for your ongoing supportive words! You all mean so much to me already! You just don't know...
how much! Tearing up here... God bless each of you!!!Will post more later to each! Much Love and (((Big-Hugs))) to Each and EveryOne of you! xxxx
-
Maria....So your fight has started and you have definitely won the first round! Hope you have a gentle night, and get some rest. I bet today sucked up a lot of energy!
Alive....so glad you had time with a good friend today, and were able to vent it out with her. Information and decisions at this point are so "huge", but I will tell you....I would have made the same decision as you have. Get it out, get it ALL out, then go on from there. Tough, tough choice, but you have definitely stacked the odds in your favor!
Love going out to you both.
-
Maria, just wanted to say a quick hello and congratulations for getting through the first round. Wanted to mention, since you say you're having some heartburn, that I ended up having a lot of heartburn on Round 1 of AC. From Round 2 on, my MO recommended that I take Prilosec daily and it helped a lot. May not apply to you, but something to keep in mind if the heartburn gets worse. On Taxol, I've had different burning sensations that I think might be ulcer related - mentioned to MO, but he didn't seem concerned. Anyway, I now sometimes take Zantac in the evening, after Prilosec in the morning.
-
Alive, it must feel better to know what you're dealing with, right? The uncertainty of waiting for answers is much worse. Now plans can be made, and treatments can get under way so you can beat this beast. May 28 is just one week after my DIEP surgery, so we will be recovering together! Seems your drs are moving quickly - very good. Losing our breasts is traumatic, but dying of ca is worse . . . no choice there! Did not have the stinging sensations you describe after my biopsy, but it is most likely just the healing going on, and nothing serious. Yes, IT SUCKS big time. But the only way around it, is right through it. So you are now a warrior, you will fight with every weapon in your arsenal, and you will prevail. It's a temporary roadblock, that's all. Big hugs to you, and I hope you can relax a little now that things are under control.
Maria, so happy it went well today! Will try to send that sun over to Denver - lol. Which chemo drugs are you getting, and how many cycles? Hope the SE's won't be too severe.
Movie, next weekend my kids are here. They are going to help me post some pictures, and teach me how to do it. Hope the tooth is fixed, and you managed not to run away from the dentist - lol.
Nihahi, mini-mooseballs in a crust of potato chips, then deepfried to golden perfection - I may just try it!
Hi Caitlin! Hope you are well. See Maria, she's already giving you good advice!
Also did my part exercising today. Walked about 4 miles, and a yoga class. I'm tired after the late chatting fest on here last night. So into the shower, into bed with my book, and off to sleep. Good night everybody. I love you all.
-
Caitlin....good to hear from you...I'm sure Maria appreciates your kind words of advice. Knowing that someone else "gets" it, makes the tough stuff just a tiny bit easier.
Movie....hope the new tooth feels good. Stay away from the tortilla chips!
Websister...another herceptin behind you...hope the tests figure out what's going on with your back, so they can get it sorted out for you.
Traii...even if you haven't gotten your "date" yet, in reality, you're now another day closer, you just don't know when that day is.
Edi...your're probably just getting up....hope you can find the Living in the Moment song and give it a good listen. The words say it all!
I'm off to bed....hoping for a better sleep tonight.
-
Bellies.....no luck on tooth......seems I broke a porcelain crown (what kind of dentist puts a porcelain crown on a back molar???????-a crappy one, that's the kind!). "Crown"is only partially broken, and as I have the type of dental care you could have found in post-war USSR........my dentist not in today, sub says have to have my dentist (out for a WEEK) look at it next Thursday (s**t) as to whether or not she wants to start new crown process before or AFTER Japan......since I have already killed this tooth with a root canal, not in any pain......almost used to big hole where crown used to be whole and intact......temp. Crown not glued down like "permanent" one is(at least what's left of it) so could actually be worse. All I know is that I am getting a GOLD crown this time......those last longer than 9 years!
Maria-glad things went well for you.....I was lucky to escape chemo (this time around) but plenty of the ladies here have rocked the no hair look, and the pics I've seen show me beautiful, courageous, and strong women......women I am proud to "know"-if just in the cyber-world......
Alive.....didn't want to say anything until you had decided what to do, but I was diagnosed on one side only, with mammos AND an MRI showing nothing on the other......I chose a BMX anyway, b/c I didn't want to always be waiting for other shoe to drop.....they found it (DCIS and LCIS) in the "good" boob in the post-op pathology report. I have never once regretted my decision......I even bought a tee shirt that says "Hell yes they're fake....my real ones tried to kill me!" Once your plan of action is In place, you will start to feel peace, and then you can fight this bitch with everything you've got.....I know you will, because all of us have been where you are! We will be here for you during treatment, surgery, and beyond. Cancer changes how you see the world, but it doesn't have to define who you are-remember that!
Websister, thinking of you.....
Traii-listen to Nihahi-she's right.....you are another day closer.....XO
Dakota, hope you are feeling some sense of peace.....re: the cockroach.....
Liefie, you and Nihahi putting me to shame re:exercise....I had better get off my lazy butt and get back on that horse! My DIEP sisters!
Caitlin....nice to hear your "voice" on here-you always add something valuable to conversation!
Edi......I am desperate for a bite of cake! Where's my slice?? Hope you are having a wonderful day.....is it still rainy? I will send some sunshine VIA Denver and Maria so you and darling GD can bask In the warmth, okay? Happy cake decorating ! XO
To all....goodnight!
Namaste and God bless - Jackie -
Hi my beautiful sisters !!!!
Thanks for the advice.... Just getting ready to work my game think I will go younger !!!
Movie -
Sorry to hear about the tooth glad no pain !!!
Mari - 1 down good for u hope u slept we all have been there with the steroids ! N
Alive - I think I mentioned it but I did BMX also so glad I did !!!
Caitlin - hi girlfriend !!!!
Nihahi and liefie - hope u girls slept !!!'
Traii and edi u cyber sisters hope u had a great day !!!
Gotta run patients is here. Gotta practice .... Lol -
Movie...what the h**l did you mean by "this time around"!!!! Don't go there girl, too many trails to hike!!!
-
Morning sisters!
Where is Edi? I miss her.
Hearing you guys talk about BMX, and finding ca on the 'healthy' side, I'm now almost sorry that I'm not having the other boob off during DIEP when I have the chance. Ca is so sneaky . . . I've had two mammograms of the healthy breast in the past year, and got the all clear each time, but mammo's don't always detect ca. Oh well, have to stop second-guessing, and have faith/trust in my decision.
Movie, don't be too hard on yourself re exercise. You've had a cold, and it's never a good idea to exercise then. Much smarter to wait for the cold to pass. Congrats on the gold crown. Have a few of those myself, and although it's not cheap, they last. Fortunately the price of gold is down a little these days - lol!
Nihahi, how did you sleep last night? I had a better night, thanks, Dakota! We will all watch your progress in the 'guy' department - he'd better not bear any resemblance to any insect, or we will come and squash him! LOL.
Okay, have to run. DH gave me garden 'work' again, so better get started. Have a good day, everyone!
-
Hello Sisters! (((x)))
Slept, ok...but I'm thinking I need to call the Dr. and find out about something to help me go to sleep at night; as it seems like that is when the lights go on in my mind. Also, maybe for nerves. I mean, who is w/o stress here? lol
movie, just have to admit, I was a Dental Asst. for over 12yrs. The porcelain crown is/was the norm, for aesthetic reasons mainly, but opting for gold is going to serve you better, I think too! Temp crns can be a bugger, but it's better than nothing, truly. And the gold should serve you for 'well' beyond 9yrs!
(((x)))Dakota, glad to see you in higher spirits! Keep pushin' on girl!(((x)))
Edi??? We are all anxious for cake! lol Hope you are having a great day hon! (((x))) Waiting!!!
nihahi, hope you slept well!
I'm a napper, and if I can, I'll sneak one in every other day. Helps me... ALOT! So glad you are here everyday to urge us on! TY!! (((x)))Maria, how are you faring today? (((hugs))) Let us know! Thinking of you girl! Sun shining there yet?
liefie, I guess we 'will' be recovering together then, huh? Cool! We can do this!
Going to start my list of goodies for this ahead of time... comfy pj's, sweets, hot coffee, um... did I mention sweets yet? heehee Indeed, try not second guessing yourself! Ha! I'm one to talk...but you should be comfortable and have peace of mind; don't go there! (((x)))Traii, sorry about the phone thing. Bless your heart! I know it sucked, big time! Meadows are a great spot after days such as that! (((hugs))) to you sweety!
websister, so nice to see more posts from you! xx glad you are being 'heard' and this train is finally moving out of the station. The 'pain-train' is one that can just keep on going down, waaay down the line, no stops please!
xxcaitlin, hope you are doing ok! Don't hear too much from you! How's the fingers? xx and hugs!

scottiee, thoughts and prayers to you! ((xx))
Anyone I missed, hope you are enjoying a meadow somewhere! My Iris's are blooming! My hummers are in, so it's gonna be alright! Big hugs to all you lovely ladies! ((xxxx))

Alive, glad you made your decision, sounds like the safest and best for you. My BC buddy had both removed even though only one had bc. She said the other day it is the best decision of her life as she dreaded getting over one lot of bc and then it deciding to appear in other boob.xx

Hello beautiful gals,
Day two is going pretty well, went and got my immune shot nothing to it. Feeling very tired today and tummy a bit upset nothing to major.
Caitlin- thank you for the info very helpful
Liefie- thank you for the sun it is much better here today and suppose to be 76 for Mothers day on Sunday. My sister is having brunch so hopefully I will feel up to it.
Alive- I'm glad you are getting to that point of answers. You know what is right for you follow what feels right for you. I did have some strange feelings after my biopsy not really painful it was like something was tugging at me from inside.
Edi- glad you got one on one time with you son sounds delightful and the concert sounds like it was good as well I like the Eagles music alot. Guess you all can tell I'm kind of a music nut, not much I don't like.
Movie - I with Nahihi no chemo for you ever.
To everyone else I hope you have a wonderful and blessed weekend.
