Well CRAP, Alive....what the h**L????? You are right, you don't need this now, but sadly, that usually is out of our control. It does sound like tooth or sinus related. Between you and Websister.....ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!!!

Maria...sounds like you did just fine at the family gathering. Hope the nap (good choice, fyi), didn't make it hard to get to sleep.

Just finished a 7k walk....encounters today that I have sent to the "meadow" were: deer, downey woodpeckers, red-breasted nuthatch, and a fly-over by a Great Blue Heron.

Daughter is actually out of bed, and doing her laundry!!!!! Might take a quick drive to check out a hiking trail (just want to see how dry it is, and what flowers might be starting to show). Won't actually be hiking it yet.

Traii...if your onco nurse was expecting to get a date last Friday, maybe you'll actually hear this week. Got my fingers crossed for you.

Movie....you have so much on your plate, you are amazing. Hope your efforts to improve things work out for both Mom AND you!!!! Soon you'll be on your way to Japan....uber exciting!!!!!!

Edi...sounds like things are finding a better "normal" for you. That's great.....enjoy your day while hubby is working.

Websister.....things any better????? Scan booked yet???? (((((((((((X)))))))))))))

Liefie....you're getting there, girl......not long now.

Dakota.....any hot prospects on the patient list today??? (you are too funny).

Gotta get busy. Love to all.

    Good day sisters!

Just came home from the gym where my trainer/friend, fresh and tanned from her week long holiday in Cuba, made me do everything she could fit into an hour. Now home on the couch with lunch and laptop - phew, so glad to be able to catch my breath. DH had a big blow-up over absolute nonsense this morning. He left for work without saying good bye while I stewed with my hurt feelings behind a closed door in the bedroom. He phoned just now, making small talk, but we'll need to address this tonight . . . it will take at least a bunch of flowers or a chocolate. LOL.

Maria, glad you had such a good time with your family. They are the best. Napping is good!

Alive, sorry to hear about this face swelling. Hopefully it's nothing serious, but you certainly don't need it right now, eh?

Dakota, get away from that patient list. He is not there, okay? You don't want somebody with health issues right out the gate, no, you want a strapping, healthy young fellow, preferably somebody with a background in insect poison . . . LOL!!!

Traii, awwwww! I hope you get the results of the liver tests soon, and a date for surgery this week. You've been strung along enough now, time for action!!!

Websister, same to you as far as a date for the bone scan. Hope you can manage the pain. Hugs to you!

Edi, hope you had a lovely day of peace. It is better that I say no more about this topic today, because it won't be pretty at all. LOL.

Nihahi, planned to walk today, but it is raining cats and dogs here. So will see if weather is better tomorrow. You are an inspiration - glad you saw some beautiful birds! Your bread and those brownies are on the menu for the weekend. Will let you know how it turns out. Boys are coming Friday night, so excited. Better get organized, and go do some grocery shopping. This morning I also made a list of what to pack for the hospital - I'm taking just the bare essentials.

Movie, I have seen the struggle to care for an Alzheimer patient firsthand. My mom took care of my dad for a long time. It wore her down to the point where we as the children made the decision to place him in a care facility, because she just could not cope anymore. She weighed less than 100 lbs at that stage, and we realized that we were going to lose her as well if we did not step in. It is very hard, especially mentally, and you are certainly amazing to be taking care of your mom. Best wishes to you and to her!

Alive - so sorry to hear about the pain and swelling in your face, h ope the reason has been identified quickly and that you are on the path to feeling better now. Good for DH for making you go

Traii - you continue to be in my thoughts. Hope you get results and date in the next couple of days

Movie - you are such a good daughter. We had Mom here yesterday and she is getting worse. She was worried that we were leaving our youngest at home alone while we took her back to the lodge (he is 18). Then she asked if we thought she should get a car and start driving again. No!!!!!! Lots of signs that this past couple of years have taken a toll on her mind as well as her body. Hope things are going better re: your molar

Dakota - hope you're enjoying your 'best mom' award, so sweet that you are also their hero. He's out there but maybe one thing at a time

Edi - your GD will enjoy that playhouse so much. I've been trying to go through some things also, so interesting to rediscover things long forgotten.

Liefie - you sound so organized for your surgery. Hope you heard from your children yesterday, you'll be seeing the boys very soon. I think you should get both chocolate and flowers from DH - don't settle for less ;)

Maria - I remember the chemo fatigue, it can hit so suddenly. Glad you were able to get out and also that you napped when you needed to

Carlads - looks like you had a wonderful 50th birthday celebration for your DH, hope you were spoiled yesterday and that you are dealing OK with the post treatment blues

Scottie - thanks for sharing re: your experience with back pain and nausea. It does help. I am already taking D3 4,000 i.u. daily and Calcium/Magnesium supplements every night. the back pain is new for me since about 3 weeks ago. I was experiencing stiffness of my joints from the tamoxifen but after my last MO appointment I was given permission to start glucosamine, it wasn't instant but since then the stiffness of my joints is all but gone so I am very happy on that front, now just need to get ride of this other pain. I hope Toronto wins their hockey game tonight.

Nihahi - thanks for sending those birds and the deer to the meadow, how wonderful to see the heron especially. Hate to think you are worrying about me and you are so sweet to offer help - I received a call this a.m. to tell me that my appt for bone scan was May 27th. I have to admit I wondered how I was going to get through to then and decided that I would contact my MO tomorrow when she was in clinic and see if I could get prescriptions for Tylenol 3 and Maxeran. I have my youngest's grade twelve grad ceremonies on May 22 a.m. and then banquet starts at 5 p.m. The next day I am supposed to be driving out to Fairmont with a good friend from work for a 4 day weekend retreat. Early this afternoon my MO called me to ask how I was doing. We talked for a bit and then she said she would phone in prescription, she is arranging to move up the bone scan date and is adding an ultrasound of liver/gallbladder. She was very nice and it was good to talk to her. Meanwhile pain is a constant but I am trying to distract myself.

    Take care everyone

Websister, so glad your MO phoned you, and that things will now start moving faster for you. You want to enjoy your son's grad activities, and that weekend retreat free from pain. Seems the MO is now on board, and that's good news. In the meantime I hope the pain will be manageable - big hugs, sister!

Nihai, hope somebody chimes in soon re posting photo's. I'm hopeless in that department . . . lol.

Liefie.....I bet hubby's getting anxious re: surgery and can't verbalize it appropriately????? I know he's a physician, but he's a husband first, and you ARE his beloved wife. Hope the chocolates are premium!!!!!

Websister...very glad to hear things are getting speeded up, and that you are being "heard"!!!! Hopefully this leads to a quick remedy!!!

Very frustrated re: photo sharing. I found some early violets, wild crocus and shooting stars today, and wanted to share them with you all. Don't know what I'm doing differently, but nothing seems to work Cry.

Websister, so sorry to hear about the pain you've been suffering. Hope that the new prescriptions bring you some relief. Also good news that the scan has been moved up. Hope you will be sufficiently pain free to enjoy your son's graduation. Oh, you mentioned the Leafs ... I am heart broken - how could they blow such a lead (this is a familiar feeling, since I've been cheering for them since 1970)?

Alive, sorry to hear you're having painful swelling. Hope you were able to get some attention for that.

Too bad the photo posting isn't working Nihahi - you always have such beautiful shots and I look foward to seeing more.

So nice that your kids see you as their hero, Dakota and Traii. I'm sure it must be hard waiting for a surgery date Traii - hope you can finally get that lined up soon.

This is the time in the chemo cycle when I actually feel pretty good - and Thursday is the last one! Had to get up early to take DH to airport by 6 AM so he could fly his plane to KY, whee he was then going to fly his mechanic's plane to Myrtle Beach, so they could inspect yet another plane. After dropping him off I worked all day, then went to a BBQ at some friends' house this evening (even had a glass or two of wine - naughty!), got home around 9 PM, paid some bills, yet I'm not overly tired.

My Mum is coming back tomorrow and staying for two weeks. Apparently my sisters reported that the situation between DH and me is very tense and that they thought it would help if Mum was here. Think DH is chafing at being here all the time, whereas my biggest fear is that we're going to lapse back into our old pattern of living in separate states and spending less than half our time together. Edi, I think he does dip into "The Breast Cancer Husband" from time to time, but not sure he's read it from cover to cover yet.

Okay, not to make a liar of myself, but now I am feeling sleepy. Hugs to Edi, Liefie, Scottie, Carla, Maria, Scottiee, Luvmy and everybody else!

Look out Ladies....I think Maria is gonna be another one of those energizer bunnies on chemo!!!!!!

Maria...those days of "feeling normal" are such a gift...it helps us believe that not all days are going to be bad or hard, and that "good" is still out there waiting for us! Photos..hmpf...a few days ago, I would have said...do this, do that and presto....today, nothings working for me.

Alive....what's the scoop on your latest "blip??? Hope things are better.

Edi...you should be getting up soon. I'm hoping that you'll solve the photo issue for me. You've become quite the pro at it. Better do up a consolation cake for Caitlin and her hockey team. (Blue and white, please, with blue maple leaf).

Getting tired, so going to bed now. Love to all.

Hi Bellies.......have had busy ,busy day......and icing on cake happened when walking my two Labs at park......I rolled my ankle and face -planted in front of a girl's softball game.....wow......Japanese hot-tubbing will NOT phase me after this!

Websister-Boo on the pain.....I really hope they can get to the bottom of this for you...continual pain is no fun, under ANY circumstances. :(

Liefie......almost just one week left! Bet you'll be prepared by the one week mark, you are so organized! Keep working those abs and quads! ;) Sorry DH is out of sorts....at least he has some emotion-for better or worse! My DH refused to even talk about me having cancer....it was as if by not talking about it, that it didn't exist.....I hope you got something nice in apology-you deserve it!

Maria-glad you are feeling better! Not sure I would bounce back so well, or so fast......fingers crossed that this will continue throughout your treatment! :)

Alive-hope you are feeling better........????? Sending good thoughts your way. :)

Traii and Dakota, you two ARE heroes in my book......you were forced to take on BC and raise little ones......I salute you both. Very strong women......I am keeping positive thoughts that Traii will get her surgery scheduled sooner rather than later, and that Dakota will have smooth sailing re:cockroach......and a new romance sometime in the not too distant future! :)

Edi.....love you, my lovely British friend! Glad you had a good day! I am still looking for all your cake pics......hmmmmmm? Isn't it fun (and kind of bittersweet) to run onto something DD played with, that now will go to GD? I have experienced that a time or two......Namaste XO

Nihahi - mountain soul sister! You are recovering so well I fully expect you to pass ME up! I have NO doubt that you will conquer the photo issue soon....it's just another hill to climb! ;)

Caitlin, how nice you get your mother for two weeks, regardless of the circumstances.....I really miss that part with my mother.....she just isn't "home" much, anymore. Hope you will enjoy your time together. :)

Thank you for your thoughts about my " mom" situation.....it is hard, sometimes, but I also realize it won't last forever, and I want to be there for her as long as I am able.

I wish you all a wonderful Tuesday, wherever you are! XO

    Namaste and God bless-Jackie

Hope you are all having a great day.

Had a nice day with my mum and DS. DS isnt sleeping his arvo naps anymore, arghhhhhhhh to me time for a couple of hours during the day. So by bed time for DS I'm pooped.....lol

Well called for results again today, STILL not reported. My Liver specialist is on holidays so hopefully get to speak to off sider tomorrow. Oh and guess what, STILL no surgery date on my notes at hospital...!!

Movie, what are you doing to your self girl...hope you are not in any pain. You really do deserve a holiday. Not long to go :)

Websister, glad you spoke to MO today. Hopefully you get scan sooner rather than later. You too are always in my thoughts.

Edi, Edi, darling cyber mommy.....bingo tonight ? Mum and I might go on Friday night when DH is home. Hes out working this evening its 9pm here and still out .... oh well more shopping money for me....and DS of course...lol.

Maria, so glad you are feeling well 4 days in and energy to clean....some words of advice, don't push yourself because you will knock yourself out, you do need to rest.

Caitlin, Glad your mums coming to stay and keep you company.

Dakota, like maria said , plenty of fish in the sea. You will find Mr Right when you least expect it. Maybe a summer romance is heading your way at the beach (that's where I found my DH many moons ago...) lol

Quick one for Traii (in my Canadian accent ;) - when my boys stopped napping I still had them take a quiet time in their rooms every afternoon until they were in school full time. I tried to make sure they had a quiet activity to do and that there was something to look forward to afterwards IF they stayed in their room and played quietly during that time. With four boys I really needed that break. Hope it might work for you :)

sob...sob... I tried your way Edi, I don't get the last drop down "clipboard" menu....still not working.....

On another note, Traii....I did the same as Websister re: naptime/quiet time. It truly is a killer, when you are used to those precious minutes of peace and quiet. Hang in there, the reports and bookings will happen...but I know it is so hard to wait. Is there anyone else you can nudge to help get some action??? Maybe your family doc???? It sounds like your hubby works a lot of hours, which makes it hard for you too. You've been such a trouper, wish there was some way to help sort things out for you.

Movie...unbelievable....I started freaking out reading your post, expecting to read the words....fracture....hospital.....cast....crutches.....my god woman, just wrap yourself in bubble wrap and get on that plane!!!!!! re: Mom, I think you're amazing. I try to live by the thoughts of: in 1, or 2 or 5 (whatever) years....will I be at peace with the choices I make today. Gets me through the rough things, that in the heat of the moment seem too difficult/tiring/discouraging to get through.

Websister....hoping for an easier day for you.

    Liefie....calmer waters today at home????

Looks like we'll be in for some rainy days soon.....time to get out while I can. Have good days. (((((X))))))

    Good morning sisters,

Websister, having raised 4 boys you certainly deserve a gold medal. What good, practical advice to Traii! I raised only two, and that was not easy. Every night by 8 I had them in bed, because by then my day had been way long enough . . . their sister did not give me half the trouble that they did, but that's boys for you. Mine were wild, and had to be watched 24/7. Can't wait to see my wild ones in a few days! They are now serious young men with office jobs . . . LOL. How the tables have turned!

Nihahi, I think you are right re DH being stressed about my surgery. I thought the same thing. A friend told me yesterday that her DH turned positively nasty when she had thyroid ca, would not even come to see her in hospital, and he is normally a very nice guy and good husband. Weird. Men don't verbalize their feelings like us women do, but the steam has to be let off in some way, eh? Anyway, peace is reigning again, and it is all good. Fighting/agonizing for days over nonsense is just not worth it. This was not a hill to die on, lol.

Traii, (in my South African accent), so your waiting game continues . . . it will happen, but I know that feeling of hanging in the air only too well. You just want this to be over already! I was being made to wait for a rads starting date like this. For us it was crucial to get it started asap after chemo, because I really wanted to be done a week before DD's wedding last year. I told them all this 3 months ahead of time, but eventually my rads finished the day after the wedding. Was so upset, but they would not budge re starting date. I understand you frustration. It just sucks.

Movie, you are so funny falling like that! Just glad you did not hurt something . . . at our age one has to be careful - lol. Yes, I'm working those muscles. This morning my butt and abs are sore after yesterday. Like that, because then I know I worked them hard. My feeling about the surgery is for it just to come so it can be over. You are also a wonderful daughter, and your mom is lucky to have you.

Maria, you have a wonderful attitude, and will breeze through this. Keep it like that, eh?

Caitlin, so good to hear from you, and that you're feeling well for now. Last chemo on Thursday - yaaaay!!! Will you be doing rads too? So wonderful to have your mom visiting. Enjoy your time together!

Edi, you are busy, eh? Getting on with life again, putting the drama behind you - you go girl!

Have to do some grocery shopping today so that I can cook/bake ahead for the weekend. DIL is bringing a friend with, so will put the two girls to work in the kitchen. Salad will be their chore. Also have to fit in a cardio workout today. This week is my last chance to exercise for some time to come.

A good day to you all! Alive, how are you doing?

Dakota, now you know the kids know w ho is the parent who loves and cares for them. Hero not a big enough word. You would be a fab President a person with a soft heart could just rock the job.

Eat those choc's. Choc good for you !!
Fun time ahead with the family, sure he will be back to his norml self then.xx

Caitlin, good luck Thursday, I am two weeks out and feel really well and alsmost normal. Food still tastes bit yucky but appetite returning and sense of freedom is wonderful.

Edi, glad you're feeling so good! Will try to skype you later today. You must be ecxited about that new laptop. Yayyy for shedman out of hospital, and holding thumbs for his PET scan, poor soul. DH brought me a single flower from the garden this morning, a magnificent purple-pink hydrangea about 8 inches across. The peace offering is sitting in a vase on the coffee table right in front of me. Such a thing of beauty, and he knows how I love hydrangeas. He is attending a lecture after work today, and will be coming home after nine tonight. You know what they say about absence makes the heart grow fonder . . . lol.
