ED and my other baby girl lol.
-

Friend sent me this, think it applies to us all.
Doggie the double of my little Molly, wonderful companion for 15 years.
-
Movie - hope all that is injured is your pride from that fall and agree with Nihahi that you need to wrap yourself in bubble wrap before you go on that plane
Liefie - the hydrangea sounds beautiful.
Edi - good to hear from you, you are sounding good. So nice that shedman has been discharged - hope he gets good results from his scan tomorrow. Clean oven and supper sounds wonderful, I was looking in my fridge this morning and thinking it could you a good cleaning.
Nihahi - looking forward to seeing those pictures. I like your strategy for getting through things, it really helps give perspective.
Caitlin - pocket party on Thursday for your last chemo! Way to go!
Maria - you are also sounding good. Now you know you can do this!
Traii - continuing to think of you also. Hope you good news re: appt and scan by soon
Jennie - how are you doing post rads?
My update is that I am booked for an abdominal ultrasound tomorrow afternoon and a bone scan for Thursday late morning. Progress
Take care everyone. -
Edi - love the pictures

-
Websister, so happy for you that there will be no more waiting, and this can get sorted out quickly. Yesss!!!
Love your pictures, Edi! Will try skype now.
-
Edi, thanks for your suggestions, none of which worked for me, unfortunately. I asked the mods for some help and "voila"! So here are some new flowers for our meadow.

Phew!!! I love to share the beauty of this world with everyone!
Websister...good news about your test dates...got everything crossed that something WILL show up, and that it is something readily fixable. You have too much on your plate to have "unknown" pain issues!!!
Liefie...I think the hydrangea from hubby speaks volumes!!! This time next week....you'll be blissfully asleep, while your docs do their magic.
Traii....???? How'd quiet time go today???
Movie....remember girl, we don't bounce as good as we used to! I would have freaked about the "new girls" with a fall like that.
Caitlin...getting close to being a veteran....is it going to be an "adult beverage pocket party" for your last chemo?
Alive....how's things going today? Thinking of you.
Maria....you are amazing, but like everyone else has said.... there's nothing wrong with a nap!!!!
Jennie...what to do with all that free time!!!!!
Dakota....having a great day, I hope.
Edi.......just love to hear that shedman is doing better. Clean oven....must mean more cakes are on the way!
Love to all.

Hey girls
8;30 am here. DS woke at 8 today. We both woke up coughing and feeling crap ;( ahh i hate winter!!
Websister 4 boys and you're still sane....oh how I admire you...lol
I do do the quiet time thing. He wont go into his room...thats sleep time!! But he does lay on his little couch, opens it up to lay down qnd watches some tv with his baby elmo and his blankie so whether it lasts for 15 mins, half hour or an hour is good enough for me.
Liefie you had 2 boys that kept you on your toes, I have 1 boy that makes up for 4 and keeps me on everything....lol. I love bed time thats forsure ( around 7;30-8pm)!!!
Edi pics are gorgeous of your girls.
Dakota in the cahhh parkkkkk...lol hope u not busy today.
Nihahi flower pics nice. I will/ should get answers this week!!
Love to all. Best i make ds breakfast then off to kindy this arvo! -
Bellies......(said in my Norhtwestern US accent)
Edi-you have two lovely daughters, and you are adorable! I hope they appreciate you! Loved your Pics you posted! Cute little doggy and Pooh! Hope BINGO goes your way tonight.....if you win, be sure and fly all of us over to visit, so we can inspect DH's new water feature for ourselves, okay?
Traii....I am starting to get agitated over them neglecting you! The doc goes on vacay and there isn't someone else in the whole office who can relay results????No fair! I will make quick detour to Oz and smack some heads together for you.....grrrrr!
Websister, you are in my thoughts and prayers.....hope the pain abates, and that you find nothing serious in scans. I have a DD (#4) who lives in constant pain due to endometriosis......no fun at all.
Liefie.....a week left! glad you are wisely choosing to exercise now, because you are right.....afterwards will have to wait a little while! Getting excited for you that this will soon be behind you!
Nihahi-Yay! Pics are gorgeous! Lets meet in glacier in August, and hike Iceberg Lake......you will find the most amazing wildflowers......truly our "meadow"! As was said to you on DIEP thread....."patience little grasshopper" re: ROM.....give it time! I have been out for almost 4 months, and my abdominal swelling is just now starting to go down.....time is your best friend!
Dakota-you can practice you womanly wiles on the patients, but only practice! you want a healthy guy....about 6'2-4" .....maybe someone who looks like Chris Hemsworth? (The Aussie Thor) That'd be about right!
Update on face plant: nothing broken, just bruised arm (protecting the "girls") and bruised ego. It. Was. Embarrassing!
Update on trip to Japanese Hot spring, where I will stroll nekkid into pool, and watch the natives' expressions of shock when they see I have no nipples(yet)! Just got go-ahead from PS who said: "soak away". Yay!
Love you all!
Namaste and God bless - Jackie
-
Movie, so will it be a womens' pool only? Your report of this occasion is something I really look forward to post DIEP - lol. So glad you did not injure something. My house has a lot of stairs, so I think I will just stay put upstairs until I feel stable enough.
Edi, I tried to skype, but it did not work. Will try again on Thursday.
-
Good Day, eh! (In my Canadian Maritimer accent).
Beautiful photos Nihahi! Think I will keep those meadow images in my head while being infused on Thursday. BTW, think the adult beverages will have to wait awhile (I'm planning champagne in about 2 weeks - my brother's 50th, Mum's 82nd birthday, and post-chemo celebration for me - and we'll all be together!) - but you girls are welcome to hoist a glass if you feel like it! Generally, still debating whether I feel comfortable drinking when I'm done treatment - thinking that an occasional glass of wine will have to be it.
Movie, wow, so glad you weren't seriously hurt by that face-plant (trust me, I can relate - plenty of embarrassing falls in my time!) - and amazing that you instinctively protected the "girls"!
Love the photo of you and your DDs Edi! Also, that's very promising news re: the shed man.
Liefie, hope that your preparation for surgery is going well and that you and DH will have good week together leading up to it. My DH and I have had our moments too - so much stress for him (my BC, his mother's cancer, job situation) - and it does seem like men don't know what to do with their genuime concern for us, meaning it can come out in inappropriate ways. I too would consider DIEP down the road (maybe in a year or so), if I'm a candidate. I'll be starting rads in June (33 treatments), so hopefully that won't totally wreck my skin and render reconstruction impossible.
Traii, hope you get your results (and a date) soon.
Websister, praying that your pain is under control and that your scans go well tomorrow.
Maria, hope you are still doing well! I'm impressed by your level of activity. AC pretty much flattened me during days 3 and 4 after treatment and recovery was slow after from then until the next round.
My stomach continues to give me quite a bit of grief, even with Prilosec and sometimes Zantac too. I'm worried it could be an ulcer but MO just said my symptoms are to be expected (mainly hunger pangs when I'm not hungry).
Hope everybody else is having a good week so far - night all! -
Hello all,
Today went well also. I keep hearing some of you say AC together I'm getting them seperate maybe that makes a difference? Not sure how they determine all of that stuff it's all so different.
Don't worry I'm the queen of nap right now but I am gratefull I am feeling like me just a little tired.
Walked around the lake near my house today with a friend her DS and the Beagle. Have I mentioned how much I love My Beagle Chester, He is such a gem.
I would post a pic if I was a it more computer savy.
Edi I love your pic with your daughters they as you are so lovely, and looked so happy.
Nihahi- I want to lay down in the middle of all those beautiful flowers.
Movie- Face plant did I miss something I'm glad your ok
Traii- thanks for the image of the little one curled up with his elmo so sweet. It;s nice when they start to entertain themselves.
Caitlin- I'll raise a glass with you even if it is just juice right now. I'm terrified to put ant acohol in my body allthough no one has said I could'nt?
Alive- how are you doing this week?
Movie- no nips I love, I would join in on that with my one saggy nip and one no nip I could see them now he he.
Well Dh is in snore land guess I better join him love to you all Maria
-
Hi' ya ladies...in my best rusty-door-hinge-creaky-whine... *wink
Have a staph infected sinus. On antibiotics. Wow. This has been fun the last couple of days...Not- But Must get it cleared up before surgery date on 28th. Not good to have that staph, it's bad a** and is hard to eradicate.
Nihahi, pics are sooooo lovely! TY, I needed that! Glad you got the down load thing figured out! xx
liefie, your big day is soon! Good you are getting excerise! I'm not one to do that alot... but then again, I do alot of stuff that requires alot of physical activity, so does that count? lol xx
websister, glad you are going to get something done Thurs.! Prayers your way! I raised 5 boys, hence the Alive4Five! Got one who is graduating this Sunday!
Understand completely the structure needed to keep it sane at my house whilst they grew...So I get ya!
Edi, your DD's are absolutely gorgeous! Take after their mother! xx So more cakes soon???
Traii, they had best get on getting your results! Wow, doc on holiday, and you wait. Here's hoping somebody let's you know 'something' and Soon! xx
Maria, hope each day you feel better and better! xx
Dakota, was going to post my vote too
but hey, better late than never! Consider it cast! Practicing your 'lines' are ya? heehee xxcaitlin, glad you are coming up on finishing chemo Thurs! So happy for you! xx
movie, you are a hoot! Be sure you have cam ready for the natives when you step in nekid, it will be a 'kodak' moment! lol too funny xx Oh, and no more face plants, k?

Many thanks to all who are thinking and sending wishes! Anyone I've missed, (((hugs))) to all and I will go again to my meadow to continue to recup. Swelling is going down, slowly but surely, still hurts... Love to you all! XX
-

For Caitlin, congratulations on finishing chemo, hope very mild se's. Cake made so sisters can ALL have a piece or two xxxx
-
Morning everyone,
Up early this morning at 5 - don't know why, but so happy to come here, have my coffee, and start my day with all of you.
Edi, two daughters are so precious! Lucky woman! Always wanted another one, but never happened. The last cake picture is downright seductive, and I seriously considered licking it - LOL. I've never met a chocolate that I don't love, and always have to reign in that runaway horse. Allow myself one square of dark chocolate every day . . . okay, two squares some days . . . with caramel and sea salt. Yum-my. Have to get that cocoa for the zinc content, see?
Nihahi, thank so much for always evoking that meadow for us with its wildflowers and fresh, sweet scents - we need that place of peace, serenity and calm.
Caitlin, I'm sure your skin will be just fine for DIEP or other recon after rads. I'm hoping for the best here too. Had 25 rads, and waited eleven months afterwards for skin and tissues to settle. It looks good to me on the outside, but who knows what lies beneath? Finding out soon.
Alive, FIVE boys??? You should come and stand next to Websister for a gold medal! If you can survive raising them, you can certainly survive this - lol! You take your antibiotics like a good girl, and eradicate/annihilate that staph infection. A lot of physical activity certainly sounds like exercise to me. My butt and tummy still sore after Monday's gym session, and the next one is this morning . . . fortunately I can rest for the next few weeks. Best wishes to you for a speedy recovery!
Maria, you are doing really well, and it seems that splitting the chemo drugs into two different days works for you. Chester sounds like a sweetheart - Beagles are just so cute and adorable. Keep up the walking - fresh air and movement so good for your body and soul.
Movie, it sounds as if you are beginning to look forward to the Japanese hot springs experience? Here's a riddle for you. What is worse than two nipple-less boobs? Wait for it . . . one nipple-less, saline-filled foob that sits high and perky, with the other boob hanging low and droopy. That would be me at the moment with about a four inch height difference between the two. . . LOL. Imagine those Japanese womens' reaction to that scary scenario . . . at least you are nice and even now, right?
Traii, I hope you are feeling better already, and the cold symptoms are vanishing. No fun to be coughing, sneezing and feeling rotten while you chase after a 3-year old who also feels rotten. Hugs to you two!
Websister, sending good wishes re the US today. Hope we won't squirm too much in that pocket.
Weather still dreary here, and I've been hanging around the house not accomplishing much. Will spring into action today.
Good day to each and all of you!
-
Raised in western New York state, lived in Miami, Florida, settled down in Calgary, Alberta.....I have NO idea what my accent sounds like!!!!
Edi....your cakes are AMAZING!!!!!! How do you not just get swamped with orders????
Alive....crap...staph infection. So glad you got on it ASAP...hope the antibiotics do their thing...should be starting to feel a bit better after a day or two of the drugs. What a way to push bc off the front burner for a moment or two!!!! Get all the complications out of the way now....maybe you'll then have clear sailing??
Maria..gosh, you just sound so great. Must be the pure mountain air????? Keep on truckin girl.
Caitlin....I see absolutely nothing wrong with a glass of wine, every now and then....and most definitely on special occasions. None of us "drank our way to bc".
Traii....sorry you're not feeling well, hope you and son kick it soon. Hmmm....comment about winter....I'll keep my mouth shut on that one....!
Websister....hang in there, the scans are getting closer. Sure hope you don't have the waiting for results that have been Traii's reality.
Movie..Liefie...I posted some words to you on the Diep thread.
Movie....I soooo want to jump in your suitcase and go back to Japan....cannot WAIT for the stories you'll have to tell! I think in a former life, I must have lived there...the ancient temples, history, etc. felt so "familiar" to me.
Liefie....you are gonna ROCK your surgery and recovery...enjoy your family visits this weekend. Hope the days are filled with love and laughs.
Dakota....Memorial Day weekend coming up for you soon....bet it means non-stop sports (again!).
Time to get moving, Love to all, especially to any I have missed. (((((X)))))

Liefie , luvmy, Benny oh Benny thinking of u all !!!!
Cheers to a great day. Off to practice my lines ........ Lol -
You are not going to believe this. Got a call from my PS an hour ago telling me that my surgery has been moved to TOMORROW!!!!! Not sure how I feel. Biggest bummer is my children coming home for the long weekend, and I will be in hospital in Victoria till Sunday if there are no complications. Can't help but feel a little upset, because we have to just roll with it, otherwise I will have to wait till October for the surgery. No choice in the matter. My PS is going off on mat leave on June 13, and can't fit me in except for tomorrow. DH working ER shift tonight, and has to find somebody to do that for him as we have to leave in a few hours. Crazy - this is all happening too fast.
-
Lifie - u got this girl !!! Good luck keep us posted !!! Hugs
-
Liefie...just messaged you on the deep thread. HUGS, HUGS, HUGS!!!!!
-
Dear Liefie, just popped on for a quick look and OMG !! Take care as you are precious to us. Sure all will be fine as you are fit as a fiddle. Children will still see you and be your support. Just think two perky boobs before you know it, in my thoughts and prayers xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

-
Liefie - WOW, sister. In your pockets big time for tomorrow. You will do fine, you are so prepared. Your kids will understand, who the heck would want to wait until October (BTW nice long maternity leave for your doc).
Caitlin - in your pocket for Celebration time on Thursday. Don't hoist too many glasses but might make a special occasion for you.
Edi - loved pic of you and DDs. All beautiful. So good to hear shed man is better.
Movie - Sorry to hear about the face plant but good going protecting the girls. You may find the Japanese too polite to stare in the communal tubbing.
Websister - Praying for boring results on your ultrasound and bone scan.
Will add more. Want to get this off to Liefie and Websister.
-
ooh ooh ooh liefie!
Guess this is good afterall? With you!!! Prayers and (((big hugs)))!!!! You got this girl!
Thoughts, love and prayers!! xoxox
All the rest of you lovelies,
xoxoxox Hi ya luvmy! Good to see you! -
Liefie. Good Luck for tomorrow girl. U got this. I know mentally you're prepared. You will be fine and you will be going to the meadow and we will all there waiting for you.
Thanks ladies for the get well wishes. Woke up feeling crappier. I know a shower will fix that and steam to unblock my nose.
Hope every one is having a good day/night xc -
Am in between errands for Japan ..... come in to check on you girls, and .....Lieife!!!!!!
I get where you are coming from, but in a way this is better, and you will be recovering even SOONER! I am so excited for you, and will be in your pocket for sure! Love you! Everything is going to turn out fine, and you will have a lot of support from all of your sisters here, and the DIEP thread. ((((Hugs))))
you are in my prayers....
Namaste and God bless - Jackie
-
Oh and caitlin...u did it!!! Last chemo forever!
Thursdays going to be busy for us all...inbetween liefie and you...but we will be there celebrating with Edis gorgeous cake xx -
Liefie - PM'd you and got your reply. Safe drive to Victoria and hope you are able to get some sleep tonight.
Alive4five - glad you are on top of that staph infection - hope you are feeling much better soon. Five boys - you've got me beat
Aren't they wonderful! My youngest graduates from high school on Wednesday next week.
Edi - beautiful cake! How did shedman's PET scan go today?
Nihahi - so much beauty added to the meadow with the addition of your flowers
Traii - if you haven't heard anything yet you have my permission to lose your patience with them! Hugs!
Movie - hope you're keeping that bubble wrap around you
Luvmygoats - good to hear from you.
Today's result was boring - I was in there for an hour and there was one moment of anxiety when they came back in to look again, but it was the spleen they were looking at and re-measuring the lesion that was identified on previous scan - the radiologist then sent back the message that there were no significant changes from the last ultrasound. Thank you all for being there
Bone scan tomorrow -
Websister....one round down, one to go! How's the pain?
Liefie....thinking of you bigtime....don't stress....your family are all adults, and can look after themselves....there are no chores, groceries, etc, etc. more important than you...so don't stress about anything "undone". This time TOMORROW.....DONE AND DUSTED!!!!!!
Traii...for pete's sake...feel better!!!!!!
My PS today said things are looking good.....do whatever I want....but don't overdo it. Except hold off a bit longer on the abs. So..... where did I put that backpack??????? Next appt is in July.
-
Good result Websister...prayers bone scan is the same (which it will) hope pains minimal for you x
Nihahi...did u hear take it easy...plenty of time for that back pack girl.....good news no appts til July x -
Edi, that is an absolutely beautiful cake! Thank you so much! Mum and I were skyping with my sis tonight and I was telling them about the cake and how you ladies have been so wonderfully supportive.
Liefie, what a shocker that your surgery has been moved up - but maybe it's better in some ways to have less time to think about it? You will be on my mind tomorrow - praying that it will all go well and that you will heal quickly.
Websister, relieved to hear that you received good results on the US. Hoping the bone scan goes well too.
Traii, sorry to hear you were feeling crappy - hope you are starting to get back to normal now.
Hoping for a better sleep tonight - good night lovely ladies! -
Liefie in your pocket right now. Sooner is better then later.
Edi love love love the cake. You make me want to eat cake.
Caitlin hope the sleep angels find you
Traii I hope you and you'd baby are feeling better.
Alive hope your meds have kicked in and your feeling better as well.
Nihahi glad you got a green light from your Ps just try not to over do it.
Webmaster yea for your good news today here is to some more with your bone scan tomorrow
