I am loving Bates Motel and Vikings, those are my most recent favorites.

I did catch the first Mr. Selfridge but forgot to catch it again.  Still a fan of GOT and eager to see how the new Downton Abbey will pan out.  Have also caught a few episodes of The Following and its really interesting.

ChemicalWorld~ I also am loving Bates Motel & Vikings. Pretty darn good!

Hey Gracie!! ~~~ Guess what I read?!?

In my latest issue of TV Guide, there is an article on Spinoff Mania

    AND

    it says:

"Even cable's AMC is mulling keeping the legacy of Breaking Bad alive via a show staring Bob Odenkirk, who plays sleazy attorney Saul Goodman on that show."

Can you dig it?!? What do ya think??

What we need are the writers of breaking bad and the director to carry anything on. I look forward to the last episodes and sad that it brings the ending. My husband doesnt like TV drama and he watched this!

Hi Valjean! Thanks for the info. I don't know what to think. I enjoy Saul's character, but can he pull something off without the other characters? I wonder. Better than nothing I suppose. I think I mentioned this before, Breaking Bad has ruined me for other tv. I just have no interest in anything else (a little bit for Sons of Anarchy), but now that Opie's gone I don't even know if I want to watch that anymore. Sigh. If Saul gets a show though, I'm sure I'll watch. I hear AMC is a hard network to work with. I doubt it has anything to do with BB ending; probably just want to stop before it jumps the shark, but sadly even at it's worst it would still be a hundred times better than anything else. It will be a sad day for tv. Not everyday you hit on the perfect ensemble cast, with perfect writing.

I heard this morning that a senator in the US got some ricin mailed to him. Tongue Out Uh-oh. Walt gave someone an idea.

Ginger ~ There is a new show starting April 22, Monday, on the Sundance channel from the Breaking Bad producers: Mark Johnson & Melissa Bernstein called Rectify. The premise is about a convict who gets out of prison on a technicality and returns to his Georgia hometown. There are to be six episodes. The trailer I have seen is intriguing.

Gracie ~ I agree, and I do think networks like to shop ideas around to see what 'sticks' so to speak. We'll see if anything comes to fruition.

Okay, I must make a correction on a previous post:

The website that I got the information from was wrong, wrong, wrong!

AMC has set the premiere date for the final season of eight episodes of

    Breaking Bad ~~

    AUG 11 ~ 9 PM

This is straight from the horse's mouth so I will take it at face value.

Dang, now we have to wait LONGER!!

    Crap!!

(the website of the previous start date was from iMbd or however they write it. I will never believe anything they post again without my own verification of it first!)

I have been so bleary headed this past 2 1/2 years that I don't necessairly take in the content of programs that I watch.  Sooooo, I am watching MI5 again! I love it again. I don't feel at all that I am wasting my time because so much of the programing is new to me. :)

    Good luck.

Haven't looked in for a while now.  I had been watching The Following, but the killing was getting to me; and then I switched to The Voice when that started.  Now, I am watching the final six episodes of The Following on the Fox website because I do like the twisty storyline.

Also, I'm surprised to see Val and a couple others have gotten into Vikings.  Me too.  Something I can watch with my husband since he won't look at anything with a "housewife" in it.  Anyway, because I missed a bunch of those shows, I recently watched the marathon that ran one Sunday.

I kind of watchBomb Girls too.  That show is not being renewed and will finish up soon.  I enjoyed the storyline.

Well, it's not high drama but "Four Weddings and a Funeral" is on tonight (7pm here) which is good enough for me. But Eli probably not for your DH even though no "housewife" in title.

I finished up watching The Following now.  (The further out I am from my surgery, the more I can tolerate the bloody gore, I guess.)  All I can say is, when it comes back for second season, who will they follow now???

I'm watching A. Idol finals and The Voice too, which I did not mention but I post on the whole thread devoted to those shows.

Im thinking either Joe Carroll somehow escaped or his followers will carry on. It is, after all, called the Following!

I love Bates Motel. This is the first year I didn't watch American Idol, but I'm looking forward to So You Think You Can Dance.

The previews for Under The Dome looks pretty good. I'm going to at least check it out.

Lately, I am seeing some t.v. shows that Marybe liked that are coming off of their breaks and starting new seasons, or in the case of "The Big C," getting ready to have the series finale.  I didn't watch the ones on HBO that she liked, but they make me think of her.

Thanks for the breaking bad update. I hate to see the show end. The writing has been so good.

I also watch Dexter and understand it will end this season too.

It costs much less for any kind of reality show so as long as we watch they will be produced in every permutation.

I am embarassed, I used to watch the storage unit auction type of show because I found it interesting, sort of like a treasure hunt, to see what was in the units. Then my DD pointed out that peoples lives and sad losses were represented in the units and I found no pleasure in the "treasure hunt" any longer.

I do watch the Real Housewives of New Jersey.  While not Italian myself, I grew up in an Italian culture and a lot of the show reminds of things that were ever present in those days. The idea of showing respect was really important, thus the big deal on the show of one sister in law bringing inferior cookies to a party. It sounds insane on the face of it but represents so much more. I also like Caroline the matriarch on the show.

Yes the Following, I liked it.  Not Bates motel too scary for me. I saw Psycho in the theatre as a kid. I like suspense but not horror!

I look fporward to the Americans to be back. Homeland, too. I like spy stories. They are my favorites. No slasher stuff and I go past any torture episodes.   As a kid I read the Spy Who Came in from the cold stories in readers digest condensed books. I also read Cherry Ames Student Nurse, Cruise ship Nurse, Department Store Nurse etc.

I am not a big fan or romance stories but I do watch them. I love comedy in most forms except slap stick.

Luvmygoats~~I've been wondering about that. I love Jeff Foxworthy. Is it any good?

Major Crimes returns to TNT on Monday night. I think on June 24, Under The Dome premieres. We plan to check that out.

Paula - It's your typical reality show but I like Jeff Foxworthy. I don't think I've learned anything about cooking/baking but it is replacing some my Dancing with the Stars withdrawal. I have not heard of the 2 "star bakers" who are judges. Fun cast of nut case bakers.

Under the Dome scares the blankety-blank out of me. Did you every watch Invasion (2006)? About the same kind of show I think. I can't watch "Children of the Corn" and just barely if DH is there can I watch "The Shining". I'm a major sci-fi wimp. Give me the old "Dark Shadows". LOL.

Did anybody watch the BBC America show Orphan Black which just ended its 10-episode run? OMG, it was fantastic! A thriller about a gal with a small child who witnesses a gal commit suicide by jumping in front of a train & assumes her identity. She picks up the gal's purse, goes to her flat & subsequently finds out she looks just like her & the story races on from there. She finds out they are two of many clones.

The actress, Tatiana Maslany, is absolutely fabulous in this! Each character she portrays is completely different, from her accent to her dress, her walk, each action. Each person is totally different from the rest. I have never seen anything like this. And I just learned earlier this evening she won the Critic's Choice Award for Best Actress. Well acted, exceptionally well done in all respects!

If you can catch this, try it; I don't think you will be disappointed.

I don't want to spoil it for anybody but I will say, there is a part that has to do with a garbage disposal..... I sat with my hand over my mouth, it was, for lack of a better word at this late hour, chilling. Not gross, but like, "OMG, I have never, ever seen that before!!" I was trying not to laugh because I didn't want to laugh at what I saw, but........

Season two is spring of 2014. I can hardly wait.

Valjean~~I'd never heard of that show, but I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the info.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit it, but about 3 years ago I found PRETTY LITTLE LIARS On Demand. My young Grandaughter was spending the weekend and we watched 3 or 4 episodes. I became totally addicted to the show. It's about 4 teens who have a friend go missing. She was the Mean Girl in the group. Finally her body is found and now the remaining 4 are being stalked by someone who knows their every move. It's very well written.

Paula, thanks for the premise of Pretty Little Liars. I didn't know what it was about, just seeing the picture of the girls in the show, I made a decision I probably wouldn't like it. I'm not usually like that, don't know why I did with this show. I will give that a try. Glad you brought that up.

I always liked, and watch the reruns of, Veronica Mars. Young kids in school - the lead character is a detective. It's good. A guilty pleasure I call it. Just like my guilty pleasure now is Vampire Diaries, has been from day one.
