Did anyone watch the first episode of Revolution? I cannot say that I liked it a lot, but I am intrigued enough to stick with it for a few more episodes.

Elizabeth..I have REVOLUTION on DVR. Maybe we'll watch it tonight after church. Sometimes they start slowly because they have to introduce you to everyone. I thought PRISON BREAK started like that, but it turned out to be a great show.

I see PRIVATE PRACTICE & GREY'S ANATOMY come back on next week. I've been hooked on those from the beginning.

We watched MOB DOCTOR last night. It looks like it might be a keeper. We'll see.

I liked Revolution well enough to watch for awhile. It is all going to deepnd on character development because there is no way they can afford the sets this sort of story calls for.

Right now I am waiting for the finale of Big Brother.

    PARENTHOOD

    SPOILER ALERT

I began to cry at the end of this week's Parenthood. I cannot believe the character arc they are doing this season. I don't know whether to watch or not. I wonder how realistic it will be. Having Kristina get her diagnosis soundlessly was so spot on for me. All of the soundlessness. The shock, dismay, racing thoughts and yet no thoughts...

And her facial expression. It brought back such tragic and deeply felt emotion for me.

Every mammogram or ultrasound I have had since, I want to cry for the ladies I see the doctor/radiologist taking into the room for the "Talk" about coming back immediately for biopsy. About how she knows its cancer, just not what variety. I wish no one ever ever had to hear that again forever. Crying sitting here typing this wanting this breast cancer scourge to end.

Anyway, any thoughts or feelings about this PARENTHOOD plotline?

I haven't watched this episode of PARENTHOOD yet, but I don't mind the spoiler.

I just finished MOB DOCTOR & REVOLUTION. DH & I both liked them.

I see that CRIMINAL MINDS is back next week! We've watched every episode from the very beginning. Of course, after watching that, I never go into roadside rests at nighttime anymore. Lol

Did anyone notice the bad guy on REVOLUTION is Gus from BREAKING BAD?

I watched the first episode of "Revolution". Didn't like it enough to keep watching. I found myself thinking how weird it must be for the guy who played "Gus". He's been on so many tv shows but once you've been on BB, there's nowhere to go but down.

I watched the rerun of the season finale of Greys Anatomy and am glad I did. Now I am really anxious for the season to begin next thursday.

I think at heart I was always a "back to the lander" so revolution appeals to me in that way. Of course I have been married for 34 years to a man who thinks roughing it is going to a holiday inn. He has traveled A LOT, can't you tell!   He would do all this fancy travel and then when it was on our dime I would book us into Motel 6!!!!!!   Anyhow I haven't had the chance to do much "back to the landing" in several decades.

I watched the No Go show and it is good, funny.

I watched Parenthood this afternoon, I don't know how they'll arc it but it brought back that horrible drop stomach feeling cause you remember "that talk" on the other hand when she was having the mammogam she didn't have her arm up holding on to the machine .... why do I notice silly things like that.

I love how PARENTHOOD deals with real life problems of everyday families. Asbergers, teenage sex, sibling rivalry, financial difficulties, alcoholism, breaking up & making up, adoption. I hope they don't trade it in for another reality show. There's more than enough of those. If there's not a lot of killing going on, they scrap the show. I love good drama.

Parenthood - I was in tears by the end of the episode.  I love that show and how they deal with real life issues and all the characters.  But now I'm wonder if each time I watch it this season will I be reliving my own experience and be in tears like I was at the end of this episode.  I guess I'll just have to get the kleenex out.

I don't know if I have seen the first episode of Bomb Girls or not, but I have watched two shows so far.  I like the 1940's (reminds me of my parents' heyday) and I like the potential for character development that they have hinted at so far; and I like Meg Tilly (ex-wife of Colin Firth...love HIM.)

Meanwhile, in my reality show watching side lured me into checking out Breaking Amish (not joking, and with that title, I had to watch!)   Four Amish and one Mennonite head to NYC.  So far, they've done about 4-5 things in every episode that will get them shunned for life.  In fact, one of the guys, about ALL he is shown doing is breaking the rules of his faith.  There's always question if these "reality shows" are fake.  If so, these kids are great at their "portrayals."  If not, this is a weirdly compelling show and allthough there is no reason whatsoever for this to happen, I think it would be wild if these kids met The Real Housewives of New York City in an upcoming episode.  Just for fun.

I've been watching "Breaking Amish" too (based on the title)Wink. I quite enjoyed it. I really like that Abe kid. Jeremiah, on the other hand seems like a sh*t disturber. I can't see him ever going back to his Amish lifestyle. Looking forward to next week to find out what happened to that poor Rebecca girl who lost all her teeth. The preview made it sound intense.

As far as it being fake, who knows. I tend to believe that they were given the option by TLC to take the opportunity and have their expenses in NY paid. Maybe that it's why people believe it's staged...but I'm o.k. with that. I'm sure it's akin to any other reality show, where everyone wants their 15 minutes. Whether the rest of it's a scam, I guess we'll have to wait and see. With all the controversy it's stirring up, it will probably be cancelled shortly anyway.

There are many hutterites a few miles away from the city I live in. I do a lot of my shopping there and they have made me many feather blankets and things, so I've gotten to know them pretty well. I was talking to them about this show and one of the ladies mentioned that in their community, all of the kids are given the opportunity to explore other options when they turn 16. A tradition called "rumspringa". Most, not all, come back home after their time away. I thought that was pretty interesting, and why I'm giving the show the benefit of the doubt, for now.

...and, It was really fun to see Aaron Paul win another Emmy for Breaking Bad. I just love that guy, in character, and in real life. He's such a sweetie.

National Geographic did a series called Amish:Out of Order that was far superior to the TLC Amish program.  NGeographic also did a series called  Meet the Hutterites. I was fascinated by those 2 shows.  The Amish Out of Order really showed how an ex Amish person helps the youth leaving the Amish and how they fair out on their own.

Sewingnut my husband watched AMISH:OUT OF ORDER, and I would listen to some. It broke my heart when some of them would go home and stand outside, hearing laughter from inside, and smell mama's cooking, and know they weren't welcome there anymore.

We also watched the HUTTERITES a time or two. I remember when the daughter got a job at the restaurant so she could buy an iPad. Of all the things she might want or need it was an iPad. Just struck me funny.

Any GOOD WIFE fans on here? It starts this Sunday 9/30/2012. The MENTALIST is on at the same time. Thank God for DVR!

We used to have the NatGeo channel, but we got the crappy watered down Canadian version. It was never as good as the American version so we just ended up cancelling. I can imagine those two shows were very interesting and genuine. I would have liked to have seen them. I'm not a huge fan of TLC....they seem to want to exploit, and I always think the producers are in the background telling these people to "amp" it up for television.....especially that Honey Boo Boo show. OMG. The family is probably more than happy to be on a t.v. show, but lordy, I can't believe they're putting themselves out there. Must be getting paid well.

Tonight will be a good night for me...DWTS and Private Practice.

Watched this week's Breaking Amish. Can you imagine having all your teeth pulled, without anesthetic, with pliers? Un-freakin-believable! Absolutely barbaric. That poor girl. I shed a little tear when the dentist she saw made her new dentures for free.

There's so many rumors going around about this show, like Rebecca and Abe already having a baby, Jeremiah having an ex-wife and three kids, Kate having worked as a stripper. If that's the case, what TLC should have done is just be honest and say they were ex-communicated Amish and this is their new life. I think they'd have gotten a lot further, had they been honest. What happened to "The Learning Channel"?

Oddly, I'm still intrigued and I usually hate staged reality shows. Don't know what it is about this one that sucked me in.

I watched the final season of BB and won't say a word in case you didnt see the ending yet.

I would love it if they did another season, it is superb.  I watch the last 8 episondes in two days time. Haha

I also like Dexter but in a different way than BB.

I am disappointed in Glee's first two episonde this season. Too much late teen engst and too little ongoing character building for the hometown show Glee. I think the writier is having a hard time letting go of his characters. I will contimue to watch though.

I tuned into the reunion of Housewives of NewJersey. Too much screaming, too much crazy talking. Several of them seriously need therapy. Thier kids will be crazy too growing up in that environment. I like a show where you get to see people working through their stuff and having some resolution. This isn't it.

Ginger BB will be back in summer 2013. They always break the season into 2 parts, so we still have several more episodes coming. We just have to wait for them.

Do you watch REVENGE? That's a keeper. I taped some of the new shows, REVOLUTION, MOB DOCTOR, 666 PARK AVENUE. None of them look very promising. But, NASHVILLE premieres this week, and it does look good.

    Good morning Ladies!

I wanted to remind anyone who is interested in DVR-ing or watching, NASHVILLE premieres tonight on ABC at 10 pm. It's about a 40 year old country super star, ala Reba MacEntire, who is asked to be the opening act for a newcomer. It's supposed to be a really good drama. We'll see.

Chicago Fire premieres at the same time on NBC.

Does anyone watch GREY'S ANATOMY, and PRIVATE PRACTICE? What's with Shonda Rhimes killing off major characters on both shows?

    Blessings

Here in the US I think Covert Affairs is on season three. I love the show, always watch or record.

The Shondra Rhymes killing off her characters, I wonder if it is due to contract issues? Of the two shows I only watch Greys Anatomy and think the season opener was a bad start. Did they also lose writers?

On BB is there really more episodes, I truely thought the brother in law bathroom scene was the wrap up? I hope there is mo0re and I know someone here thinks so but I havent found any reference to it anywhere.    Of course I thought last season was the finale of Greys Anatomy!   lol so much for what I know!

Yes, next year BB airs the final 8 episodes. Go to Wikipedia, search for BB, it will give you every episode aired & to air yet. I do this for every show to find out season start date & synopses. Gives tons of info on whatever show you search for. (I found this by googling "(insert name of show) episodes").

I watched the season premiere of American Horor Story last night.  Well, it's already as gory as the last season but, if you can get past the gore, it looks like there will be a good assortment of fine actors going psycho once again, and lots of scenes that make you wonder why? and wth?  Marybe liked the first season of AHS.

Speaking of gore...I always like to have something lined up in my Netflix queue, that I can watch whenever, so I am finally getting around to watching Nip/Tuck from the beginning.  I had seen some episodes along the way, but watched too infrequently before as to get any sense of order to the plot.  Now getting the continuity.  But those operations!  The slicing of delicate eyelid skin, the grossness of tummy tucks.   Imminent queasiness caused me to look away more than a few times.  I think anyone who watched this show can easily handle AHS!
