Watching anything good this season?

Grey's Anatomy was better tonight. A few scenes were kind of boring and newer characters not too interesting. I have hope for continued improvement.
Still wondering about the last episodes of BB, wondering where they can go with the characters. It will be a long wait!
I watched Project Runway and was very happy with the conclusion. Yay Dimitri!

If anyone is interested...tonight on ABC's 20/20 Aaron Fisher, Victim I in the Jerry Sandusky case is sharing his ordeal. This young man's story and lack of adult protection is heartbreaking.
It's on at 10.00 pm.
Blessings

I must say that this season 2 of American Horror Story is ....... well, I haven't seen anything like it before. I am startled at some moments and can't believe what I'm seeing but at other moments I can't turn away. Finally caught up to current episode.
I wonder what Marybe would think of it.... I know she really liked Jessica Lange in Season 1. I think she would like it.
-
A friend turned me on to "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia". I streamed a few episodes mid-season 3 to check it out. Not BB, but the few episodes I saw were quite funny. Has anyone seen it from the beginning? Worth getting in to?
-
We checked out several new shows that didn't keep our attention for long, among those were REVOLUTION, & MOB DOCTOR. The jury is still out on NASHVILLE, but we love VEGAS, CHICAGO FIRE, and MALIBU COUNTRY.
Blessings
Paula -
I dont know if mob doctor is still on the air? I still watch Chicago Fire. I want to like Vegas but am not sure if I do yet. I record it and then don't watch it. I am about the same with Revolution.
I love Call the Midwife. I watch Greys Anatomy.
There are no home decorating shows on lately. Am I looking in the wrong place?

-
I missed the second and third AHS, so now I won't be able to follow that. I saw the first Call The Midwife and it looked good, but then I didn't watch more of them. I cannot get into Revolution. Going to watch the new season of Top Chef.
Still going through Netflix episodes of Nip/Tuck. Now one male surgeon has breast cancer which, because t.v. is so real, it seems that the main S/Es for him are throwing up and banging his anesthesiologist. Just like we all did. Ha!
-
I watched all the Nip/Tuck seasons as they aired. There again for that show, also, there were moments I could not believe what I was watching & would say, "OMG!" and other moments I would have hysterical laughter. But I continued to watch, I liked the actors. Some of the procedures they performed were crazy & it did get a bit more outlandish as it neared the end of the series, but I watched 'em all!
Anybody watch Boss this season which just ended season 2? Fantastic show, great performance by Kelsey Grammer. I am still surprised he did not win an Emmy for his performance. Excellent show. Look forward to season 3 next year.
Any Sons of Anarchy fans out there?
No verdict yet on Nashville, all episodes on DVR waiting for me to watch. Love The Good Wife but those episodes are waiting for me as well. What am I waiting for?!? Hockey season to start?? Then I have more to record because I never miss my Red Wings. Oh, me, oh, my!! What a pickle I put myself in sometimes. Some shows I do not watch until DH goes to bed because I have found I miss parts because he talks.... love him, but please don't talk during my show! So, I have learned...

Hey gals - My PBS station is running Downton Abbey Revisited tonight. Pretty sure it is new. "Cast interviews, behind-the scenes footage and a preview of what the Crawleys may face as they enter the Roaring Twenties" Think tonight is the first airdate. Ready to put my pjs on and settle in later. Heigh ho for season 3 January 6th.
-
Valjean, as I've been desperately channel surfing, I came across a couple of episodes of Sons of Anarchy. I've only seen it two times, but everytime I tuned in, something really cool has happened. I'm not sure of the characters, but the first time I saw it, there was a funeral (don't know for who, tuned in late), and saw that Charlie Hunnam guy jump a barrier to beat the sh*t out of someone while the cops watched. Kind of intrigued me to find out more. The second one I saw was "Peg Bundy" at her dad's house with that Kim Coates guy, whom her dad shot in the shoulder. I like most of the actors in the show. I know you're a BB fan, like me, so please give me your opinion.....worth watching from the beginning?

As part of my celebration of hitting 5,000 posts today (who knew I had that much to say?) I found a graphic I just had to share with the sistahs over here who are Breaking Bad fans like me. I don't normally use that noun when posting on these threads, but what can I say, it's Jesse.

-
LOL Eli
I have been catching up on Dexter.Excellent season.
-
gracie ~ Sorry for the delay in getting back to this thread & I won't be here too long tonight as my bed is calling me & the time is late and DH's alarm goes off at 4 AM. (don't ask me how much I hate that!!)
The Sons of Anarchy is definitely worth watching from the beginning. I have watched it since the series began & I have to say it is my second favorite show behind ............ can you guess???? .......... Breaking Bad, of course!!! The acting is great, each season has been a can't miss season. In fact, this current, well, it just ended Season 5, has been the best so far. Season 7 will likely be the last.
Give it a go from the beginning, I think you'll really like it, especially if you are intrigued by the bits you have seen already.
I plan to watch the season finale that aired tonight (Tuesday, & as I write this it is Wed AM) tomorrow morning, I know it is an hour and a half, so must find some sit-down time for it, but I most certainly will!! Can't wait to see how things end up.
Keep me updated on your viewing if you do decide to watch from Episode 1, Season 1.
-
E ~~ I love the celebratory Jesse graphic. Yeah, baby!
Miss that show......
Have some info to share on BB, but getting later as we speak, so will post tomorrow.
And no, it is not the premiere date yet. Only know that is summer 2013 so far.
-
Thanks Valjean. I'm getting Season 1 this weekend, so I'll start from the beginning. What sucks is I watched the episode last night, so now I know how it ends. Crap....I didn't know that was the season finale. Oh well, curious to find out if they're good guys or bad guys, as I haven't been quite able to figure that out with the three episodes I've seen.
Looking forward to what you have to post about BB. Gawd, I miss it!!!! I can't stand that they're making us wait this long.
Elimar, love the graphic.....love Jesse....love his catch phrase (it cracks me up every time).
Been reminiscing.....one of the funny Jesse moments. When he and Mike were at Tucker's trying to find a way in and Jesse says ""You may know this whole P.I. sit-in-the car business, but I know meth-heads." Hilarious how he got Tucker focused on digging the hole. Remember when he was telling Walt he couldn't live in his haunted house anymore because of the "raspberry slushies" that went down his toilet? The writing has a way of making the sickest things funny. C'mon summer 2013!!!!!
-
Along side the article in the Nov 19-Dec 2 issue of TV Guide is a picture of Bryan Cranston standing by an open red car trunk with, are ya ready?!?
HAIR!! A Beard, mustache & a full head of hair!!
The article:
<<<<We know two things about AMC's addictive series, which returns for its final eight episodes next summer: DEA agent Hank (Dean Norris) has figured out that his brother-in-law Walter White (Bryan Cranston) is Albuquerque's meth king Heisenberg, and a hirsute Walt somehow ends up with a New Hampshire ID and heavy artillery in the trunk of his car. We can't tell you much more, because not even creator Vince Gilligan is sure what's going to happen. "We are closing in on what the final episodes will contain," he reports. "We have it in very broad strokes, but there are still a lot of details to figure out, and God is in the details." At lease Gilligan can reassure us, "I'm more frantic than ever to make sure these last episodes are as good or better than anything we've ever done." Now if only he could help us with the inevitable post-finale withdrawal....>>>>
Not much, I know, but the picture blew me away.
"raspberry slushies"
***the sickest things funny*** You are soooo right about that!!
-
We're in for a real treat, I think. Going to google the picture.
Thinking of Marybe and wishing she was here.
-
A little bit late but The Thorn Birds is on Encore this week.
-
If you missed any of the first half of Season 5 of Breaking Bad, I noticed it is now available on Netflix streaming. It's kind of ridiculous that the second half of the season won't air til next summer. That is one of the longest series breaks I have known of. I'll probably have to do a Netflix recap before watching the final episodes.
I haven't been watching many "Christmas Classics" this year, but I've noticed there are hundreds of different ones now (and I'm not even counting Lifetime Channel.) When I was a kid, seems like they only had five that were shown over and over.
-
Downton Abbey starts on January 6th. I got on a British site yesterday, looked around a little (?ITV) and kinda decided not to spoil our showings over here. It does help that PBS is rerunning Series 1, 2.
-
The production of Season 3 of Game of Thrones is underway & I saw some scenes of location shoots on HBO tonight. I really hope this upcoming season is better than Season 2. Marybe was disappointed, as was I, last year, mostly because it was so different than the books. Much different than Season 1.
I haven't watched any Christmas classics this year. I have It's a Wonderful Life & the original Miracle on 34th Street on DVD but haven't even watched them. I will be watching Christmas Vacation while at my DD's this weekend as that is tradition. (shitter's full
!!) And a must watch at least once is A Christmas Story.I am looking forward to Downton Abbey.
Between some college basketball & a half-full DVR, not much time for other things to watch.
-
Does anyone watch JUSTIFIED? If you haven't seen it, you can probably catch the first 3 seasons on Netflix. Season 2 was excellent. Ma Bennett was as crazy as some characters on BREAKING BAD. The new season Premiere is in January.
BIGGEST LOSER also comes back in January and Jillian is back this season.

I've been watching Top Chef: Seattle all these weeks and they are only about half way thru' now. What I don't care for this season: There were 3-4 chefs that had been contestants in past seasons, so it was their second time. That doesn't seem fair, does it? I mean, they would be somewhat used to the pace and the stress. However, a couple of the two-timers are out already. What I do care for this season: Love that it is in Seattle. I had just been there in June. One of the challenges was by the art museum in the Chihuly Garden of Glass. I was outside but didn't pay to go in there, just saw the larger glass sculptures from the perimeter of the garden, so now I got to see the rest on the show.
Too bad cancer is running (ruining!) my life again, because Bravo is hosting a Top Chef Cruise in April. That would be so fun to go on, but in reality I'll be lucky if I can enjoy fancy foods by then. I'll be happy with just being able to handle solid foods with no problem.
-
Hi everyone, Crashing this tread. I love Breaking Bad!! I watched all 4 seasons and the 1st half of the 5th season in less than a week on Netflix! From what I understand the second half of the 5th season can be purchased on iTunes for $1.99 or $2.99 per episdoe for those who would rather not wait. I'm pretty sure than means you would have to watch it on a computer though.
Miss Marybe. Merry Christmas!

BB is addicting, isn't it? I don't think anything on tv was or ever will be that good again. Just finished up Sons of Anarchy. It was good, but not BB. So many unlikeable characters, but there's a handful that make it worth watching. I really like that Katy Segal (sp?) sings in the soundtrack every once in a while. She has an amazing voice and I don't normally like female singers. Funny how you can immediately tell it's her...she sings with the same voice as her speaking voice. Kim Coates is from my neck of the woods, so it's cool to see him in such a popular show. So proud that a Canadian Prairie boy made it into the big leagues.
Just started on The Wire. Finished up on seasons 1 and 2 and I don't care for it. Think it might be all the cop lingo I don't understand, so giving up on that one.
-
Any Biggest Loser fans? It returns this Sunday night, 1/6/13. I have no idea why they think they can go up against the Good Wife and Revenge. I think the regular time will be on Mondays.
I also have a secret passion for Pretty Little Liars. It's probably geared toward teens, but, it's well written, and it keeps you guessing. Looking forward to the return of Justified too.
Blessings

This is a film but I have to tell you all how much I loved it! LesMiserables!!!! Wow wow wow. I am an old Musical Theatre geek but I found this extraordiarily good. If Ann Hathaway fits the rules for leading lady I think she deserves an Academy Award and Amanda ????? for Cosette was amazing, what a crystal clear voice. Just perfect for the part. I recommend seeing it in a theatre with the latest projection equipment and sound system. I saw it in a smaller theatre and will go see it again in a larger venue to get the full effect of the film.
Hah, I think I really liked it eh?
Ginger

Have any of you seen the HBO series call Shameless?Just finished the second season watched them all back to back.Quite different and amusing.
-
I just watched the new series MONDAY MORNINGS. I think I really like it. It compares to GREYS ANATOMY, but a bit more mature. Also, THE FOLLOWING with Kevin Bacon. I'm already hooked.
I'm disappointed they ended the season of PARENTHOOD early again, but they did that last year too.
What are you watching mid-season?
Blessings
Paula -
the American's on FX network is pretty good so far. I also love Nurse Jackie! Also can't wait for next season of American Horror Story.
