{{{{Chickadee}}}} I was just reading a StageIV thread to follow your experience with this "new" drug - dang, with all those SE's it's gotta work big time!  Bet you look as gorgeous without feathers as you do with'em.  And, they're gonna grow back more beautiful than ever.

I never had to deal with the beasty drug you're taking, but when stomach issues would happen for me, I usually found two choices:   pitted prunes, a little water, lemon juice in microwave for a minute for one problem, and good ole Immodium for the other.

Can you take EMEND for nausea with your protocol.  That was the best of all the ones I tried.

There seems to be something particularly evil about the schedule of this med: by the time you're starting to feel better, it's time for another infusion.  Whew - and manyother 4 letter words, also my favorite "phuque" which is a "fancyschmancy" 5 letters to serve the same purpose!

Chickadee, here's the poem, written to her husband during a recurrence of her lymphoma.  It's called "Coming Home":

Walking slowly out the jetty into the Pacific,

Wind flapping my straw hat's brim,

Lifting it dangerously off my forehead,

Threatening to whisk it off across the rocks,

I felt his hand catch it, just in time,

And press it down, securely.

It would not stay. I took it off,

And found the rim lined with tufts of hair

Caught in the weave.

Without a word, I showed him.

Without a word, our eyes met.

Was it wind that watered his?

Was it warmth I felt in the cool breeze?

We climbed down the rocks and sat by water's edge,

Scattering the sandpipers, my back to him,

My body between his legs spread wide.

He moved to shelter me from wind.

"Pull out my hair," I said. "It's ready."

His kiss on my thin shoulder lingering,

As though asking if I was sure.

I started him, pulling out my bangs--

"Like this," I said, "It doesn't hurt."

I opened my hand to the wind,

And watched it fly.

In a moment he started in

As gently as our first lovemaking,

A soft moan escaping.

"Maybe birds will find it for their nests," I said.

Four pulls more, and his despair replied,

"They don't deserve it."

Methodical, he was, as in everything,

The engineering mind.

He started at the nape of my neck,

Working back and forth up my skull,

His love expressed in thoroughness,

While I worked backwards from my forehead.

Seaborne coolness tingled my naked scalp.

Our hands met at my crown, and grasped.

"Are you cold?" he asked.

"No. It feels delicious. Free."

His lips pressed the back of my bare head

And entered my heart.

"You will be coming home," he said.

"I will bring you home" - a sea whisper

Of faith and strength transferred.

Linda that was so sensuous and lovely, thank you. I'm trying to look in the mirror but its hard. So I pulled a hat down snugly and I can look. The scar from a 12 year olds foolish sled run into a bench is front and center again. I had forgotten about that scar. I didn't duck enough. LOL.

What a beautiful poem.  I'm not supposed to cry at work - but when I read it, I did.

Blue - as always loved the pictures.  The horse was gorgeous - and Yorkie, the puffer fish - well, not gorgeous, but oh so cool to see.

Thank you all you sweethearts. I've pulled a hat down on my head for now.......I do NOT look Anne Hathaway Hot with no hair. Gonna take some getting used to.
