Pip, good luck. Hope all goes well with your sale. We ran into so many snafus that my husband isn't really going to believe it's sold until the final papers are signed on Monday. Of course, we also have to be out that day, so it's been very stressful. Among other things, the appraisal came in significantly below the asking price, so we had to compromise on price, we went down some, and they came up a little more than we went down, so hopefully we'll both walk away not too upset. I do have sellers remorse at times. I break out crying at the oddest things - and especially in the middle of the night. Hubby keeps telling me that the letrozole is causing anxiety as I've NEVER been like this before. We've moved from houses I loved and though I've cried, I haven't been an anxiety ridden basket case like I am this time. Of course, there has been a bit more stress in my life over the last two years with the cancer and all, so that may have just tipped me over the edge. At one point I told him that he should just check me into the closest mental hospital.
We have (we think) found a townhouse to move into (we should get approval today...). That is a REAL change for both of us. It seems like a nice place, but it is in a fairly crappy part of town. No long walks by myself there!!!! So we're going to move our treadmill into the living room.
We're both hoping that we don't find that we're living next door to drug dealers.... I keep telling myself that this is a temporary thing and that it was my idea to make this change - doesn't seem to help much - in fact it may make it worse... but movement is being made towards retirement, and that is our goal. This house and yard was just too big to keep up, it was exhausting both of us.Thanks for being there so I can vent somewhere other than just hubby - I think he's got enough on his plate without my constant meltdowns added in.
Chickadee - I'm in your bag with everyone else. I've been thinking of you all morning. Hoping for boring boring boring BORING CT.

GG -- Your hubby is right on! Increased anxiety is definitely a listed possible S/E of letrozole. Of course, there are very few possible S/Es that didn't make that list! And those of us who have received a BC diagnosis always have that little "niggle" about it that we try to suppress, which takes some energy.
I do feel for you about the changes you are making. I think that if I were having to make a decision about house selling and moving these days, I'd be in a major tizzy. As it is, with a DH several years older than I, picturing the "future" is much different than it was even 5 years ago. Letrozole, I'm sure, has contributed to my frequent "black dog" moments (hah, I mean hours!).
What a relief to be able to come here and share our thoughts. Yes, we're all different, but there is so much we understand about each other. Whew!
-
I'm in your bag with you today Chickadee - hoping for boring.
GG - my DH thinks I have started up with anxiety - I told him I'm just an obsessive compulsive perfectionist b%^&h. We've been in our first and only house for 34 years - I would hate to have to move. It only cost us $30,000 and is now worth at least a million. Unfortunately that money will be needed for retirement, so we will have to downsize eventually.
-
Yes Yorkie, I have power. This is the "snowquester" that wasn't - at least for us. I think some of the suburbs did get snow.
-
Suzie, this is our third house since we married 23 years ago, but my fifth and his fifth total. Each has been difficult. To be honest, most of the difficulty for me in this move is that the house is badly undervalued, so we are not making nearly what we would have had we sold a few years ago, or if we waited a few - and since it was my choice to move now instead of waiting, I'm feeling extremely panicky about the financial downside of this choice. It truly limits our future choices. We both want small in the future, but where we want to live will be affected as well - which is part of what has me in a tizzy.
-
I have about 4 inches of snow in NoVa. Power keeps flickering -- Dominion Power has about 19k people out of power in NoVa, but the snow is much heavier to the west. I-66 westbound was shut completely for several hours out in Fauquier County because a tractor-trailer jacknifed and completely blocked the road. It looked like a 53' trailer on the news.
-
Yikes, HL! Hope you hang on to power.

YEA!! Nurse just called. Head CT was boring! Still have a sore spot on back of my head but least it isn't as scary.
So until Monday when I have to start what is called an "evil" chemo, I'm pulling the covers up and hibernating.
You guys are the best. (((((((((HUGS))))))))))) -

Chickadee, yay for boring results (and so glad you got them quickly!). I echo Sandy's sentiments. A relaxing movie, foot rub, cuddly blanket and some tea or cocoa. Wishing you a peaceful and restful night.
Gardengumby, good luck with the moving. A very stressful time, for sure and the letrozole certainly can add to the anxiety and stress. I hope everything goes smoothly as possible for you and your hubby!
-
Stop, stop, stop, want to reach into my computer and scoop up those smushy faced little cuddles.
I'd come out from under the covers but a 20lb pug has me trapped. -
-
Cheers for your good news Chickadee!
-
boring is so great!!!! Chickadee!!!!
i've been packing all day and feel like i haven't made a dent. We got the townhouse but just found out that tv and internet don't seem to be available there - which never crossed my mind to inquire about. I'm still investigating, but will definitely not be happy if that's the case.
-
Chickadee - how nice they didn't make you wait all weekend for the results. Even better that is was extremely boring. What a relief. Big sigh for you.
