My guess is that Chico is a pug/beagle mix, and he got the beauty of both breeds!Blue, dress was stunning, so sorry you couldn't wear those fabulous red shoes. You hide your pain so well and I'm so happy to know that acupuncture is relieving some of it.Off for a little holiday -- talk to you later!
-
yorkie....he is Pug and Beagle. I would have to look it up, but if I recall correctly, Puggles ( Pugs and Beagles ) were bred as they were less apt to stir up allergic reactions. At the same time we got a Bishon-Poo which is in fact, Bishon and Poodle and they too are easier on people who might have allergy problems with pets. No one here has allergies. My dh just saw a picture of a Puggle and was determined that he just had to have one. Now there is some curly hair which we have to take off immediately after winter. Poncho....the Bichon-P will curl up so much that inbetween his toes puffs out and he looks to be walking around in those house shoes from a few years back that looked like boats on your feet. They are both pretty neat dogs though they are at times a tad grouchy since they are older now.

Yes- a puggle is a pug/beagle mix. Chico reminds me of my daughter's (now-ex) boyfriend's dog. Puggles are really cute.

Yikes .. I don't know why this pic is so big. These are my two babies! Isaac is 8 and Nicky will be 5 in two weeks. Isaac looks exactly like my son did at that age. They're at the beach with their cousin from North Carolina.
I'm so happy I get to go see them in San Diego in two weeks!
I'll see if I can find a picture of my Tank and Maggie.
hugs,
Bren

Cute, Bren!
Mary
-
Ah, that makes sense. What a little cutie! I'd love to have one. I bet they shed though. My yorkie does not shed but she has to be groomed. As with life in general, no dog is perfect, although some get pretty darn close!
-
That's so sad about Arlen Specter - thanks for the link, Kam.
-
They're darling Bin!
-
Bren, I've heard you talk about your grandkids, but I don't believe I've ever seen pictures of them! They are seriously cute.
Linda
-
I wanna know...did Issac eventually unbury Nicky? Nicky looks like a good sport!
Oh Linda....no amount of truth or fact checking will penetrate that force field! btw, I welcome anyone fact checking me. We on this thread attempt to use legitimate news sources. Ofcourse, in the bubble, any one of those true news sources is subject to be called a conspirator on behalf of the POTUS.
-
Well, well, well, I'll do absolutely anything ---- Republicans just hate fact-checking.
Ghost of Frederick Douglass Comes Out for Romney / Ryan 2012by John Viall Who
could ever have guessed? Here in Ohio, Frederick Douglass,
former slave, orator and statesman, has come out in favor of Governor Mitt
Romney in the coming election. Douglass has been dead since 1895; but that
couldn't stop him from rising from the grave to endorse Romney and the complete
Buckeye State GOP ticket. It's a surprising turn of events for several
reasons.First
of all, Douglass is...dead.Second,
the brochure handed out by a group calling itself "Women for Liberty"
(treasurer: Susan Holzapfel) says Douglass was for "private wealth creation"
whereas President Obama is working to "redistribute wealth." In other words,
Douglass would be for "individual freedom and success" if he was still living.
(That rat, Obama? He wants to "create a culture of dependency.")Yeah,
nothing like "private wealth creation," circa 1818, when Douglass was born. His
father, a white slave owner, got his mother, a slave, pregnant, and when mom
delivered, presto, we're talking wealth creation! Little Frederick is your
son/slave and you can "create wealth" if you put him up for sale! It's the 19th
century version of "trickle down" economics.//
//Well,
no wonder then that Deceased Douglass wants us to vote "Romney/Ryan 2012"
(although, come to think of it, would his ghost really have a picture ID?) No
culture of dependency for those slave owners, baby! No siree. You want your
cotton picked, you pick it yourself. Isn't that the way it worked on
every plantation before 1865?What
else would Douglass "like" about today's GOP? "Limited government." That's what
the group that put together this flyer wants us to believe. Yeah. Don't you hate
it when, in 1954, a few "activist judges" overturn all those great state laws
that denied blacks the right to sit in the front of the bus, enter restaurants,
go to the movie theater, get into college, ride in the same taxi or play
checkers with white folks?It
says right here on this brochure: Douglass would be for "school choice."Remember
in the last debate when Mitt insisted states can handle health care better than
the pushy federal government? No doubt the ghost of Frederick Douglass would
agree. Think back, for example, to the pushy federal government that forced
through the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which put the hurt on great states like
Alabama and Mississippi and Louisiana and required them to start letting
dark-skinned folks show up at the polls and vote. Damn the federal government,
sticking its nose in where it doesn't belong.HOLY
SHIT! Is there any way to read this brochure other than to see
it as a craven attempt by forces on the right to fool a few confused swing state
voters?Are
the women of "Women for Liberty" really so dense? What makes them think that
Frederick Douglass would support Mitt Romney when 98% of African-Americans today
do not? Do they know so little of our history that they can delude themselves
into imagining that Douglass, who fought for racial equality all his life, would
fail to notice the latent and blatant racism of right-wing types today? Ooooh,
the scary black guy, Barack Hussein Obama, doesn't have a birth
certificate! Ooooh, he doesn't think like a real American....Ooooh,
he's not really one of us.Come
on, right-wing knuckleheads. You're better than this. If you want to bring back
dead people to endorse Mitt Romney, bring back Joe McCarthy. He'd be for Romney,
for sure. And George Wallace. Now that's a dead American we know would like the
GOP today. And don't overlook Pitchfork Ben Tillman! What about Marie
Antoinette? She might not, technically, be a U. S. citizen, but she would love
the disdain your party has for the 47%.Susan
Holzapfel, do you really believe that a man who lived through an era when Jim
Crow laws were spreading like a plague -- and when blacks who stood up for their
rights were lynched by the hundreds -- would support all the new Voter ID laws,
designed with clear intent to disenfranchise as many minority voters as
possible? Are you so blind as to think a former slave would side with
billionaires and vote for a candidate who admits he doesn't care about people
who are down and out in American society? We
know right-wing types prefer to live in the past rather than face reality, and
we also know they're on the wrong side of history. Conservatives once stood with
emperors and kings. Conservatives once stood with slave owners. Conservatives
once insisted that only men should vote, then only white men, and now they hope
to amend state constitutions, and the U. S. Constitution if necessary, to insure
that gay Americans will never, ever marry. Oh, of course. The ghost of Frederick
Douglass would be for that.The
man who fought to see the 14th Amendment added to the U. S. Constitution
(guaranteeing equal protection to all citizens under state law), yeah,
he'd be on the side of hate, intolerance and bigotry if he were still alive
today.Sure,
"Women of Liberty." Sure he would.Idjuts is the word I'm looking for. Guess I will say it one more time.....not that the above Repulicans could benifit,
but no wonder the party looks like they often don't know you must look up to see the sky. Zowie.....I thought I'd seen everything
but a couple more of these just waltzed into my in-box. Poor souls........Must be horrible not to know your stupid, but then that
must be how they get away with it. _ Rominy" fits in so well with this crowd.

The #Sensata story is getting legs....
from DailyKos:
(please see the Kos article for greater detail)
The Sensata story has taken a life of it's own. It is all over twitter and slowly but surely working it's way into the mainstream media. Our friends on the right have caught wind of this and have not hesitated to go into spin mode/damage control. They are trying to distance Romney from this whole situation, because we all know Romney would never do anything like this despite getting filthy rich doing it. And like anything else that has ever gone wrong ever in the history of time, they are even trying to blame it on Obama. Of course, right?Below are facts about the Sensata scandal that you need to know.
1. Mitt Romney Still Owns $8 Million in Bain Funds That Holds 51% of Sansata Shares.2. Mitt Romney Will Profit from Sensata Being Outsourced.
3. Mitt Romney Does NOT Have a Blind Trust Agreement with Bain Capital.
4. Mitt Romney has Ignored Pleas from the Workers.
5. Bain Capital Has Donated to Obama, but Have Donated Far More to Romney. -
Rofl! Jackie, great post. You could not MAKE these idjuts up.
Off to see what Sensata is about....
-
Jackie-that was great!

Good article:
"The father of Christopher Stephens, the United States ambassador who was killed in the attack in Libya last month, said Saturday that it would be "abhorrent" for his son's death to be politicized in the presidential campaign.
In an interview with Bloomberg News, Jan Stevens said the attack on Benghazi and the ensuing investigation has no place in the upcoming election.
"The security matters are being adequately investigated," Stevens, who is getting briefings from the State Department on the investigation, said. "We don't pretend to be experts in security. It has to be objectively examined. That's where it belongs. It does not belong in the campaign arena."

Well I thought I'd seen it all - then I read Jackie's post - WTF - speechless!
-
-
Belinda, ROTFLMAO!
-
Excellent!
-
Wow ... catching up here and just saw gorgeous blue all dressed up for the wedding and Bren's cute grandkids too. I'm a big dog person but I would gladly take any puggle that wanted to wander my way ... so cute!
I liked that endorsement from NC ... a reasoned logical explanation of their choice. I agree with them. We are on the right track and need to stay on it.
We've had such wind here today I'm surprised that my house has not blown over to Ohio. Rain storm just went through so maybe it will settle down some now.
Hope everybody had a good weekend!
-
Sad day here. We just had the vet out to put down our chocolate lab AND one of our miniature horses.
Bren, love the grandkids. How many do you have now?
-
Belinda ... LOL. Would be even funnier if it weren't true.
And speaking of laughing ... has anybody/everybody seen Ryan's attempt at Glamour Shot pictures? Maybe he's trying to get on Jersey Shore when he loses the election?
ETA ... so sorry Pip ... it hurts so much to lose them (((hugs)))
-
Oh no, Pip!
-
Oh Pip how sad - sending a hug.
-
Pip....very sad news. So sorry!
-
Pip, I'm so sorry. Too much sadness for one day.
-
Pip - your chocolate lab.:( I'm so sorry.
-
Pip...I too am sorry to hear this news. It always hurts and your never ready.
Jackie
-
So so sorry PIP!
Bren, love those boys.

How Low Can You Go - Gallup Finds Unemployment And Underemployment Still Droppingby Nathaniel Downes
Despite
the Republicans' attempts to derail the economic recovery, it stubbornly refuses
to listen to their rhetoric. Gallup does its own surveys for
unemployment and underemployment, and it is finding even better news than the
Bureau of Labor Statistics reported last week.//
//Gallup's
survey found unemployment at 7.3%, down from its peak of 11.2%. It also found
that -- when counting underemployment -- the number is now down from its peak of
20.5% to a more manageable 16.4%.As
ever, the bad news for the GOP's hopes to use the economy as a weapon against
the president is good news for the American people.I couldn't let this go by and I too was OTFLMAO til' I thought I was going to lose my dinner. Amazing how funny something true can be isn't it ????
