    Good Morning Everyone,

    Blue you look so lovely.  That's a great picture of you.  I like your hair ... you're wearing longer than when I saw you last summer.

    I spent the day with Brenda and her family at the hospital yesterday.  She was doing better, until we overdid it.  We spent too much time at the Children's Hospital playground with her granddaughters and by the time we got back to her room, she was crying in tears from the pain.  They may let her leave tomorrow after she has her chemo.

    Glad the acupuncture is working somewhat - hate that you were in so much pain for so long - keeping everything crossed that it is the solution.

    Brenda - glad you were there for Naniam and so sorry that she's having such a bad time.  Good news that she'll be out of the hospital soon, she's lucky to have such a good friend.

    Thanks Sandy ... my emotions are all over the place.  I had such happiness at getting to meet her entire family yesterday.  We've been talking about them for years and I can finally put names to faces.  But it was a long drive home and I got really sad.  I miss her so much and feel so bad for her pain.

    I AM SO HAPPY YOU ARE SEEING AN ACUPUNCTURIST  - doing a HAPPY DANCE for you.  The effect is cumulative, my knees are jumpable now!  SO HAPPY you are getting some relief - honest, it really IS cumulative, and will get better AND better....YEAH, BLUE!!!!  gentle hugs ( in case you can't tell how happy I am for you to be seeing a good acupuncturistLaughing)

    Glad to hear about the acupuncturist and then REALLY happy after reading Sunflowers entry.  I'm not sure I've known anyone who actually used that therapy properly ( as in going back enough times )  so hearing cumulative attached to it gives it a real bounce up.  Happy acupuncturing for sure.  Hurry Tuesday.

    I just read an endorsement from North Carolina's Winston-Salem Journal for President Obama that I thought many here might enjoy.  I read that they haven't endorsed a Democrat for President since Lyndon Johnson in 1964.     Lewing - I'm glad it went well.

    As for movies? I almost never leave the house for one. The last one I went to see on the big screen was a Canadian documentary, "Pink Ribbon Inc." Quite good.

(AP) — Former U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter, the outspoken Pennsylvania centrist whose switch from Republican to Democrat ended a 30-year career in which he played a pivotal role in several Supreme Court nominations, died Sunday. He was 82.Specter, who announced in late August that he was battling cancer, died at his home in Philadelphia from complications of non-Hodgkins lymphoma, said his son Shanin. Over the years, Arlen Specter had fought two previous bouts with Hodgkin's disease, overcome a brain tumor and survived cardiac arrest following bypass surgery.
    RIP Senator Specter - you were one of the last Republicans that worked with the other side. Ousted by one of the new breed obstructionist Tea Partiers.....

    Sad news.  I hadn't heard the news that he'd been diagnosed with NHL after his previous bouts of Hodgkin's disease.

    It brings back memories of a dear friend who also battled both diseases, and who I've missed every day for the last ten years.

    Have I said lately how much I hate cancer?

    This one's tough for me. Even when he was a Republican I had a soft spot for Senator Specter, as a fellow lymphoma patient. He could also be extremely nice.

    Linda, I guess in some ways there are none so blind as those who are so afraid of the truth..............which will in one way or other set you free.  I have felt great sorrow for many there who are so into personally ripping apart our President that they don't want to know TRUE un-biased factual material.  It is sad for what seems like otherwise quite intelligent people to  squander the opportunity to rise above themselves and what looks like gross desperation to me and find TRUE facts and then present the best argument from the heart that they have.  But it just seems the continual one-upmanship of ..... get a load of this.........which in fact appears constantly seems to leave no room at all for one to use fact.  The rote of bashing behavior is non-stop and removes all aura of true intelligence which I know is there.    Being incapable of doing an honest assessment of something your candidate has done or perhaps omitted doesn't change it.  It will still be there for the world to see and all the rote recitals in the world, though it may make you feel good won't do much of nothing for your candidate since we are the ones seeing it.

    Blue, I'm a little late to the oooh & aaah party, but woman, you are a knockout!  Gorgeous dress, gorgeous woman!  I'm so sorry to hear that your back was hurting you so much, but glad to hear that acupuncture worked.  Fingers crossed for cumulative effect!

    Sorry to hear that Arlen Specter died.  I liked him for a long time, but was very angry with him at how he treated Anita Hill during the Clarence Thomas hearings, so I have mixed feelings about his career.  He did manage to work across the aisle most of the time, though.

    Stiff and sore from working in the yard today ... fitting end to our vacation!  I'll be walking like a cowboy tomorrow!
