Happy Holidays Michelle.
Happy Birthday Deb.

Have a great and safe trip, Michelle! Eric, enjoy the vacation. To everyone, much love, to our Canadian friends, Happy Thanksgiving.
-
Michelle- What a crazy day you had made me tired just reading it! But so glad you are able to do the trial what a great thing to hear after a long, long day. Don't know how you managed to stay out until 2am LOL! But wished you had a video of that esp the duo with DD. haha! Have a wonderful time on your trip to Hawaii relaxing, reading and drinking all those yummy hawaiian drinks!
Joyce- I hope it is like Michelle said,' Much ado about nothing" Will be waiting for word on that and thinking of you Monday. Have a nice time with your DF I am sure she finds much comfort with you as her friend.
Carole- YUmm on the bean soup I copy/pasted it to make soon.
Tazzy- Is it Thanks-giving there now? Is so Happy Thanks-givng!!
Deb- Hope your Mri comes out fine and again have a very Happy Birthday!
-
I'm in the car...I guess since it's not texting, it's OK. :-)
Actually Sharon is driving for a little bit, so I'm not having to pay attention to the road.
Happy birthday Deb.
Michelle...stability..... YES!
And Joyce...again, thinking of you and like was mentioned earlier..that it's all just much ado about nothing....
Eric -
forgot to say thanks..........
We're at the Inn at Castle Rock....a bed and breakfast in Bisbee, AZ. It's a neat place and they have a web site showing it off. So, I won't be cooking, although I could as they do have a good sized guest kitchen.
-
OK Eric - I did just google it. Isn't Bisbee old mining town? Had a pt who had lived there she declared it "ghost town". Guess not! Looks deee-lightful. You and Sharon enjoy. Did your daughter go too or maybe not???
Joyce - I have neglected to wish you the most uneventful test results on Monday.
Deb - Same wishes for you, too. Sorry you had lab work for your birthday present.
COLD brrrr here in North Texas 52 degrees. Looks like spits of rain moving in. Bought (I know should make from scratch) a soup mix Chicken Enchlilada and then a Minestrone. That's all the cooking I'm up to until leave this darn job in November. Have couple bagged chicken breasts thawing and have 3 need to be used up orange/red bell peppers. See them going in which ever one I make.
On another thread someone (and might even be someone on here as well) was making mass chicken pot pies for church social or to sell at bazaar. Sounded soooo good. Anyone have a good recipe? I know the gravy makes it and the crust, but I don't do pie crust. Bought will have to do but sounds so good in this cool weather.
Hope everyone is having a stress free Saturday. Went to WalMart and Albertsons this am and have been dozing on couch watching NASCAR truck race and now TCU football. Dark out and its only 5:55. I love fall even though we get about oh maybe 2-3 minutes of it. Summer, winter, spring tornados/storms. Fall seems so short. Hugs to all.

I think every place in town says they have 2 or 3 ghosts in residence. So, they may have meant ghost town from the number of ghosts haunting the place..rather than the town being dead.
After the copper mines closed, the town did kind of die. It's now been reborn as a tourist place and is doing quite well.
Chrissy is with us. -

Happy Birthday Deborey!! Good thoughts for great results!
Still thinking of you Joyce. Sending you positive thoughts and vibes for Monday.
Have a great vacation Eric and Michelle! I am so glad to hear your good news. Now you can really enjoy your trip. Happy for your good news as well, Bedo.
Made jambalaya for dinner and some squash and leek soup. Yum! It turned cold here tonight as well. Was a good cold weather dinner. Have a great rest of the weekend everyone! -
Ok, I haven't eaten at Noodles in about four years. So explain to me why I craved it twice this week? With leftovers that means I ate four meals this week. AND I am actually thinking of going there again! I think they are overpriced, and the meat servings are small for the extra charge. And STILL I want to go again. What mineral am I missing that makes me crave it? Very WIERD. LOL
-
Bon Voyage, Michelle and Rick!!

Went to Piggly Wiggly to go grocery shopping. They had samples of fresh polish sausage today. It reminded me of the ones my uncle made, so good. I bought some and made them for dinner. Yum. Had it with the bean casserole. Very hood.
My DH had to do one thing before he left for the week, though. He had to try starting the snowblower! LOL because it snowed when he went to his folks on Saturday in Plainfield, WI. So just in case, LOL NOOOOOOO! LOL -
Tonight was my first pressure cooker meal. It is Indian Curry month in my cookbook group. So I made one of my favorite lentil dishes, Dal Makhani, and then Aloo Chaas, to which I added peas. Served with Basmati rice. The lentils aren't as good as the ones I have had in restaurants but still quite good. The potatoes were a home run!

a 1957 truck.. now that's specia!. - have a great time Eric and family. Happy birthday Deb.. may everyone feel good and congrats on stabilities.
-
Fresh polish sausage! Lucky you, Moonflower! My polish SIL (now deceased at a young age) who lived in IL gave me her recipe for sauerkraut with fresh polish sausage. We have an abundance of fresh Italian sausage here in south Louisiana but not fresh polish sausage.
We're having delightful fall weather which is rare in early Oct. We're usually still hot and sticky this time of year. Slept with window in the bedroom open last night. No need for a snow blower, though!
Susan, your dishes sounded intriguing. Recipes?
-
Since these are copywritten recipes, I can't copy them verbatim, but others have!
The potato recipe: http://www.hampdenparkcoop.com/node/396 . This adaptation reduces the amount of chiles to 1 while I used four. And as you can see, I added peas. I wanted something green and Indian dishes seem to pair potatoes with peas regularly.
http://www.cookingwithsiri.com/2010/07/makhani-dal-whole-black-lentils-with.html is the lentil dish. I wanted a more complex flavor, so I am going to fool around with adding some well-browned onions and perhaps a bit of tomato.
Both dishes are traditionally paired with bread or rice.

Moonflwr Oh no on the snow... Our temps dipped to the 30's last night...chance of frost but dont think we got any.
Susan meal looks yummy I love indian food but my DH not so much, so I do not experiment with it.
Watching football yesterday and have to have a little rant....how much do you think the teams spend on changing over to the pink sneakers, wrist bands, gloves, basically pink everything? Although I think the show of support is amazing wouldnt it be better to donate that money to research? Or programs for people that cant afford medical care? OK I am done.
Had simple spaghetti with meat sauce last night with a green salad, would have loved to add bread, but trying to cut it out of diet. (somewhat)
-
carberry - i think they auction off all the pink items and donate that money to charity, so maybe it all comes out in the end. I dunno, I personally think they look stupid in pink shoes and wristbands, but each to their own.
I cooked a bunch yesterday so I wouldn't have to cook much for the rest of the week.
Made braised lamb with squash and onion sauce, a meatloaf and a salmon, onion and mushroom quiche. My hubby also barbecued up a bunch of sausage, so we're set in the main dish/meat department, and I'll only have to make salads and vegies for the rest of the week.
-
Yesterday for dinner - Turkey and all the trimmings at friends.
Today for dinner - Turkey and all the trimmings at other friends.
-
Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian friends! The day had slipped up on me.

Yesterday, the forty-something guys in our beach association provided a sumptuous lobster bake for 65 people. The steamers, king crab legs, lobster and corn were so delish! I love seeing guys feed a crowd in such an organized way. It was great!
Then we all headed over to a neighbor's "barn" (actually a newly constructed giant sports room built by the neighbor and his sons) to watch the Patriots and play beer pong.....okay this is how old I am...it was my initiation to the game. When I went to college people didn't play drinking games....just drank! DS2 chuckled at his old parents having a college kids' style day.
Today thawing out any foods in the freezer to clean out the fridge, since we will close the place up for the winter, and head home. -
Happy Thanksgiving to our girlfriends in Canada!
Tazzy, I've never had two turkey days in a row....maybe lots of naps after all that tryptophan! -
-
I was trying to post some pics I had placed on Facebook, but was not successful. Is there an easy way to copy and paste to here from my Facebook page? I'm sure this was answered before, but I'd appreciate hearing it again. Thanks! Also, I am trying to do this from my IPAD, which could be the problem.
-
Tazzy, sounds like you may be moving rather slowly for a bit! LOL! Yum. Happy Thanksgiving!
My DD will be doing Thanksgiving this year. First time I will not be hosting it. Should be interesting.
Lacey, sounds like a fun night! Have fun cleaning out the fridge, should be SN interesting lunch, ie, cod, two meatballs, a hot dog and some freezer burned green beans! LOL! -
Joyce- Have you heard any news yet on your appointment today? Thinking about you, hope everything went good!
Tazzy- Happy Thanksgiving, can't wait to have my turkey and all the trimmings!
Lacey- The Lobster bake sounds sooo very good! Sorry can't help with pictures I have a problem with it too.
Carrie- I agree, it should all go to research but like Garden said it all ends up there or at least I hope, wonder how much of it does though!
Bet Michelle is in Hawaii by now I know last night she was in anaheim if she flew out early she would be there by now sipping on her mai-tai's!
-
It is a fact of life that it costs money to raise money. Someone has to pay for the posters, handouts, etc. But administrative costs should be a small percentage of the funds raised. I've often seen 10 t0 20% cited as reasonable. Even so I prefer to give my money directly to the activity I'm supporting, i.e., the research institute, the group helping the patients and so forth.
-
Joyce- Thanks for checking in and letting us know. Please keep us posted when you hear something. Sending good thoughts and prayers. Oh, I guess Michelle is not in Hawaii yet then? When does she actually fly there from CA? Hopeing you are able to go to Florida as planned this Friday!
Deb- good thoughts and prayers for you too for tomorrow!
Making Chicken cacciatore in the crock pot, first browned the chicken in pan with flour then in to the spa! (Racheal Ray talk) ha!
Chabba- I always ask before i donate. At Safeway they ask when we have change coming back if we would like to donate it to BC. I always say yes, but I need to check how much of that change always go there. It makes me leary of those kinds of things.
-
Joyce Here's to great news tomorrow..thinking of you. Please let us know.
This morning they were showcasing on TV products that support BC and some of them stated that 100% went to the cause while others stated 10-20% went to the cause. I guess any amt is better than nothing.
Tazzy Happy Thanksgiving. I could eat turkey at least five day in a row and we sometimes do, not the full meal though just the leftovers.
tonight will be marinated boneless pork chops on the grill, with butternut squash and rice. Oh and about the stuffed meatloaf my friend made..it was yummy, stuffed with pepperoni and moz cheese with a tomato sauce on top. Not sure of the meat mixture though and he wouldnt say.
