The profile page is. very interesting. We now know that the developer is jake sutton in boulder co. He is using his personal directory structure for this project.
And it appears that he isnt using a testing environment such as cucumber and Rspec.

Now everything is bright white! My left hand column is bright white! There is a faint blue line separating the response area from the LH column. Grrrrrrr.....

I don't see any change with active topics. I see 5 topics per page only. Is that the change? Going from 4 topics per page to 5 topics per page? Just wondering....
-
jancie..There are 12 Topics per page on the Active Topics
-
I am happy to see BCO's response to user feedback, but the tighter spacing on Active Topics (an idea I supported) just makes that page look terribly jumbled to me. It's probably a combination of the colors + fonts, but even tightened up, it's still impossible to quickly scan these pages, as I could with the previous layout.
The color scheme is better, but I still have a lot of uncomfortable, eye strain causing glare -- probably b'cuz there is so much empty space both within the threads and to the left. Deanna

Please don't slam me but this is what I suggest
Forum Name--bump up a point or two
Topic - take down a point or two.
I actually think the Forum name should carry more 'weight' than the topic. All I can see at first glance are the topics and not the forum name from where topic came.
-
Sheila888 - I guess we are looking at two different schemes! I only have 5 topics per page on Active Topics. And I rebooted my computer today.
-
It is 9 pm central mountain time - rebooted AGAIN for the 2nd time today and I am not seeing any changes at all to Active Topics. The only change from yesterday is now the pale gray on the LH side is gone and is blaring white along with this screen I am typing in. I have 5 active topics per page.
Windows 7 Home Edition - IE9

jancie...I made a mistake Active Topics have 11 pages
And more than 12 on each page......almost double what I reported before.....
Hmmm
Edited to ask..How many pages do you have all together?
-
My profile page in just a jumble of words too.
-
Final count 31 Topics on each page....
-
Sheila888 - Ok, I have 12 pages of Active Topics. I guess what I was trying to say is that I can only see 5 topics on my screen at a time before I have to scroll. Does that make sense? Maybe I should be using my page down button? I will go try to see if it works.
-
Makes a huge difference using the page down feature. I still only see 5 topics per screen but it is less scrolling. The trick is to make sure that you are lined up at the end of a heading on the first page and then page down or you end up seeing half the topic on the previous page and half on the current page. Is any of this making sense? I feel like I am going in circles over here!
-
Looking at the Active Topics page - why have all of the blank space on the right as well as the left?? Couldn't you condense it down to 2 lines per post as opposed to 3, then you would fit a lot more on the page. Same for each forum list - too much wasted space on the right.
-
Question re. My Favorite Topics... Why does each line now start with the name of the most recent poster, rather than the topic name? When I open that list, I'm looking for topics to read or post in. Having a screen name first seems very confusing, at least to me. Deanna
-
I never knew I had a 'page up', 'page down' on the keyboard.
-
This is not new however, I've noticed spammers seem to often post on the 'Not Diagnosed but Worried' forum.
-
Thanks for making changes. This seems to be easier on my eyes.
I still prefer the table format for Active Topics, but since it doesn't seem like that's returning, I think it would be a big improvement to reverse the font sizes of the Forum Name and the Topic Name. My eye still picks up the Topic Name and my brain isn't registering the Forum Name without conscious concentration to do so. I think this contributes to problem posting in areas such as Stage IV and Living Without Reconstruction After Mastectomy.
-
It has been mentioned numerous times about having Active Topics put in a table format like it used to be.
I think I now know the reason why my eyes are hurting so dang bad after only being on here for 5 minutes...
When looking at Active Topics I am trying to focus just on the name of the thread itself in pink. So as I scroll I my eyes are trying to block out all of the other stuff and just focus on everything pink. I have always looked at the name of the thread first before looking at the forum name. If the thread title interested me I would then look at the forum name and make sure I wasn't going to post in Stage IV or some other forum that really doesn't pertain to me.
So by having it in table format you don't have to focus your eyes in such a manner and you just read normally instead of "blocking out" other information. Basically we have to now scroll with our eyes.

I am so low-tech, all I can do is log in. Posted a topic yest., saw a reply, but now I don't know how to get back to my topic.
-
survivor, I sent you a Private Message.
-
survivor2012, clicking on the Dashboard will show you links to your Recent Topics and Recent Posts (among other things), so you can find them again.
-
I agree that a table format is MUCh easier in Active Topics. Earlier, in the first 10 threads, 8 were stage IV, where I don't want to and shouldn't be posting... it is easier to avoid the stage IV thread for example if it isn't co-mingled with all the threads. Its best to have a table to click on the forum you want and see what is active inside that forum.
-
I have checked the remember me but I have to now log in each time. This just started last night. Thanks.
-
I have noticed that since that last fix up and upgrade the speed of the site has dropped markedly. I love what you have done with the color! Thank you for listening to us.
-
Active Topics..........Scroll, Scroll, Scroll. And just like Janice said...and I have said as well, many times, it's not just the poor finger that hurts from all the scrolling...but the eyes as well.
Tweaking the colors and fonts....That's all well and said.....But are you ever going to address finding a format where you don't have to do all of this scrolling????!!!!

Thanks for the comments, we are passing them on!The Mods

Mods... I know you pass the comments along....and....?
-
I'd like to get rid of the left side bar.
I'd like the pages to refresh.
-
As you can tell, since the initial launch of the new format in early May there have been a number of significant changes, based your input. Thank you for all the suggestions and comments. We appreciate the suggestions, and continue to assess all of them and are continuing to improve the boards.
