I got your PM, Marple.
[Deleted my comment about misdirection of "Recent Post" links because it was redundant. I do think I was able to go directly to a specific member's "Recent Post," though -- rather than the opening post or the last one I read -- prior to the format change. Doesn't work that way anymore, though.]

Bullets don't work either.
-
sometimes when I go my my favorites and opena thread it takes me to the bottom of the thread, not where I left off reading...it is hard for me to remember were I left off
-
Susan I wouldn't mind if it brought me to the page where the post was located like the old fourm. It does not. It brings me to the very 1st page in the thread or, if I've visted the thread before it brings me to the page I last visited (usually the last).
-
Mine currently does what lago's does: opening post if it's a thread I've never visited, or the last post I read on that thread if it's a thread I've been following. It should take me to the post made by the person who's "Recent Post" link I've clicked. I am 95% sure that's what it used to do.
Why does the bold-faced font setting work, but italics doesn't (don't?)? Italics worked earlier this week. I guess we need to use *asterisks*, like on FB.

A few updates (and a test of bullets):
- Top/Bottom for Macs: If you don't have working Top/Bottom arrows, the Mac equivalent of Home and End keys is Command plus the Up or Down cursor key. Please don't hate it for being a work-around while we try to get the arrows working for everyone.
- LuvRVing: What error message do you see when you try to upload a new picture?
- voraciousreader and her sore digit: We continue to look at improvements!
- About PMs: If you reply to a PM that another member initiated, that doesn't have to go through their Profile page, or having to add them to your Fave Members.
- Quote button: We're not looking at adding that new function at this time.
::: adding "bullets don't work" to the list :::
(Edited to add the results of the bullets test.) -
Hmmmm... I swear it used to always do that for me. I remember having to note the "date" if I wanted to find the specific post so I could get in the ballpark.
"voracious reader and her sore digit"

Mods...My pointer wants me to say, "Thank you!"
-
Mods - the message is "is not included in the list" for any picture I have tried taken after the upgrade.
-
bdavis "Bullets don't work either."
Cracking up here, because my initial reaction was that you were making a joke about shooting the monitor, and dryly reporting that that didn't solve the problem, either. I snerked and went on, only to realize you were talking about bullet-point lists when the mod responded. Ay-yi-yi, I'm going to blame chemo brain for that one.

Ladies please someone help me.
I can't stay logged in...even after checking the box
Any suggestions......
Thank You
-
LuvRVing, that sounds as though your new avatar is in a file format that's not supported (like .tiff or .bmp, .pdf and so on). Can you save your new avatar as a .jpg and try it that way?
sheila888, checking on the staying-logged-in situation!
riley702, we're willing to believe that some might have resorted to bullets too!

Here is a problem I have on my android phone but not on my windows IExplorer desktop:
When I am in a forum, like this one, and I want to refresh the thread by pressing on the thread name, or go to the forum, I can't - on my mobile, both forum an thread are not linkies. I have to go to the previous screen. Rather onerous.
Also, on Windowns desktop, clicking "Back to top" still has no effect. "Jump to Bottom" works fine.
Mods, my previous beef was with your rather cavalier attitude, but I do appreciate the updates and the thawing atmosphere generally. I also notice that forum titles are more prominent in "Active Topics" so mis-postings to Stage IVmay be less likely. We shell see.
-
Riley.. I should have put my notation in sentence form.. sorry to confuse you...
Mods.. is there an explanation for the problem with clicking on someone else's posts an dit not taking you to their post, but rather to the top of the thread?? I know it used to work.
-
bdavis, sorry we don't have an answer on that for you right now, but the question and reports about what's happening have been added to the technical queue.
-
Thank you.
-
Mods - these are most definitely .jpg files taken with a Canon SX40 and transferred directly from the storage card to my Picture Library on my hard drive. The resolution is 4000 x 2248. And the file size is 1.99 mb. I have posted them in a Blogger blog with no problems. They load into Picasaweb just fine.
-
-
LuvRVing, aha! Looks like it could be a file size thing.
From the site Help info: "We ask that you keep your images relatively small. As a rule, please do not exceed 125 x 300 pixels and/or 35kb for your avatar image."
-
Well, my current avatar came from a 1.08 mb file. I'll try downsizing the picture and see if it will load.
Edited to add: Smaller size worked. I never read that Help section because I never had a problem with any prior picture. Perhaps there is now a hard-coded upper limit for avatar sizes.
-
Mods, it probably seems like a royal PITA to have to come back here and tell us what you're doing in response to our reports, but I sure do appreciate the feedback. Thanks!

I agree with Otter. Thanks Mods. Granted I don't need updates, I'll watch for them.
BTW everyone remember some of these changes take time to figure out. The coders don't want to fix one thing then create a new problem. It can get tricky.
-
One thing I have noticed:
At least once a day, on my Breast Implant Sizing 101 thread, I need to refer back to a post someone made to the thread days or even weeks earlier, in order to refresh my memory about their statistics or status. So with the old format, I would click on their name, see a list of their posts, and find the one I needed. That click would take me back to the page of that older post. But with the new format, this does not work, and clicking on an older post only takes me right back to the current and most recent post to the thread. It never takes me to the post made by that individual. Is this something which can be fixed? I hope.....
Thank you moderators!

whippetmom, while we're hoping for a solution for having this work from within the profile, there is a sort of work-around that can help. (Again everyone, please don't hurt us 'cause it's not a full solution yet!)
Instead of clicking on the profile of the member whose posts you want to find, look for them under Search, typing their name into the Search by Member Name field. You can also add keyword(s) in the appropriate field to further narrow the search, and choose the Category/Forum and time period too.
The results when you click Search show more text AND when you click on the one/s you want to check, will take you right to the specific post on the page. Sounds like a more labor-intensive process, but it really does work well. Give it a try!
-
Mods, is using "Search" instead of looking at the profile a temporary solution in order for us to see someone's posting history? Or will we NOT be able to see the entire content of member's latest posts anymore like we did on their profile page before the change? I know I am a minority but I get a lot of PM's from those I don't know at all. So being able to see what they have posted lately is crucial to me. Not some text but the entire content of the latest few posts.
-
nowheregirl, we don't yet know what the end result will be, and just posted this work-around (not a new thing; it's been there all along) as a way to find the info. Search will show you all of a member's posts, but you will have to click on each to see the full text.
-
Hi Mods,
I don't mind clicking to read a full post, it's just that it doesn't take you to the post -- you have to find it (but you can look at the time it was posted by the link to help...). I really liked being able to just read the post, but could the link take you to actual post instead? Otherwise, i'm getting along fine on new site. Thanks for all your hard work!

Hi Mods, just tried to copy/paste but was unable to. I was asked by a non stage IV member to pass on some info and wanted to copy/paste what she had written rather than have to retype it but had no luck in doining that either by having a second window open nor from one thread to another.
I run Windows XP and have down loaded and now use chrome so I use a lot of the new bits that would not work in IE8.
Thanks. Chrissy

Adding these to our list of the day
