Roadrunner checking in
Friday check-in = 3 points
Weight 177.0 (down from last week) = 2 points
New E-LAB low = 1 point
Exercise = 14 points
Daily H2O = 7 points
Extra credit = 1 point - dropped a pants size! Yee haa! I love putting on my slacks and they're too big. Don't really want to buy new clothes because I intend to reduce some more. But I'm going to need a few items for an interim wardrobe. This should be a reward but I hate shopping. I can get my favorite old pair of jeans on but I can't zip them up yet. YET!
Total = 28 points

Congrats, Badger!
Roadrunner checking in
3 pts for Friday check in - about time I made it here on a Friday!
7 pts for water - although I did drink too much soda this week - usually only do one - this week did two
Let's see - exercise? What's that? Been in a slump, dump, lump lately. Don't know if it's still depression or the blah I get on the meds. Could be either. I just can't seem to get off the couch. 0 pts, as far as I remember.
0 pts for weight. I'm figuring out the new scale. Shouldn't be rocket science.
I'm doing my best to dig myself out of this pit. I feel so much better when I exercise, you would think that I would want to go everyday. Instead, I'm watching too much TV (something I rarely do, otherwise), reading obsessively, and avoiding, avoiding, avoiding. If there's an excuse for not doing it, I'm not doing it. I'm not completely stalled, but I'm not nearly where I usually am energy-wise.
-
Checking in but didn't weigh. Been pretty good on my diet this week, but most of all, better on fluid intake. Dr. says that could be my plumbing problem so I am gonna try and fix it.
Had a late day at work and trying to get ready for a trip so Dh went for burgers. The whole time he was gone, I was pedaling on the bike. Got to head off a few of those calories!
-
hey ladies, let's send prayers and positive energy down to Florida for patoo. She's in a 5K at Disney today. You go girl!
Elaine, IMHO you're doing more than you're giving yourself credit for. I know I sound like a broken record about a five-dollar pedometer but it's good in so many ways. It's a place to start for a tiny bit of time and money. Just clip it to your waistband or pocket at the start of the day. You'll be amazed when you see how much you really walk in a day. That in itself is motivating and can help stop the cycle of negative energy. Then you'll feel better and want to do better..
I'm at 176.0 this morning! Aiming for 175 on Friday. ((hugs)) to all you birdies out there!
-
Well, forgot to check in yesterday!
So,
Maintaining from prior week = 1 point
Exercising = 6 points
Missed the Friday Check-in = 0 points
Meeting daily water intake = 5 points
"Extra Credit" points = 1 for getting to a yoga class! Trying to break out of the non-activity cycle!
Total: 13 points, not better than last week, but only 'cuz I missed the check-in. DID meet goal of 3 extra activity points!
-
OK - I'm at 210 according to the scale. I'm going to shoot for 209 by next Friday, and we'll see. I did get some stuff done today - it's not just exercise I'm not getting done. Today, my oldest came over and helped me get some stuff into the attic, which I've needed to do for a month. And I also worked on two pieces for an Austin show - just a give-away fundraiser, but I needed to get them done. Almost done on those. So that's progress. I'd get the itch to make something, but everytime I went into my studio I just saw this stuff piled up and couldn't get past it to actually do something. So now I'm unblocked, somewhat. That fung shei stuff (sp?) does have an impact on me, I guess.
-
hey Elaine, I was going to mention this before- I weighed 200 when I finished chemo in June of 2010. I stepped on the scale and said OMG this is a wake-up call I have to do something. That was 20 months ago, so I've lost 24 pounds in 20 months by exercising every day, drinking lots of water, and making good nutritional choices.
I'm eating better: higher quality food, mostly organic. Avoiding foods high on the glycemic index so no white sugar, white flour, white rice, or white potatoes. Costs more per item but I'm eating less so spending the same on food each week.
Been cleaning house myself and finding it's so much more restful to be at home without all the stuff. Shredded a ton of paper, moved furniture, made for a clear flow through the living room. Is that the fung shui?
-
Ah, yes - the white stuff. I'm a slave to the stuff - white rice, white sugar, potatoes - I can't do wheat flour, so that's not a problem, but the rest is. I know it's not good for me, but but but! My key is moderation rather than deprivation. Can't give it up, but can cut down a lot.
-
Zogo, I'm a Robin and I'm still here.......just been sick and didn't get on at all for a few days.
Good news is I was down 3 pounds! Amazing what you can do when you don't eat because you're sleeping all the time!
Of course that means no water and exercize and I missed check in..............I'll try to get there this week.
-
Hope you are feeling better, bcincolorado.
You are doing good, bookart. You are getting very close to your ELab low!
When I was going through chemo I got down to 123. My end of chemo weight was around 138, so you can see hoe far I went in the wrong direction.
-
Hello, I'm back! I've missed everyone. Gained a lot of weight so I need to get back to ELAB and the Robins. I'll check in on Friday, not promising a weight, I'm too afraid to get on the scale but I'll try to be brave.
-
Welcome back, Suz.
My FDIL told me my scale was mean the other day. She said she was 3 lbs heavier at my house! Sometimes I feel like it is mean, too.
-
I think your FDIL is correct. I think ALL scales are MEAN!
-
Well, right now mine is definitely NOT my friend.
-

Badger, congrats on a new elab low!
bcincolorado, glad to have a flock member keep me company!
Today my scale is being mean...but, I will not waste the time being upset about it. Today is a new day. My February is always tough with birthdays (mine included) and this year DH and I actually had an anniversary Feb 29th. It is a rare event and I made a sugar free almond chocolate mousse pie to celebrate. Oh, I'm sure I got a whole extra piece licking all the bowls while making it.

Hello Suz - nice to see you back again.
NM - Hope you are feeling better now - DS and DH have asthma but no bad attacks lately.
Zogo - happy birthday and leap anniversary!!
Hohum - I start every day with great intentions but I rarely get past noon without breaking out. I did so well for such a long while - but I just can't seem to tap into that mindset again. My day seems to be taken up with getting to work then working for 9.5 hours and then getting home - haven't time to plan food or exercise. But I really need to lose at least 20lbs before my next surgery in the summer so I have to do something!!
-

I've gained a couple of pounds again, so I am going to get serious again.
I get a point for allowing FDIL to come over and be my trainer once a week. Last night she came over and got me started. We walked a coule of miles, fast carrying hand weights, then she showed me a dozen different exercises. I thought I would be sorer tis morning, but really the only thing that hurts is my hip with the bursitis. FDIL is a real task master, but I want a waistline by the time they get married so I will try to be a good student.
I have been trying to up my water intake as well.
I'm like you, Suz. I don't look forward to getting on the mean scale.
