Nancy! You don't know how excited I was to see your post! North of Bakersfield girl here. You are about 80 minutes from here! We got no rain this weekend at all until about 3:45 this morning. My electronic rain gauge isn't working so I will be relying on my little glass tube one.
Saturday we were out shopping and it was tshirt, jeans, and sandals...comfortably.
-
Well, in Mississippi, we go from 32 one day to 72 the next! Never know what it will be. Rain last night; sunshine today and up to 65. That usually means a very hot summer.
-
I hope that's not what it means for us.
We are unseasonably dry and warm here.
-
33 degrees with freezing drizzle predicted for this afternoon/evening. Lovely. Glad I don't have to go out today!
-
It rained off and on all day here. But at least our 61 day streak without rain has been broken.
-
Up to 46, foggy, all the snow melting. Make up your mind, Mother Nature!
-
So strange had a rainy weekend no more snow left.Mildest canadian winter yet.
-
Do the weather guessers have any reason for this wierd weather?
El nino?
- Global Warming?
- The coming ice age?
- Birds drinking all the water while they were flying South for the Winter?
-
Meese,
Their guess is as good as yours. I think its the birds.
52 degrees here in the No. East. Spring like. very unusual...............I'll take it!
-
It was overcast yesterday, but definitely pleasant. I'd love a bit more rain.
-
36.6 degrees, windy with a cold front moving in. Most of the snow has melted, now all the puddles will freeze. Yuck.
-
If I didn't know better, I would have said yesterday was a May day. We need more rain!
-
29.8 degrees right now. Not going to get much higher, but still above the ususal for January. Another storm comeing in, they can't tell if it will be snow, rain, or a mix. Of course, it's on Friday since I go on call at 4 pm Friday. Gotta love Maine winters!
-
Snowed a few inches during the night, the rain has turned it all to slush. Snow storm forecast for tonight and tomorrow and then back up to the 40's on Monday. This is the strangest WNY weather I have ever experienced. We are 35 inches of snow below what we normally have in a normal winter.
-
karen333,
I hear ya. I don't live quite as north as you but this morning it is 48 degrees. going up to 58 in Jan. Get out the tank tops and flip flops..............................................
-
28.6 degrees, snowing steadily, not sure if it will turn to rain later here or not.
-
Our 10-day forecast is showing mid to high 60s into the 70s with no chance of rain. Great if we were planning an outdoor event soon, but I'm sure the farmers around here are sweating it.
-
The sun just broke through the clouds after the rain we got yesterday afternoon and last night. They are calling for additional scattered showers today but I think the front has finally gone through.
Sheila
-
Temps up to 32.0 degrees, the snow is starting to tick when it hits the windows, meaning it's changing over to sleet. Yuck.
-
10 am, our normal temp at this time of year is in the 50's. It is now 28 degrees and the sun is shining.
-
It's snowing here, Monday back to the 40's, so strange.
-
37.9, raining and turning into ice on everything. YUCK.
-
Nancy, DH and I decided to get out of town yesterday and headed to your neck of the woods. We decided to go down to the 126, stopped at Piru and tasted honey and stopped at several of the fruit stands. The sky was perfectly blue without a single cloud in sight and the sun was warm and pleasant around 73 degrees. We went over to Oxnard and enjoyed a walk around the harbor. It was so nice.
Today was another beautiful day in the high 60s.
-
It was 48 today in Western New York, in February!!!!
-
I remember the winter of 1987 or 88. NO snow. I'm hoping for a repeat. 62 in the no east. Spring time(NY met.area)
-
The honey tasting wasn't what I expected. I thought it would be like wine tasting. You go into the building and you are in a shop. There is bee and honey related products of all kinds and lots of honey in little jars to buckets. There is a display counter with pump jars of each of the honey's. You take a spoon and pump honey onto it to taste. They have maybe 11-12 flavors, and the flavors are natural...eucalyptus, clover, tropical flower, wild flower, sage, cactus etc... It is cheaper to buy their honey at the shop rather than the fruit stands, by about a dollar or more per small jar. We were very surprised at how many people came into the shop while we were there, about 45 minutes. The owner came over to me and we talked honey bees for about 30 minutes. There is a display hive in the shop, but it is behind glass and well sealed not to mention fascinating!
I like going to The Loose Caboose. They have done a lot of clean-up in recent months. We are taking my parents on the mystery train next month for their Christmas gift. My 81 yr old Dad is a big train buff so we thought it would be a memorable gift.
Still no chance of rain but the fog set in again yesterday. It gets hairy when you have about 180 ft. visability.
-
meese,
I remember that year because we were building a home and it went so smoothly thanx to the weather cooperating
And that storm in April in the 70's, I believe it was Easter sunday??
-
Nancy, when you decend the Grapevine, it can be like submerging in pea soup. The mornings and evenings are worst. We have had a few days these past couple weeks where my morning visability is about 50 yards. When you are driving, that 50 yards passes quickly, so commuting is slow going. Luckily, the thick"tule" fog disappears about 5-6 miles out, but it can appear just about anywhere.
Kids love "fog" days where school is delayed by 4 hours to allow for safe arrival at schools.
-
Very untypical day here in Northeast Ohio. Sunny and 50's!! No snow on ground, this is quite an unusual winter for us. I personally love it, I don't care much for snow or cold but it can be pretty. I am anxisouly awaiting spring for the thunderstorms. I love a good downpour with distant rolling thunder. This is our last nice day for the week however, back to 30's and low 40's some snow rain mix.
-
I like thunder storms, too. We don't get many here. A "storm" is coming in today and we have had a lot of wind over night.
