Baby it's cold outside

I've gained 10 degrees since I got up 3 hours ago, it's 17.4 degrees now!
-
I live in Saranac Lake - we are often the coldest spot in the nation. It is -1 right now and we are happy as it is not colder!
-
And I was complaining about getting up to 20 degree temps outside this morning.
We didn't get the snow here that they forecast, but they did get the snow on the upper elevations, good for the ski resorts, cold enough to make snow as well as the natural snow falling.
-
Very cold in Central MA, I usually drive with my coat in the seat next to me, had to actually wear it in the car!! BUT looking forward to 40's on the weekend!! Go Patriots!! sorry, this is about weather!! Hope the weather is good for the Patriots this weekend!!! Only major snow storm was in Oct when Trick or treating was rescheduled!! have never had that happen before!! Icy roads/some sleet predictied for the a.m. commute..lovely.

Ananagram,
And hello to all freezing girls. My feet are like ice cubes, but my heart and the rest of me is warm. Proberbly due to menapause.
Saranac Lake. WOW I spent a summer there in 1977. Beutiful place. My dh and I helped out some friends who bought a restaurant there but didn't know how to run it. DH set up the kitchen and menu and I set up the bar. Loved it there. It was called the" Dew Drop Inn". Is it still there? It was a real institution. I think it was owned by the Morgan? family if I remember correctly. My son was concieved there. We stayed at a quaint hotel accross from the DD INN.
We did retun in the winter months to do some more work. IT WAS COLD. The roads were always snow covered but everyone knew how to drive and cope with it. I was pregnant. I miss it. Memories, good ones. thanx.........................................Maureen

An unusual sight just outside our little beach town yesterday afternoon.
-
WOW chabba, looks like Western New York this past weekend!
-
Oh, My! You ladies are really having to deal with a lot! We had a freeze warning last night, and the daytime temp dropped to 60! DH rode his motorcycle to meet me at work for lunch. When he got there his face and neck were like ice!
-
The temp just dropped 10 degrees from 38 to 28, the wind is ridiculous, windows are rattling, wind gust of 65 reported at the airport. Had rain throughout the day, snow for tonight and tomorrow. Got the candles ready, I'm certain that we will lose power.
-
Winter storm warning for tonight and tomorrow. They've predicted up to 10 inches for some of our beaches, including this one. Hope it turns out like yesterdays prediction of 3 inches---we got rain instead.
-
Our weaher is absolutely crazy! As I was driving to work it was 29, but heated up to the low 50s. We have a 30% chance of rain Fri through Sunday.
I was talking to someone yesterday and we are in agreement, we want so weather that we can wear our winter clothing for.
-
My yard is covered with about three inches of snow with drifts to at least six, a lot for the beach. 32 degrees.
-
And the beach
-
-
chabba, you got more snow than me in Batavia N.Y. I've never seen a beach in the winter, is this unusual for you?
-
Very. In 22 years we have a few times we had snow fall but not stick more than a few minutes. Once we woke up to 3 or 4 inches but it was gone before evening. In 91, 92 and now we've had snow sticking more than a few hours and with more to come for a couple of days and very bad streets and highways. At least the temps are not as bad as the two storms in the 90's. Then it got and stayed cold enough, long enough for the canals to freeze enough to walk on.
-
chabba,
Last year the Jersey Shore got 3 feet of snow which was very unusual. All that salt air. I think it was in March.
Climate change???????????????
-
We have well over 18 inches in Sunriver OR. First big storm. We usually have lots of snow in Nov/Dec but didn't get any this year.
The birds have been out eating all day. Guess the snow doesn't bother them.
I can't seem to figure out how to insert a picture I took of them. Can someone help?
-
We have been having a dry, warm winter here in the No. east. We did have a very distructive snow storm on halloween. Lots of long term power outages. Many of the trees still had leaves on them which caused a lot of them to fall. heavy wet snow weighed the brances down. I have a very large maple in my front yard which dropped alot of large brances. 2 very large trees fell in my back yard fell. The owner of that property said he would bring a tracter to remove the trees when the ground froze. Ground is still soft. hey ITS JANUARY.
-
Snow in Seattle. I'm in the banana belt so we only have about 2 inches. Only a few cars on the road. We have some steep hills in the city, so just a little snow stops everything.

Judith & the Mods, thank you so much. I didn't realize I had to upload to a web photo site. I'll test it out.
-
I need to do a rain dance. We are still dry here. Cold, but dry. It was in the forties today.
-
First snow fall of the season today. Went to the supermarket yesterday , it was packed. Fear of being snowed in without food. You know, the real food. Soda, cake, cookies, chips,
Not me of course. I went for the cigarettes.(nasty habit)

We are supposed to get some precipitation today. Precipitation...that's what they call it when you get wet, but they can't measure it.
