Somehow this fell off my favorites list and if it weren't for Elimar mentioning it, my post chemo brain may never have remembered it.  Yes, I still have memory issues that came during chemo and evidently liked the accomodations so they stayed.

Weather has been teeter tottering between high 90s and low 70s.  Crazy weather but I enjoy the middle temps best.

Not 114, but 100 & climbing the next week!  I'm ready for winter & I dislike snow, but I'd sure love to be in a big winter storm right about now!

Hahahaha I just saw this topic and thought someone must live in the North Pole, then I realized the whole picture. It's in the 90's here calling for thunderstorms today and cooling down some. But when I used to hear thunderstorms it was OK, now it's like OMG how bad will it be--it's scary--and we always want winter when it's much to hot and want summer when it's much to cold. Personally since I'm retired I prefer winter cuz I hate the heat and having a/c on and I like to be cuddly with blankets on to watch TV and flannel on.

Today it's supposed to be 104° and tomoorow 105°  then it it supposed to drop to 99° on Monday Brrrrrr!  Actually yesterday was 96° so it hasn't been that hot this week.  Since I leave for work at 6:30 and come home between 5 and 5:30, I don't have to be out in the worst of it.

We're heading to Santa Barbara tomorrow to go on a garden tour and it is supposed to be 73°.  That sounds nice.

well - our weather reporting skills have taken a very long break so I'll recharge the convo.

We have had a BEAUTIFUL fall. Crisp, clear mornings, heating up to mid 70s in the afternoons, back down to cool, crisp nights-great for football, etc. Leaves are pretty, but starting to drop & today I see some clouds are moving in from the north. But I can't complain, it's been spectacular!

Hope everyone is doing ok and are enjoying your own autumns!

Saturday we had a brush with winter temps. It was 25 degrees Saturday morning (record low) in time for the local Komen for the Cure and the highs got around mid-40's. Sunday morning it was in the mid 30's with highs in the mid 50's. it was once again in the mid to upper 30's this morning and some afternoon showers with highs in the 60's again. Our normal low/high for this time of year is 42/69. the rest of the week is calling for closer to normal temps.

Yesterday we had our second "rain" of the season. Since it has been almond shaking season as well, all the "rain" does is make the cars muddy. It will be interesting to see if the air is clear today. You get tired of seeing the air during this season. It is so dusty and full of defolients from the cotton. I have been down with brochitis for the last 12 days.

Oh, our "rains" only measure a trace for rainfall. Temps in the 60s at night 80s during the day.

We also had a brush with winter last week when it went down into the upper 30s one night, but we are back to the usual 50s at night with days in the 70s for now. It's been bright and sunny for the last week or two; can't ask for better weather.

Had to move a bunch of outside plants indoors or into my small greenhouse for those few cold nights. Good exercise. Soon they will have to stay in for the rest of the season. Time to start whining about the cold -- until I have to start whining about the heat when summer comes.

I need to move my plants into the greenhouse soon. Around here, we go from summer to winter without warning. I would be very upset to lose any plants I have babied through the summer heat because I was too lazy to put them away. I lost a panel in my greenhouse during a wind storm and I need to replace that soon, too. I've been feeling bad for so long I haven't had the energy to do much but go to work, come home, go to bed.

I did get motivated this weekend to do a little out in the yard. We planned on over seeding with rye Saturday so I went out and cleared out some of the flower beds and sprinkled pre-emergent in them so they wouldn't be growing grass. I then headed to the backyard and put all but one of my water lilies into a cold-frame. There is still a lot to do, but at least the lillies should make it through the winter.

Everything is supposed to be the same for the next few days mid 70s for the high and low 40s for the low. At least it will buy me a little time to get more plants winterized. Busy Saturday and Sunday so Monday will be my day to work on it.

(In a rare showing of weather solidarity, here I am visiting your thread to BUMP it up to the top.)

If ever there was a time for comments pertaining to "Baby, it's cold outside" I would think NOW would be one of them.

Some places have been just miserable with low temperatures this week.  I cannot imagine having to go out to a sub-zero treatment or appointment.

I've had the luxury of just hibernating and, with Netflix, even the cabin fever does not get too bad.

When the going gets tough, the tough get out the cross country skis.  I did.  Just to ski down my STREET.

Have to admit, I kind of like the challenge of cold weather.

Making a fire is nice also.

We missed winter here.  We had a couple of days with nighttime temps under 30°, but we haven't had rain in so long.  We usually have for season from November through January, and have yet to have a fog day for schools this school year.  Today 70°.  I wish we'd at least get some rain.

Meece - that is ridiculous. The all time high in Ft Worth is only 113 and that was in 1980. Prayers that your AC is in good shape along with your refrigerator for cool drinks.

Joni - love your new avatar.

Meece, Where in Calif. are you?  115 is hotter than hell!  Heat is one reason hubby wanted to move away from S. Calif.  Oregon suits him much better.  We've been here for 22 years now, and the summers here are plenty warm.
