    WAS THAT OUR CAPTAIN?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

    MEEEEEECIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems like ages + ages since we've overlapped around here.

I'm so grateful to 'see' you back at the helm!

    3 points for checking in.

7 points for exercise..... walking: either treadmill or beach.

Some points for at least thinking about drinking water.

Weight is the same..... stuck at 144.4 give or take .2 pounds.

You know ELABBERS -- I had a big long conversation with myself about what my realistic goals need to be for the 'long-haul' and I'm coming to grips with working the plan to accept my 'mature' figure -- at this current more-or-less state.

I need to know that working the exercise and the eating less -- that if I can stay where I am with periodic dips down lower............ it's realistic. It's me. Version: long haul.

I hope that doesn't sound too depressing. Keeping on the program and working in bigger portions of acceptance in the process.

    YEAH TEAM!!!

Tonight is our one night in our own house in our 7 week vagabond. We were in southern FL the last couple weeks. Headed to New Orleans in the morning -- then on to Baton Rouge and then rewind and go back to Ft. Lauderdale area.

Hugs to our newest lab-grand child!!!!!!

    Hugs all around.

Keep working it. Good choices and more of them.

    OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH my extra credit point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the last two weeks I have indeed turned on my creative juices and have tackled my first quilt/illustration for my next picture book. Have it nearly 80% accomplished. LUV having the arbitrary launch of a NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been too embarrassed to be here.  I bought a scale yesterday and will start back at the weight I logged at last night...174.1  argh!!!!

The weekends are tough,  Within walking distance of the kitchen and pantry all day.

Meece, no need to be embarrassed; we are all friends, non-judgmental and at some point have been there.

I just don't know what happened.  DH and I took longer than normal to shop for groceries this weekend.  I was reading labels so as to get the most "enjoyment" from the least calories.

It is pretty disheartening, that as he follows what I am eating, he gets more benefits because he ends up with around 900 calories under his projected goal each day.

Meece, remember that men have higher basal calorie per pound requirements to begin with, so if he is eating the same stuff you are, he is more likely to come in under his calorie goals than you are.  My sister and her husband are fighting the major obesity issue, and she requires 1/2 the calories that he does just to maintain weight, and even less than that to lose.  So my gentle message to you is to quit comparing yourself to your DH and just compare yourself to YOU!  Do you have someone who is knowledgable about nutrition working with  you? You probably have a pretty good idea yourself if you are reading labels!  I have always had a special interest in nutrition, so will help if I can.  But mainly, just enjoy your moments of being YOU and don't beat yourself up!  Lots of hugs!

Missed Friday again... had my two GS's for the past 5 days. The school week went easily into the weekend without notice! Had to get up earlier than usual to get them to school/day care then myself in to work all by 8:00... Yikes.

Ate to much popcorn Friday night and the time got away from me... the movie was cute though. Cars 2.

My weight is probably the same, I'm hoping. I did drink the water along with tea and coffee. Exercise was OK the beginning of the week when I was able to go to the gym... after that it was lifting kids and their backpacks, cooking and doing laundry. We did get the old wagon out and I showed them how they could coast down the hill. (short hill, no accidents). New experiences for me since I've got GS so I can bring out the tomboy in me!

Tonight I made some chicken, bean and veggie soup for lunches the rest of the week

Samsue, I am sure you can count a BUNCH of points for activity this week!  Taking care of little ones requires a LOT of energy expenditure! Glad you got a chance to enjoy the kids.

I am not drinking enough water.  I should place that in my list of goals.  I made some delicious weight watchers taco soup for dinner last night.  And...I pedaled 4 miles on the stationary bike.  All I want to do is look good in a dress for my son's wedding in 10 months!

OK  - I can breath out now - yearly mammo all done and no problems to worry about.  Tomorrow I start my food log again and get back to a health eathing plan.  Not sure I can do much about adding exercise to my day at the moment but most days I do a fair bit of running around at work and I park about a ten minute walk away from where I work so that's a 2 X 10 minute walk most days plus what I do at work - it's hard to quantify.  Weighed myself today i'm 157 lbs which is the heaviest I've been since July 2010 so that means I've undone about a years hard weightloss work but there is no point in crying over spilt milk (even if it is skimmed - lol).  So I expect I'll be having some repair surgury done on my recon about June this year so I will aim to lose the weight before then I would like to get to about 130 lbs so I'll have to really work at it.

Sorry for not being here to support the rest of you over the past little while - sometimes I try to just ignore, deny - I'm not sure what really but just shut out the whole cancer chapter particularly around this time of the year because it was this time of year that I was diagnosed but I guess it's just part of who I am now so maybe I should, as the saying goes, "embrace the new me" and just get on with it !!

    So here we go again!!!

    Checking in with the Flock:

Maintaining from prior week = 1 point

    Exercising = 4 points

    Making the Friday Check-in = 3 points

Meeting daily water intake = 6 points

    Total = 14

Well, not any improvement, but not getting any worse!  Saw my PCP today and we talked about why I am still having such problems with fatigue.  She seems to think if I can get pain under control I will have less fatigue.  Hmmm.... sounds like she probably knows what she is talking about, but I just have a hard time admitting I need a pill for pain a couple times a day... kind of like saying "I am still sick" but I know that just isn't necessarily true.  So I will start getting the pain under control and see if that will get me back to being more active.  You ladies are just the best at keeping me motivated, despite myself!  Thanks!

Zogo, sorry to hear about your cousin, but glad you got to see him.  Deborye, sorry to hear your dad is worse.  I know how stressed I was when dealing with my dad's last couple of years, and that was BEFORE BC.  I don't know how you do it.... I guess you just keep on doing what needs to be done because there's not any other option.  Special prayers for you.

New week, new attitude.  I WILL BE STRONG!!!

Thank you, bcincolorado, all he wants to do is sleep, so BW will be done early next week.  He is living at an Independent Assisted Living at Nashoba Valley Assisted Living in Ayer, MA.  He loves it there but if he becomes to hard to handle, I'm afraid he will have to go into a nursing home and I hope the Lord takes him first.

    Robin checking in -

Made my own exercise goal LAST week - then forgot to check-in!!!! Was down 1.2 pounds.

Suddenly sick during the night Saturday night - slept all day, didn't eat at all or drink much. Temp only about 100. Better Monday, up and dressed, no temp. Spent the rest of the week queasy, tired, achy. Weight down 5 pounds! No exercise, no water points. Maybe one extra credit point for surviving??? Hopefully next week will be better!

I missed checking in - brought work home with me and forgot to check in.

Roadrunner checking in late - 1 pt

0 pts - no weigh in, but with full clothes on in dr's office several days before was up - not a good measure, though

6 pts for water - had trouble keeping some by my bedside one night - kept tipping the damn thing over!

4 pts for exercise - one day walking the dogs, one day at gym.  Not too good this week.  Long week this coming week (at work) so probably won't be much better.  Sigh.

11 pts total - pretty bad.  Oh, well, it's the journey, not the destination.

Linda-N3ypb--try thinking about the pain as being a condition to keep under control to prevent complications, like high blood pressure.  It's easy to take blood pressure medication regularly,  not because I am sick, but to prevent future problems.  Chronic pain can also cause complications if not controlled, so you aren't sick, you are protecting your future.
