I'll have another look to see if Athena pm'd me her email address and if I still have the message. I got bored after a couple of pages last time I looked.

Sorry to be missing in action. Bad reaction to new meds......lots of stiffness. Have been laying low. Will check in until it gets all sorted out. DR. says it will take 3 months to work properly. We shall see. That and that nasty cold has had me under the couch!
-
Sooooo glad to see you Blue! I have nothing else to say.
Mary
-
Blue - good to see your post - sorry you're having such a rough time - that "cold" you have seems to be the GTA flu this winter - everyone I know has it and they say it lasts a few weeks (not days) - any drugs for the stiffness? Hope so. Take care.
-
We missed you Blue. Wish the awful sickness would GO AWAY!!! And you feel better soon.
-
(((((((((((((Blue))))))))))))

Waving at Blue. Sorry you're not up to par.
-
Blue, good to see you. Wishing you all the best for a full recovery.
Just wanted to make an observation: this thread is a little over a year old, has 21,436 post and 375,115 views. Not bad for a banned, unlisted, ignored, hope you will go away thread. Rock on!!

Here's to our thread!
Blue, glad to 'see' you and am sending strong good vibes to knock the crud out of you.
-
Blue - so sorry you're having a difficult time with new meds. 3 months sounds like SUCH a long time, but hope you feel better much, MUCH sooner than that.
That cold, cruddy whatever seems to be hitting so many of us - I SLEPT all day yesterday - literally - and woke up for a few hours late in the day, and then went back to sleep - waking early this am. Feel better, but some kind of "bug" must still be around for me to sleep almost a full day...
Hoping our "northwestern" friends are safe in Snowmaggedon - stay warm!
-
Great news - I found Athena's email address and emailed her - told her we miss her heaps.
Just finished a laborious task for Steve - medical expenses for the last financial year - he's doing our tax for 2010/2011 - late as usual (our fin year ends on 30th June here) as he is an accountant and can be late.
What an exciting evening

Hi blue, hope you are feeling better and that in the meantime you are spoiling yourself.
Snowmageddon? PAUGH!!!! not a snowflake in sight, indeed all I see are clouds interspersed with patches of blue sky. Oldest Monster and I waited 30 minutes for a bus that never came and ended up walking to a more central bus stop with more options. After all that, his school was delayed 2 hours!!! Lucky him! me? I just missed my morning coffee. grrrrrrr.
That said, I do get the Seattle panicking over snow predictions. Seattle typically does not get much snow (it wasn't even decently cold this winter) so no money is invested in snow plows and the other types of snow removal equiptment. I consider this sensible --I'd rather stay home on those rare snow and use the money on other stuff like oh, I don't know, police and fire services and regular public transportation.
At the same time, Seattle is VERY hilly--like San Francisco. So imagine San Francisco with snow----yup! A complete mess. Where we live, we are down a hill and up a hill and surrounded by hills. The least bit of ice and the car goes no where. In 2008, there was a week of snow right around Christmas and we didn't move the car for nearly 3 weeks. Lots of fun memories of DH dragging a Christmas tree home (a mile through the snow!) and all of us getting on the bus with backpacks to go get the stuff for our Christmas dinner.

3monstmama-Snowmageddon 2012 has finally hit here in Shoreline. Schools were already delayed 2 hours, and it really started coming down and sticking to the roads at about 9 AM. I was just getting ready to leave for work when I got the text that we were closed. I feel bad for the bus drivers-the high school kids are already at school, and now they have to get them all home.
I second what 3monstmama said about Seattle in the snow.

Snowmaggeddon 2012, Shoreline style.

Beautiful! I'd like to have one good snowfall out here on the east coast this winter. So far we've just had flurries.
-
Wow Mary - I love the pic. We never ever get snow of course. Sometimes it snows a couple of hours inland and south but only once in a blue moon and it melts almost straight away. Aust does have a mountain region called the Snowy Mountains in another state, but it only snows there in Winter although I think it did down there last week.
My brother lives near Seattle out near East Redmond and he had a snow cam set up we could look at a few years ago. I'd love to visit in Winter over there.
-
That's from my front door. If you look real close at the upper left, you can see the school where I work. Rough commute, huh?
Mary
-
Wow Mary .. that's a lot of snow! We looked like that all last winter. So far it's just very cold and windy here. A very mild winter this year. I'd rather have snow and no wind.
Love your commute!
hugs,
Bren

Mary, Color me JEALOUS!!!! Looking south towards Rainier I see sunshine......bah! Humbug! Seriously fast moving cloud cover and not a flake nor a droplet of rain.
Its time to reveal my secret. I have insured there will be minimal snow in Seattle. I know exactly where my long underwear is. I am wearing socks today and full shoes instead of my keen sandels. And I contacted main office to make sure I could use the corporate issued blackberry to check email if I am snowbound.
In other words, I am PREPARED which means there will be nothing close to snow.
On the bright side, this means that DH and I will be able to get my mother to her oncologist appointment this afternoon and find out what comes next. . . .at least we will so long as the oncologist doesn't cancel! Hope he doesn't live in Shoreline!
Just got a notice that schools are being released 2 hours early. Poor Oldest Monster! He takes public transport up to his school north of the ship canal and the regular metro bus didn't come today so we walked about a mile to a busier bus stop. We finally got downtown 30 minutes later than usual so he was on schedule for missing his first period when a friend texted him that school was delayed two hours. Now he gets to make the trek back home.
-
Pretty snow picture! Is it mean to say that I'm glad you get to enjoy it instead of me? We had thunderstorms this morning. Now it is getting colder and is so windy I'm afraid we are being blown to the Wonderful Land of Oz. Oh ... and we might get snow flurries tonight. Tomorrow ... who knows ... this has been a weird winter so far.
Glad to see you checking in Bren ... I've been looking for you. Blue ... hope you get to feeling better soon.
I made chili today and decided to put macaroni in it to make it a little different. Cooked too much ... threw it all in anyway ... and screwed it up instead. Plucking the macaroni out of chili-mac with a fork is not exactly my idea of a good time. And that was my excitement for the day. Pitiful huh ... next time I'll just roast brussel sprouts instead

-
It's snowing here and the wind id blowing. It is supposed to be bad for a few days and then back up into the 40s. It is supposed to be a really mild winter. I'm glad. The last 2 have been reaaly bad.

Our Lioness contacted me to say she's busily roaming the Serengeti, feasting on wildebeest and whatever else roams the Serengeti, to feed her litter of cubs. She'll return when life slows its frantic pace and the kids are off hunting grasshoppers and field mice.
Speaking of the-subject-that-shall-not-be-named, sad to see that Manhunts (name changed to disguise the subject) dropped out of the..er..marathon. Even MORE surprised that he endorsed Neyrom. What's up with that?
Did I mention I love Wisconsin? *waving hi to Wisconsinites*
Scooooootalooooo
-
Scoot - he didn't have a hope in heck of winning and wanted to make sure Neyrom won the next leg of the marathon - this was the only way to do it - Neyrom will now probably win the marathon - simple isn't it? Also waving to Wisconsinites
-
Joining the lovefest for Wisconsinites, here! Manhunts had so much stacked against him vs the Pea Tardy. He is intelligent ( a no-no), a moderate (double no-no) and he served in the Obama Admin-a smite-able offense) If we had a truly educated and opened minded electorate, he would be the one to give Obama a run for the money. Instead, we are dominated by small minded fear mongers and look at what we have to look forward to! Drink heavily and think good thoughts!
-
Update on Athena - she's touched we miss her and will be back soon, I hope. I love Scoots description of where she is - good one

Very tired from long meetings today. Seems like we are trying to reinvent the wheel. The stuff we have been meeting about is standard practice - why do we have to discuss it all over again - sheesh. Also, having to try and estimate how long work will take is a bit hard when you don't have all the details - crazy. I am looking forward to doing some real work though, but part of it will be learning something I've managed to avoid up until now - poop. A lady from our Business area today said she was glad I was on the project - we've worked together before, so she knows my work - that was really nice and I made sure I told my team leader what she said - never hurts to promote oneself.
-
3Monstmamma,
Hope you're hunkered down and snug as a bug....
-
Blowing kisses at the Badger State!
Loving me some Angry Badgers!L
-
Waving to HL!
-
Morning Everybody!
Glad to see Scoot and Susie were able to reach Athena. Hope life mellows for her in the near future.
Rabbit .. Thanks for thinking of me. I tend to hibernate in the winter. I feel like an old bear. The wind here is ferocious too. I can take the cold, but not all this wind.
3monster .. Hope all went well with your mother's appointment and you aren't snowed in.
Libby ... I haven't kept up with the news lately, but apparently something wonderful happened in Wisconsin. And I know it wasn't football cause the Badgers lost their last game.
I have errands to run, so I better get cleaned up and get to it.
Sending hugs to all,
Bren
