Blue so glad you're finally feeling better.
-
Kira - great news! I would have responded sooner but your news was so boring I fell asleep mid-me......zzzzzzzzz...............
-
Blue!!! Hooray!!
-
I'm afraid there isn't enough free time in my schedule to catch up completely, so I'll just say Hello Ladies...glad to see the place is still filled with good cheer! I've been off for months (first because of school, then because of consecutive carpel tunel surgeries), but wanted to pop in and see how you all were, and let you know I'm thinking of you....
I can't stay on a lot as I'm only 2 weeks out from the second surgery...but I hope everyone gets better, gets good test results, and enjoys their week :P

Kira - you are sooooo booooooring!!!!
Hugs, Sandy

Kira-So happy for your boring results!
And Blue-very happy to see you and that you are getting better.
navygirl-good to see you again-it sounds like you have been busy!
It was back to work for me, and back to school for my students, after an unplanned week off due to snow and ice. I was a little worried that my students would have lost a significant amount of skills that I had taught them before the "break". I work with kids with learning difficulties, and for many of them, repetition, practice, and consisitency is key. I was pleasantly surprised-it was as if we had never had any time off! I have great kids this year....they may not be the highest level learners, but they are motivated to learn. Makes my job so much easier.

Kira, great news.
Blue, welcome home. We missed you.
-
YEAH! BLUE posted, 'nuff said. Missed you!
-
{{Blue}} Missed you and navygirl, missed you, too! Welcome back!
Step daughter comes to visit Thursday from Seattle. It has been 8+ years since I have seen her. Can't wait!
-
Rain continuing for the rest of the week and the weekend - had to backwash the pool to empty some out - looks like another event like last year when the river flooded. Then again, the dam operators did stuff up then, so we'll see.
-
Hi, Blue, good to see you. Hope antibiotics do their miracle work -- meanwhile, acidophyilis ( sp?) if you need them too. Antibiotics always wreck my stomach if I'm not taking something to counteract it. So happy you are feeling progress...
Kira - sounds close enough to boring to celebrate!
Hope all are having a good day -
-
The pool has filled up again - heavy rain all night. I'll have to go out there and drain it again.
I decided to stay home - imagine catching the bus in this weather - Lucky I can work from home.
Blue - hope you are feeling better ((((((((HUGS)))))))

Wow, Susie, that's a lot of rain! I used to have a pool at my last house and had to back wash occasionally but you are getting creamed! And we even have hurricanes here!
DH is making me a 'comfort food meal' of mac and cheese, hotdogs and spinach. Rough day at the hated job but my new boss will let me work form home a couple days a week. YAY!!
-
Hi Blue. Good to hear from you.
-
Barb - yes, it's a lot. I'm so glad as I hadn't been doing as much backwashing as I should due to the pool level being so low. Now I have a nice clean filter

I've already done heaps of work even though I keep popping back here. I normally do that in the office anyway. The requirements for the work I did hasn't even been documented yet, but I did the code - it was easy. I could go and have a nap and pretend it took me all day

-
Barbara-mac and cheese and hotdogs! I haven't had that in forever. Are the hot dogs cut up into the mac and cheese, or are they on the side? Yum! The spinach doesn't sound bad either.
Susie-I hope your rain lets up. We're having a lot of rain here in the Seattle area now that the snow is gone. I really get tired of it. If we didn't have 2 sets of elderly parents living near us, we would probably be living somewhere a little less gray. Right now, though, I feel like we need to be near at this point in their lives. I have friends who are trying to take care of elderly parents long distance, and it seems very stressful.

It's stopped for now, but apparently more is on the way. I actually love it

-
Morning all. This is why I live where I live.

-
Big giggle Barbara, your temperatures are why I live in Seattle---I have never ever liked hot weather and my body defines "hot" as being in the 70s or above.
I tolarated it growing up in DC but sure as heck didn't like it. And after the year I got sunstroke in Greece, sunshine and I were through.

so unlike poor Mary, I am not troubled by our current weather at all. I have heaps of sweaters and scarves and am happy as a clam!
-
OK, I have to vent. I don't usually talk politics, but omfg!!!! We have breast cancer friends right here going through hell, declaring bankruptcy, losing their homes, skipping treatment, and suffering horribly because of financial hardship. Then we get this freakin' ding-dong Republican from Oklahoma piddling around worried about FETUS EATING??? Is there anyone from Oklahoma here? Is this a real problem in Oklahoma? Heaven forbid this clown pull his head out of the National Enquirer and work on something useful like.....oh, I dunno....maybe our healthcare crisis?!
-
Hi Everybody!
Barbara ... I am so glad to hear you can work from home a few days a week. I know that will be a big improvement for you.
thenewme .. That's the craziest article I've ever read. Where do these people get their information?
Blue ... Hope you're doing better ... I miss you.
hugs to all,
Bren

Hi Everybody!
Just got done reading the article thenewme posted. That's ridicules.
susieq58 sure hope the rain has stopped.
Blue hope you are on the mend.
Dinner tonight is chops on the grill , a salad, and grilled vegetables!

Just woke up - holiday today for Aust Day - it's not raining so far, but is expected to return over the weekend. I love it anyway except Steve can't play golf, so I'm stuck with him at home

After my day's work at home yesterday, I decided I should clean up my computer desk - it looked like a hurricane had hit it - the biggest mess ever. Now I write to you from an immaculate desk - you can even see the surface - wow. I keep just going in to look at how nice it is.
Barb - great you can work from home a bit, personally I prefer face to face comms with my work mates, but we can do it whenever we like.
Thenewme - from what I've heard about the food over there, I wouldn't be surprised
Just joking. What a loony!!!Sue
-
Thenewme, ridiculous. This marathon is making me insane. Things are looking REALLY bad for fiscal conservatives.
-
Now that the issue of cannibalism has been brought up, I'd like to bring up a topic near and dear to my heart:
the Enslavement of Good Americans by Aliens from Outer Space.
Now I know we have yet to read of this happening but ladies we must not hide our heads in the sand. It. Is. Out. There.
or maybe I mean they are out there.

and when they get here, what happens then? What happens if there is no law on the books to make it illegal for Aliens from Outer Space to enslave good americans? HMMMM?

I'm thinking I need to drop a line to the fine gentleman from Oklahoma. He seems to have his eye on the maybe in a zillion years threats to world peace and civilization, I'm sure he will be interested in my proposal.

3Monst, ROFLMAO!
-
You never know!
-
But I thought these good folks didn't want the government getting into their dinner menus -- Michelle's eat healthy campaign!
-
3monstmama I love it! You made me laugh today!

One word. NUTS!
