Rosemary, whine away.
Well, have to agree with Scoot. No choices this election. I may have to move to the Caymans. Been planning on it but not until I retire. May have to move that up.
It will be 75 here today. Aaahhh. I think I see the pool in my near future. But I just lounge and don't venture in, that's for tourists who think 60 degree water is nice.
Susie, if you live with snow, you would be sick of it. I did and I was so here I am now.
Hoping everyone has a great weekend! Wine helps with that. And so does Dewars!
-
I'm with scoot - and truly miss the way Jim Lehrer moderated the debates - he WARNED the audience that they were not allowed to make any reaction - they were to remain SILENT. The way it is hosted now, the "debators" just PLAY TO THE AUDIENCE - it' a stupid performance for attention.
Another way $$$$ comes into it - when the media stops being able to make $$$ on the televised debates, wanna bet they will end???? Can't be soon enough - I don't watch, get some "high(low)lights" from computer next day, but that's about all I can handle...
SNOW - about 6 inches - falling straight, soft, no wind, kinda pretty, from the inside. 3MM's - yup, definitely a wine day...
-
We got about 1 inch, plus some ice. Just enough to look pretty AND cause a bunch of fender-benders. I think I'll stay home today.
The candidates are trying to be everything to everyone right of center, and it's just not working for them. They're either seen as flip-floppers, opportunists, or just plain ridiculous. I'm with you, Sunflowers - I can't stand to watch the whole show and listen as the crowd of goons they call an audience cheers death.
Anyway, happy weekend to all! Barb, I swear if you keep talking about how warm the temps are you're going to find me on your doorstep! And I'll be wearing socks with my sandals. :-P

What a fashion statement that would be.
-
Well ya know, it goes along with my dowdy CPA image.
-
Just to make your mouths water a little, I'm going up to the NOTL Ice Wine Festival this afternoon. All the wineries will be offering tastings.......and even though I'm not especially fond of the stuff, I'll be happy to taste-test on your behalf
. -
Awwwww I really wanted to go this year. Drink extra for me!!
-
Hope you're going to have a designated driver - you're going to need one - a "taste" for me too.
-
No worries Sandy, I'll be walking -- it's just up on Queen Street!
-
Yum, Linda. I LOVE ice wine and thanks to Anne, managed to get some NOTL ice wine back to my home.
-
This might be a silly question, but what is ice wine?
By the way I go for my mammogram Monday! I dread it every time I have to get it now.
-
Not a silly question at all, Kira! Ice wine is made from grapes which stay on the vine throughout the fall and into winter and then are picked during below-freezing temps (usually in January). This makes the grapes much, much sweeter and more concentrated. It's used as a dessert wine.
Good luck with the mammo -- we know exactly how you feel
. -
{{Kira}} Fingers crossed for you!
-
Kira-we all know how you feel, that's for sure! Hoping for boring results on Monday.

Thanks guys. My DH just thinks I should get on with my life, oh how I wish he understood as well as all of you do!
The ice wine sounds really good. I will have to see if I can find some. Maybe order it over the internet?
-
What a great idea! I got some ice wine made at a family run winery in Prince Edward County. This could be a good day to open it.
-
Kira, I know you can't get it at an ABC store but maybe a high end wine shop like Total Wine would have it. I am sure you can order it over the internet though. Lassie, my mouth is watering fro some ice wine!
-
Kira - know just how you feel about mamo - hoping for really, really, really boring results.
-
So we're going to a play today, and my DH decides he is going to wear shorts. Says he I can't fit into any of my good clothes because you aren't exercising. Now I know I need to get back to it, but really my fault that he isn't? There I times I wonder why I ever married him!
-
Kira fingers crossed. I get really anxious for 3 weeks before every onc visit. I know what you mean.
I decided the pain in my chest is costochondritis because it hurt one day and was gone the next. Doesn't really matter what caused it. I'm just glad it is gone.
-
Kira - hope you are really boring

Had a crappy weekend - felt really really tired yesterday and I was so tired, I felt ill. A big nap helped but I still didn't feel so good. I'm starting to think the Aromasin isn't so great. I can always switch back to Arimidex.
The good news is that I'm only working 3 days this week. Thursday is Australia Day and therefore a public holiday. Lots of people downstairs were having Friday off, so I applied too. But it seems like most of the mob upstairs where I am now are working Friday - I'll be sure to laugh at them while I'm relaxing.
Blue and Athena - come back this instant!!! Hope you are both OK.
Sue

We're in for a wet week - yippeeeee!!! Happy garden, happy pool, happy Susie - cooler temps

Kira
another vote for very, very boring - the anxiety pre finding out the boring part is still the same horror, but we have do many votes for boring, nothing else would dare appear....
-
Kira, heres to a boring boring mammogram. Totally get the nervousness--I try hard to be nonchalent but honestly I am chewing my fingers and attacking the chocolate dish before every scan......
as for your DH blaming you for his weight gain, are we to understand you keep him chained to a chair and spend your days forcing his mouth open & shoving high caloric foods down his throat?
Shame on you....

-
Jeez, Kira, tell your DH we all told him to grow a pair and take responsibility for his own damn weight. As if you need more anxiety right now.
We all get the scanxiety. Hoping for a boring, boring, *yawning in anticipation* mammogram!

Kira,
Totally get where you are coming from. My DH gained 20 lbs when I was going thru treatment. Nervous eating on his part.Good thing he never blamed me. I would have shoved the food down his throat =;0)
-
Well just got back from the mammogram. I think it's ok, but what she wrote was a small area they feel is benign, but a 6Th month follow up is recommended. The 6month follow-up is to confirm the area hasn't changed. Now that makes me feel so good. I don't even know which side it's on!
-
Happy dancing with Kira!! Booorrring!!!
-
kira
Woo hoo!
-
Boy oh boy, I missed a lot but getting better so will check in more often. I'm on antibiotics now and they are helping.
