you know my middle monster would probably be fascinated by such photos. . . .she's the one who had to be given a mirror so she could watch them put the stitches in her own tongue. . while I worked VERY hard at not tossing my breakfast. . . .did I mention she was five at the time?

Sue I hear you on the certificate for shopping in Paris but that would have had to come with an airline ticket and alas, that won't be in the works for a while.  A family of five taking two trips to France in a year--even with large hunks of one trip paid for by someone else--sure does a number on the finances.  If only DH were more successful in his choice of lottery tickets!   Anyrate, I had a blast shopping---including a new emile henry pie plate and set of 4 soufflee thingees in a lovely shade of blue and a scary sharp Wusthoff 9" chefs knife --and only went over by a little bit. . . . .well a small bit . . . well not by too much. . . .

Monstamom ... Your shopping trip sounds wonderful.  You got a lot of great things for your gift certificate!

Rosemary ... So glad the results were benign.  Good luck at the dentist today.  My big expedition out into the world today was dropping by the walmart pharmacy.  My life is really exciting too ... I might really get wild and walk the dogs today!

I see NOTHING at all wrong with leaving the guests carless--they are big people--let them rent, walk or take public transport.

Rosemary - Yeah, boring.  10 years - that's fantastic.

Blue - family parts album still has me giggling.  I asked the surgeon after she removed my gallbladder about 4 years ago, after I passed gallstones during chemotherapy - yuck  - if I could have some of the gallstones.  Thinking they'd be crystal like thingies - she groaned & said no, they wer like pieces of poo ;(   more yuck.  For some reason, I still have all the old mammography pics.

A some day craft project, speaking of parts - b4 I thrw outall my old Olga Minimizer Underwire bras, I cut out the wires!  Thinking, theyd be neat painted, and made into a mobile!  With crystals hanging here & there.  It's in the Pile of Maybe Someday Projects.

Somebody mentioned knitting.  I just tore out a half finished sweater I hadn't touched in about 4 years, and now planning to knit something very plain.  Looking for a very simple worsted wool cardigan ( no raglan sleeves) - there's something SO hard about picking up and restarting an old sweater, esp. as this was a complicated pattern.  I just love knitting. So wanted to give myself a chance to use this wool, and start something new.

I have a basket of "cool stuff" that I thought would make good craft projects and there it sits. I am making a pair of mittens out of a felted sweater, with lots of embroidery. I think embroidery is the craft I like best but one of my goals for this year( not resolutions) is to learn to knit better.

I haven't knitted for ages but was very capable when I did. I got stuck on cross stitch - totally love it, but haven't got room for more wall things. I'm now trying to make smaller things - like pin cushions. I did get a great knitting book not long ago with really cute wee teddies in it - that's going to be my next project - one for each grand baby.

I'm finishing up a sweater that is knitted from the top in one piece. No Seams!!!!!

I bought myself a dressform for Christmas so I must get back into garment sewing. I enjoy it but it is time consuming to do it right. I have a lot of plans. We'll see what gets done.

I like sewing embrodery card making and finding interesting ways to reuse things. Felting (fulling) wool is fun but I have a lot of felted sweaters and fabric that needs to be made into something. I have made baby shoes mittens purses  and little zipper bags.

I like to line or frame my embroidery. Then you can't see the back. This from a woman whose grandmother said the back should look as good as the front!

Wow Scuttlers - that's a lot. I only have one, however, it is a Bernina - the best I think.

I crochet - I prefer thread and little steel crochet hooks. I'd love to knit, but I can't get the tension right. The stitches are either so tight, I can't get them off the needles, or so loose, they go flying off the needles! LOL

I got a knitting loom for Christmas; big enough to make a blanket! And I got a wild idea to combine that with another project - crocheting cloth strips. So I bought a strip cutter and am in the process of cutting strips to loop join together to use as the yarn in the knitting loom. This project may take a while!
